Good Morning!

J22, sorry about the ongoing frustrations with the pacer.  Glad you got the Eliquis coupon.  Maybe they didn't have it at the time.  I know sometimes we run out of the coupons and it's the luck of the draw who gets one and who doesn't.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, I hope that those preparing for the festivities aren't stressing.

I stopped to think that while I've had some financial challenges with appliances and now the computer, I've had a relative good year so far.  Much to be thankful for.

Haven't heard from the family in a couple of days but presume they are having a nice vice with the kids on the other side of the bay.  They are coming over tomorrow for Thanksgiving and we are going to a resort on the beach that serves a great buffet and is sold out.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Morning

Another productive day at work.  2 questionnaires completed.  I'm ahead of the game so far.  Should make today much easier.  And I'm off the next 2 days

Not productive with weight loss, 3 days off diet has meant a 3lb gain.  Which seems excessive. Based on past experience should significantly decrease by next week if I stick with it all week.  Will have to not go too crazy at Thanksgiving

Got exercise and some cross stitch done.  This project will likely take significantly longer than the last one

J got the dog from the airport yesterday, no problem.  Chances are we won't go out to eat tonight, he needs to spend a fair amount of time with getting the new dog oriented to a routine the next few days

Rainy yesterday, high winds expected today.  Will be cooler too.  Thanksgiving should be fine, no rain expected

Good morning Joe!

Yesterday I sat and talked with husbands friends. A retired engineer said, "When I was working I'd stop by the band, cleaners, and grocery on the way home from work. Now if I do such errands it takes the whole day."

Hi, getting frustrated at work. For some reason we have been having intermittent power outages, and even when it comes on, the computers are wonky. And the temp alarm keeps going off for the vaccine fridge. Oh well. I went for a run/walk this morning and it wasn't terrible. My calves have finally quit cramping and I'm not nearly as short of breath. It took me 4 weeks to complete the first 3 weeks using the app on my phone for increasing endurance.  When I left this morning, dh was preparing the brine for the turkey and cooking the giblets. He is picking up the grandkids at 12:30. The younger one is going to help dh make cranberry sauce and help me make apple pie when I get home. The older gs (grandson) will likely have a book to read.

Joe, it seems like you are rising to the challenge of change in your work. That makes sense that J would need to spend time with a new dog.

Tweety, I have been having issues with my mac too. I tried to run the malware app that Apple recommends, but it keeps closing too.

Hi herring. I agree that running errands seems to take forever. For me it's traffic, for which I have limited patience.

I hope every one has a pleasant Thanksgiving...

Hello

Supposed to clear up and be sunny and in low 60's, however, since it is 4:45 PM, I think we can count that out for today.

S'been a trial; Nannie's in one of her negative moods and she wants to 'fight' and argue over what she perceives (right now) is "going on." The accusations have flown from her mouth with such vitriolic language. She decided she was going to move out and gathered up some stuff from the mantel, ( a Santa figurine and her dog's ashes and foot-print tile) of course, she nearly fell backwards in the same spot where she fell and broke her wrist. Then she decided she'd take her heavy purse and go out the back door.

I followed at about 4 to 5 ft behind her, my cell-phone at the ready, in case I had to call an ambulance...Which REALLY ticked her off.

She was turning around partway to tell me off, and decided to squeeze between a small border of the flower bed in front of the shrubs, and stepped on the edge of the patio with half her foot, lost her balance, grabbed a wrought-iron garden-chair ...and over she went. No breaks or cuts. Hubby returned from his errand at just that moment. He called a neighbor to come over and help haul her up.

Since then she has been sitting in the recliner repeatedly fishing through her purse, and grunting with the effort.

Maybe when it gets darker she will go to bed, and instead of trying to keep her up until between 8 and 8:30 PM, we'll let her go to bed. Hopefully the sandman will sweep her memory of this afternoon from her head, and tomorrow will be a better day.

At least each of us got out (separately) for a few hours today. Did not want to inflict her, mid-tantrum, on someone who doesn't know her! Ordinary dementia, a CG could handle.

But this determination of hers today, to take off in her car, which she doesn't have keys for, or a valid driver's license to drive, it wouldn't be fair to expect the CG to calm her. She refuses to get calm. She loves stewing and steaming and will not be denied her way! Hubby said that has always been a key feature of her personality, and it ain't pretty.

Okay then...maybe two more hours until she goes to bed. Prolly will be an early-ish night for us, as well.

Tweety's Daily Diary post for today is in the LOUNGE under today's date; maybe someone can move it over to the Daily Diary here, where it belongs? Thanks!

Yep, I did it again and reported it, that's usually the best of of getting it moved.

I was just saying to someone yesterday, how I often repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Story of my life.  People try to help and give me suggestions thinking I can improve.  Bless their hearts.

I did the cobbler, two cheesecakes, and a yellow cake with chocolate icing. I also bought three sweet potato pies and two pecan. Next I'll make oatmeal cookies with cranberries for the blood drive.

Moved Tweety's post.

No Stars, sorry today has been such a Nannie trial.  😞  I hope tomorrow will be better.  Good you can get away sometimes.  One of these days she may break something when she falls...  can't prevent it when she won't let you help her, or use her common sense noggin.

nurseJ22, congrats on getting more stamina for exercising.  Good on ya!

herring, that's a lot of baking!!  Sounds good!

I worked an hour overtime, it was crazy today.  A few minutes doing case management, then doing a cath lab case, then a working lunch and an afternoon doing more case management.  I hope I didn't leave too much undone; will check with my office partner on Friday (though it will be via text, as I am off for the day).

Hope youngest ds and dil's travel tomorrow is smooth and without delays.  I am looking forward to visiting with them, and also enjoying the El Torito Thanksgiving Buffet. 🙂  I prepared Christmas stockings for the two ds's and for dil, will hand them over tomorrow as well.  Sunday we all talked about going to Disneyland and while it may be really crowded, we will enjoy seeing the decorations and lights!

Y'all have a nice evening!

Derp, I must be tired, or not paying enough attention.  After whiz-banging the threads around, I finally got the GM thread back where it belongs.  My apologies if anyone got dizzy going here and there and then back here again.

Oh, how I long to go to someone's place or a buffet for Thanksgiving dinner. This probably makes me sounds like a big ol' meany, but I am ready to let someone else host. But dd's and nice sister's houses are too small, eldest son goes to Canada for Thanksgiving. Not so nice sister gets so anxious about having anyone even consider entering her home that its not even an option. And M-I-L has cooked enough holiday meals. Someday...
