You are reading page 5 of Winning...the economy under Trump. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

There has yet to be any specific claims that money or other resources was funneled from the Clinton foundation to Chelsea's wedding, maybe you could clarify what you're referring to.

I don't know that there is much arguing that these countries are bad places to live, the issue is whether or not these are inferior people, as Trump was suggesting.

He didn't suggest anything, much less admitted to even saying the COUNTRIES were ****holes. Even the "leaks" of him saying it say something to the effect of "Haiti is a ****hole". Nothing about the people, or how they're inferior...

There are numerous articles to be found about the impact of the opioid crisis on the American economy, and none of them are good, except for the millions that drug companies raked in as they were promoting their products as nonaddicting.

And who does the administration have in charge of overseeing this national emergency ? Why, a 24 year old who was promoted as a result of other staff resignations.

As a public health nurse I see the impact of drug addiction up close and personal, and the cost to local and state governments is only growing. Sure would be nice if the federal government could treat this as the emergency it truly is.

Plus as Nel points out, it impacts many of Trump's base, working class whites. But I am sure he will only pay attention to it if he can make a buck off of it.

At any given time there are between a few hundred and a couple thousand Norwegian citizens living in the US, the population of Norway is over 5 million, how is a few thousand more than 5 million?

There are 4.4 million Norwegians living in the U.S.

American FactFinder - Results

Norway's population is 5 million. I guess to be exact, Norway does retain more than half of their population, but the point is still made.

One word: Hezbollah.

Sure would be nice if past administrations wouldn't leave a mess.

Hezbollah is the reason why Donnie Dotard appointed yet another unqualified person to a position within his administration, itsy-bitsy?

Hezbollah? You sure are funny, itsy-bitsy!!!! LOLOLOLOL

Why do you have such a hard time staying on topic? The topic of this thread is the economy.

If you want to discuss Trump in general, there is already a thread for that. Use it.

I am sure you can continue to channel Roger Ailes for comments made on the Donald Trump thread.

Your post referenced Norwegians who chose to live in the US rather than Norway, ie immigrants. The total Norwegian immigrant population in the US in the 2011 census was 22,669. The 4.4 million you're referring to are Americans who report Norwegian ancestry.

Wikileaks didn't produce allegations. Wikileaks provided the e-mails of Podesta, writing about the investigations that Chelsea Clinton was doing into the Clinton Foundation's money. Then further, the e-mail show that they were, I guess you could say making fun of, the thought of Chelsea Clinton investigating the money that the Clinton Foundation has, saying as if, yea, what is she going to investigate? Her "getting paid for campaigning, using foundation resources for her wedding and life for a decade, taxes on money from her parents" since they both know that Chelsea Clinton DID those things. And then that Chelsea needs to be spoken to and end the investigation.

WikiLeaks - The Podesta Emails

Of course the Clintons would deny it, why would they admit to stealing money, it's a crime. Oh, snopes... This article is talking about decreasing Haiti's minimum wage, from the U.S. State Department, which HRC was secretary of. Not of the funds in the Clinton Foundation...

I'm still not clear what evidence there is that Chelsea Clinton funneled any money from the Foundation for her wedding. Chelsea and Bill sit on the board of the foundation, but don't have any direct access to the foundation's funds and don't even take a salary.

The reported quote, which Trump so far only disputes the exact wording of, was "why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here". The "shithole" part of it was referring to the countries, but he was pretty clearly referring to the people from these countries as the people he didn't want coming here, which fits in with the context of the conversation. This wasn't a discussion about places he wouldn't want to visit. He also reportedly stated he would prefer Norwegian immigrants to Haitian immigrants, in other words that Haitian immigrants are inferior to Norwegian immigrants.

Maybe you could clarify how "Hezbollah" ties in with the Opioid crisis?

I Googled that when it first got posted here, because it does seem ridiculous on its face. I got links to a Reddit site where a poster made that claim (also with no evidence/documentation) and someone else commented that the people making that claim are including everyone in the US of Norwegian descent -- in which case, yeah, that statement is probably true -- how many people in is, oh, say, Minnesota have some distant Norwegian ancestry? -- but a ridiculous comparison.

Please explain how you arrived at your 4.4 million figure. I've studied your US Census link; what I get when I click on the link is a graph that shows numbers of Europeans living in the US in 2016 broken down by "Born in Europe," "Born in Northern and Western Europe," and "Born in Southern and Eastern Europe." Nothing broken down by specific country. I'm not finding any links on the page that take me to any more specific figures.
