Wonderful topic! Some very eclectic tastes us nurses have! I am no different, music is very important to me and I have a wide range of favorites. Much of my spare money (what's that?) is spent on concerts. Classic rock and the blues are my favorites, esp. Allman Brothers Band, Beatles, Stones, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, John Mellencamp, BB King, Buddy Guy, Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Sonny Landreth.

I came on board with Dave Matthews recently after seeing him with Tim Reynolds live at a festival last year; what a talented and humble (so he seems) guy.

Classical is also a big fave. Glad to see Carmina Burana mentioned, I LOVE that piece, and had the thrill of hearing it performed live a few years ago. Debussy, Vaughan-Williams, Bach, Mozart, Prokofiev are favorites.

Throw in some jazz like Pat Metheny, and world music too. Love the Celtic stuff. I've been getting into the Gipsy Kings lately, they are quite good. If you haven't listened to them, they're worth checking out. Kind of a rock, flamenco sound and their story is very interesting. Los Lobos too, nice rocking sounds with a Latino twist. Saw them live recently and was blown away!

I just got interested in Sufjan Stevens here recently. Very nice voice, and very cool sound.

Thanks, LyndzBenz & Elvish. You gave me some new groups to try out. Sufjan Stevens' song about John Wayne Gacy is horrifying & beautiful all at the same time. The voice of the singer from A Fine Frenzy (Alison Sudol) reminds me of Tori Amos.

No need to be secret! Don't you think that "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" should be taught in kindergarten??:D

I think it's along the same lines as Harry Chapin's song Sniper, about the 1966 University of Texas mass shooting by Charles Whitman.

...and for something TOTALLY DISGUSTING, here's William Shatner trying to "sing" (?) Chapin's song Taxi:

My favorite is probably "The Elements", but also like The Kindly Old Dope Peddler, and We Will All Go Together When We Go.
