We usually feel reluctant to think positively of this painful and somewhat inconvenient point in each month, but what if we could use this time to grow and understand ourselves more, spiritually? You are reading page 3 of Your Period and Its Spiritual Significance. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

The next time my wife complains I am going to cite this article. I know she will appreciate my thoughtfulness.

Definitely. And please record it. And share as an article here on AN. For science, obviously.

I will!

I will say, in prior experiences, when it was even suggested that perhaps maybe behavior was related to hormonal fluctuations I was met with stiff resistance but now that I know she doesn't fully appreciate what she has I am sure she will thank me this time.

Except for the Hot Flashes

I got VERY lucky and had the majority of them during the coldest winter in a long time.

I sailed through menopause fortunately. I never had problems, but found periods to be a messy hassle. If I had a dollar for every pair of underpants I ruined, I'd be rich! So glad to be done with them.

I'm wiser and more spiritual now too. Menopause rocks!!!

This is another one of those postings that make me laugh out loud. Not just smile, but LOL.

You know, the thing is that OP does sound serious about her post. And that's OK for her. But it doesn't sound like she has had any negative exposures to women who are less 'mystical' and reverent about our reproductive cycles.

I'm sad I don't get to experience all this extra spirituality.

You're not missing much.

Trust me.

Nothing wonderful or spiritual bleeding 2 weeks of the month, never knowing when it would start or stop, clots and all.....always having to keep spare scrubs at work, wearing what felt like a diaper to contain it all

Nope.

I am glad to be passing that phase of my life. Menopause, come on over.
