Ohhh, Queen! I'm the same way. I just turn it up and then get sad thinking "what if Freddie were still here?" Think of the awesome music that could've been. My 11 yr old daughter thankfully doesn't mind my going full volume on all things Queen.

My mom used to embarrass the jebesus out of me running into the room and doing "The Jerk" to my 80's music. Sheesh, mom. But now I totally do the running man to purposefully embarrass Poo Jr and her friends totally crack up (or they love laughing at me when I'm gone.) But, WHO CARES...I'm awesome at the running man!

Hhahahahahaha! This made me LMAO.

If I say anything even remotely "millennial" in front of my kids' friends they are mortified beyond words. I live for those moments.

I've learned that every time I hear Queen my heart soars, then breaks. Freddie Mercury was so amazing.

I've learned today was the slowest day because everyone was testing, and I prefer the kiddos in here.

I've learned how to fix broken glasses with a paperclip!

I've learned that I really don't need food lately, and I don't know what that's about, 'cause I usually NOM.

I've learned that just knowing Chaos is back and okay makes me happy.

Just a little hump day update.

*hugs* I love being back!

She's been very demure. Maybe we should start calling her "Organized".

Just because I got myself better & I might be medicated doesn't mean I'm not bitey.

Oh no, I'm sitting in the wings waiting to pop off. You just wait. ;)

Cali- those hotel reviews were impressive! Maybe he picked it because it "smelled like a bunch of truck drivers" (as a reviewer noted) & that's comforting to him?? Lol

But, yeah, next time- you pick!!

Hey, I'm managing to keep up with this thread today..........just.

Here is something I would like to learn today:

You know when you put your cursor on "Like" and click it, a large quotation sign shows up where the word Like had been. But if your finger hiccups and you click it again, there's a blue square (that appears in the same spot) which then turns red.

What's the meaning of this?

You know, I'm sure a lot of these non nurses think we are overreacting but I tend to think we are specifically upset about Medical Assistants largely they seem to be taking over areas and positions that were previously nurse territory. There are fewer outpatient opportunities and the acute opportunities are usually hiring only RNs. Despite the increase in acuity, nurse patient ratio also increases while pay is stagnant or even decreasing. These facilities are not utilizing CNAs or PCAs properly either, with tele and med surg floors often operating without them (and some tele floors without a monitor tech!) or having the aides sit with confused pts or expecting them to care for far too many pts as well.

It also get annoying when we see first hand how SOME MAs make some pretty big mistakes that LVNs and RNs likely would not make.

Nurses seem to be losing control and we need to get it back, for our sake as well as the patient's.
