Good morning!

J22, that's too bad about the floods and not being able to work.  Getting the day off might not be bad though.  LOL

Stars, sorry to hear about your husband's drinking.  Interesting that it makes him open up like that.

Slowbro was insistent that 5AM was his breakfast time and I had to firm tell him to settle back down but I couldn't go back to sleep so I'm up.  My sleep patterns are still messed up.  I'm making him wait until precisely 6AM his usual feeding time.  But it's a good sign that his GI issues have passed.  He's lost some weight though and I he's getting extra.

Went to the movies for the first time in a couple of years.  Saw "The French Dispatch".  A really quirky movie but I enjoyed it.  It being an off the grid movie and it was 4pm on a Tuesday we were the only one's in the theater.  I read that movie going is 70% down from pre-pandemic.  Sad to see the demise like this and hope it comes back.  They had a sign about masks being optional.  I kind of figured it wouldn't be busy and didn't wear one.

Off today and need to mop the floors and cook and hope to make it to the gym.

Got our standings for our bowling team and apparently the team we were tied with had a winning night as well and we're both tied for last place still.  Oh well.....

Tweety I do the same with my cat, never feed her early so she won't wake me up

NJ22 that's a crazy level of flooding

Stars hope he keeps it under control when it comes to the drinking

Little busier at work yesterday in the afternoon, some emails and documents came in to review, but otherwise a pretty quiet day.  After work ran to the library and exercised.

Today will have some training at work, thankfully schedule is still pretty light, did some of today's work yesterday.  After work have to go to the grocery store and then have bell choir and choir practice.

Planning to get a Chromebook with my birthday coming up soon, think I know which model  and where I'm going to get it.   Have been using phones and tablets the last few years, but during my job search I found that many job related websites don't work well with mobile devices

Going to make some changes to how I view news.  We had a discussion at Bible study about that, and I've been thinking about how much I actually learn from the news and how much it's just on in the background.  Might need to approach that more mindfully

Will be warmer today, in the 60s, with rain, but by tomorrow will be back in the 30s

I made it to work today, lol. The flood waters have gone considerably. The local paper is estimating $10 million in damages to our county. I suppose that will likely go up as people return to their homes and assess damage. There is one person missing, presumably swept away in the flood waters. He was driving in the dark, got caught in rising waters, and tried to escape his car. Very sad. Today is clear and cold.

I am glad I don't have a pet that doesn't care much about food. He is actually rather picky about food, but that's okay, I am too.

I have heard about "The French Dispatch". I rather like quirky movies, although at times I'm not always sure what they are about, lol. I watched the latest episode of "Dope Sick" on Hulu yesterday, and its so good.  And I see another Downton Abbey movie is coming out. I do enjoy going to theatres, especially with very visual movies like period pieces.

I got my flu vaccine yesterday but was unsuccessful in getting a high dose one. Oh well. My arm is a wee tender, as usual. Beats having the flu!

Joe, that is an interesting thought about the news. I admit, I get a little obsessed, but get frustrated when the focus is on 2-3 items each day and it seems so biased.  News should be news, and opinions should be kept separate.

Stay dry and warm, all.

What *I* don't like about the news is, when the Network Anchor tells you what the next story is about, and then a reporter comes on and says, "That's right...." and goes on to say the same thing the Anchor just said. And it is, even if only sometimes just mildly, given a sensationalized slant....like what they call it online: "click-bait". But sometimes I am able to let things flow through one ear and out the other; hubby receives requests from me every evening to either NOT come down to the den to watch the news, or: NO YELLING AT THE TV SET> THE NEWS> THE ANCHOR PERSON> THE POLITICAL B.S or POLITICIANS! When he is squawking his (well-known) opinion, it's hard to hear what's being said. SOMETIMES it is something new that is said, but if someone is loudly protesting, it does drown it out. But OH WELL!!!

We had our HUMP-DAY Field Trip to our pharmacy at Walmart for Flu and Covid vaccines (J&J again; they saved three doses just for us because they REALLY like my husband a lot!) The pharmacist was not one of the 'regulars', she was brought in from another Walmart to give vaccines today. She didn't give a good injection, slow push of the needle in through the skin, and a little too high on the deltoid IMHO, and it felt like she knuckled the muscle when she slowly pushed on the plunger. One shot in each arm Hubby said he was getting the shots because, though he really didn't want either one, he was being a good husband and giving in to his wife's wishes. 🙄  But it's true that he didn't have a choice! 😀

Nannie enjoyed her outing by commenting on almost everyone she looked at, citing specifically size, weight, shape, skin-color, clothing/fashion, hair, tattoos, piercings, and all the newer ways people present themselves in public since she stopped doing all her own shopping five years ago. It gets so I hate when she says, "Look..."    Sometimes I get impatient and say, "YES, Nannie, I looked! I can see!  I was sitting right here with you when they walked by." Jimminy Crickets! Different generation, different state-of-birth location, and raising.  Just different X dementia X loosening social-filters. Whew!

Nap time has begun for Nannie;  hubby is on the front porch chatting with a neighbor. Ozzie is laying down at the top of the stairs. He may soon realize he didn't have his lunch, and it is nearing traditional suppertime. Yesterday he ate all of his meals quite late, AND demanded bedtime snacks! Nothing wrong with his appetite! // I called and left a message with the dog-groomer, but have yet to hear back.

All for the moment.........

HI-YA to everybody!

I admit, I am quite fascinated by the bright hair colors being worn. I am mildly tempted to try them, but my hair tends to be quite dry and I fear I would be left with straw after coloring.

But one look I have trouble with is women wearing tights as pants. I know it is their personal choice, but I wonder if they have seen what they look like, especially from behind.

Ma'am, your gluteal cleft is not nearly as attractive as you may think.

My mother always used to say that women who wore mini-skirts must have no idea what their knees looked like from the back.
