Definitely not Trump, but I think Bernie will keel over in office before his 4 years are up. Plus, he's not going to carry a) minorities, b) senior citizens, and I'm not a big fan of Clinton, so :arghh:. Screwed.

For whom do you think minorities are going to vote?

Every Republican wants to replace Obamacare with free market healthcare which means high premiums and no coverage for pre-existing conditions.

Not every republican want this. Coverage for pre-existing conditions is expensive becuase they require more care. Do you want to pay for the 2ppd smoker who develops COPD? Some things I can understand like juvenile diabetes, congenital defects, or any other ailment outside of free choice. Dont expect me to hand over dollars for someone because they made bad life decisions. Single payer also wont solve this. How would you like if Comcast was your only cable provider or any computer you wanted had to come from Dell? Multiple entities creates competition which in turn drives prices lower. With the ACA insurance premiums are HIGHER than what they were before. Why? Because im paying for the 2ppd smoker with COPD!

(also i'm not registered republican, im registered independant)

What no rebuttal? You made a claim, now back it up. You are deflecting now.

I made a claim that Donald Trump is very much like Adolf Hitler in that he wants to marginalize a group of people based on religion and ethnicity. This didn't go well for the millions of Jews and non-Aryans that died. Pay attention.

Donald Trump has made it perfectly clear how he feels about Muslims in America. If you cannot see the parallel between the two, then I really have nothing more to say to you. You can argue all you want, but if you say that you want to vote this bigot into office and that you agree with his politics, then it logically follows that you are bigoted as well.

No I don't, agree with segregating Muslims or banning religions. I do agree with increased background checks for immigrants coming from countries with terrorist connections. I do not agree with any bans on a group of people nor do I actually see them coming to fruition. One must make a demarcation between actual law/proposals and campaign rhetoric.

Yet you are supporting a man that wants to ban Muslims from entering America and isolate the ones that are already present. How is that even logical?

If you opened a history book you would know how WW2 started and it wasn't because of Hitler. If Hitler didn't exist another figure would have entered into the power vacuum since Germany during the interwar years was not even a viable country.

Hitler's rise to power wasn't because of him it was because of the situation the Allies put Germany in after WW1.

Enter:

1. Treaty of Versailles

2. Weimar Republic

3. Unconditional surrender and economic neutering of the Axis powers for total victory.

4. Stripping of cultural identity of the Germanic peoples by the Allies along with institutionalized revisionist re-education.

The comparison of Trumps political rise to Hitlers boggles my mind and is usually spouted by those who know nothing of the World War and inter-war years. Not only is the comparison misleading and hyperbolic it plays on emotional ignorance rather than historical facts.

And please refer to my post again:

I can't believe people support that racist, xenophobic Trump who is for banning Muslims from America and putting those that are already in this country into concentration -like camps.

Please read history folks. Someone already did something like that. His name was Adolf Hitler. Look how that turned out. Oh wait...

You can say and conjecture all you want, but please leave history alone. Your bastardization and crucifixion of the past makes my eyes bleed reading it. Proposing a temporarily ban on Muslim/Middle-Eastern immigrants until security measures are in place is not akin or parallel to the systemic extermination of a race. There is no parallel, comparison, relationship or foreshadowing, so just stop.

You can pick apart Trump's stance, beliefs and proposals all of you want, but leave historical anecdotes for those who actually know what they are talking about. If you want to open a symposium on the aftereffects of the World Wars and modern political fallout/ramifications resulting from them, I am game. However, pick up a few books before you join the fun otherwise its a waste of time.

Strawman, appeals to emotion and composition arguments are not welcome.

Telling her to "stop" because you don't like what she is saying, and telling her she's wrong without asserting your "rightness" except telling her that you know more about history than she does is kind of redundant as well.

I try not judge anyone's lifestyle choices and I would not deny treatment or have an issue with a single payer system funding that treatment.

At the end of WW2 the UK voted for the NHS and it's still working. Churchill said no matter who you are or where you are we will care for you. That's what I want.

Not every republican want this. Coverage for pre-existing conditions is expensive becuase they require more care. Do you want to pay for the 2ppd smoker who develops COPD?
