Good morning!

Herring, too funny about the topic of conversation at the lodge before the young guys arrive.

J22, hail is an oddity around here but I've actually seen a couple of tiny pieces of hail.  Funny I just read in my novel I'm reading about a hail storm at the most opportune time to save the protagonists from getting themselves killed.  Sounds like a frustrating day at work.

Stars, sounds like one of those days.  Hopefully today will be calmer.

Ted, glad the back is doing better and that you're able to be active.

Dianah, hope you have a calmer and better staffed day.

Best friend's excision of his skin cancer went well.  He has eight sutures and hopefully it was all excised.  He'll get a report in a week on his follow up whether the margins are clean or not.

The movie Judy was pretty good.  I actually saw the play it was based on not too long ago.  Renee Zellweger did a good job but I thought her singing was a bit off but admire her passionate commitment to the role.

Have much in the way of housework and laundry and didn't want to get distracted on the internet, but needed to reschedule a jury summons I received so I thought I would stop by and say hello.

Good Morning!

Tweety - Gosh, I hope that your best friend is now free-and-clear from the skin cancer after the procedure.

Woke up awhile ago. Sleep was a little tough to get when repositioning myself in bed. The lower back is still tender and repositioning myself in bed seems to aggravate it.

I'm working tonight. As long as I use good body mechanics, going to work tonight shouldn't be an issue. This afternoon, I plan on doing some gently-paced walking.

Still have not started that on-line ACLS Recertification Course, yet. I can't procrastinate for too long. It seems that it will take a good amount of time to complete all of the modules to this on-line course. (Whimper and Whine. . . )

Nothing much going on, otherwise. Hope all have a pleasant day, today! 🙂

Ted

I feel OK in spite of remembering each hour of the night. Husband chose cornbread and buttermilk instead of the eggs or French toast I offered. When he was younger he made his own food and only ate what the kids and I had when he liked it. Because he seasoned his vegetables and pinto beans with smoked neck bones the kids said, "Dad cooks greans and bones and beans and bones."

I’m taking a quick break from my conference to walk about outside on a cool sunny day. We are supposed to be having a working lunch, but I gotta get up and move. I left my house at 5 am, will probably get home around 8 or 9.

I don’t cook breakfast for dh. He usually has toast during the week and eggs or oatmeal on the weekends. I best go back in, ugh, 3 more hours 😞

Oh My Goodness Gracious! The poor Atlanta Braves are being obliterated by the St. Louis Cardinals! In the first half of the first inning, the Cardinals scored E-L-E-V-E-N runs! Eeeek! Right now the score is 13-1, and we are at the ninth inning, so I kinda doubt there's going to be a last inning rally! *sigh*

Hubby cleaned house and I shopped for groceries. Nannie hasn't been too bad today, which isn't to say she's been good, just that so far there have been no kerfuffles going on.

Too bad hubby and I aren't 'free' enough to do this, but I was thinking how fun it would be: "They" are casting for extras for several movies, parts of which will be filmed here-abouts ... "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" (Yes, that's the title, and of course it's about Jim and Tammy Baker); also, 'background actors for scenes in "The Hunger Games", "Homeland", and "Iron Man 3".

It would be a nice, different, and interesting, ... and maybe fun at times, to hang-out-on-the-set, y'know, people-watching and all that. But, now, if 'they' would want to put me in a scene where we extras are standing in the sun and/or heat ... fuhgeddaboudit! If I can't have a canvas seat and an umbrella for shade, and an icy-cold green tea, I ain't a-gonna play!

Game's ovah, Braves lost (no, REALLY?) because no miracle happened in Muddville tonight. Y'all know what this calls for: a big ol' "OH WELL!"

Spoke too soon and hexed myself!

Nannie says (insists!) she went to a parade today and took her dog (the one she doesn't have) with her. She says: (take a breath, this is her stream-of-conscious speaking):

(she is:)  ".... trying to see about my stuff on the dog, and a used thing that was used two times; it was too old, in other words, too little. They have my male dog at the church, where they have 3 buildings and somebody said the reason we couldn't find them was because of ...what's the stuff on their back? Because that's all I ever, uh, uh, the weather turned bad and so the dog got sick, so later on they took him to the church, whose having a thing for dogs and cats and they called out his name and I hadn't ever heard it, I had two dogs and someone at the church said they would be better off if they took them. Where am I sleeping tonight? Where are you sleeping? I have a room down here, you say? And I stay here? Where are my things? And my car? I'm ready to go. Is it legal for me to sleep here?"

*sigh*

Today was a day of computer and support issues.  So frustrating.  A system upgrade that supposedly improved communication between two areas, had to be dis-installed because it caused our inpatient reports to freeze up.  And we NEEDED to be able to get those reports in the chart SAME DAY.

Got off on time though.  Hope the issues are being worked on.  Tomorrow is another day.

We are short-staffed and just really busy to get the exams done in a semi-timely manner.  I know pts have had to wait longer than usual.  I don't like that but there isn't much I can do about it.  I keep wondering how I can make things go faster but haven't come upon the magic potion or recipe yet.

Hope you all have a good evening!
