Good morning!

Stars, good luck with your phone.  Should be easy to get up and running.

J22, I hate that retail employees that are just doing their job are harassed like that.

It is interesting to see the inconsistencies around here.  The restaurant I was at had a sign "please wear a mask a little while longer to protect our employees" which is odd since not one person at a table was wearing a mask, because they were eating.  I went to 7-11 and they still had a sign up for masks, but the CVS right next door say no masks for the vaccinated.  Will be interesting to see in the next few weeks how this affects infection rates among the unvaccinated.  There area I lived posted it's lowest number of hospitalizations since last October, but the state posted 97 deaths which was the highest in a few months.  And so it goes.....

Dinner and the beach were nice last night.   Slept well because I took a muscle relaxant for some neck pain.

Nothing much on the agenda today, other than some laundry and cooking.  I need to go into work and work on some training.  I still can't seem to bring it up on my home computer.   Hope everyone has a great day.

Tweety I think we're going to see inconsistencies like that for a while.  Good that hospitalizations are decreasing, even if deaths are up

NJ22 that must be frustrating for your DH.  Hope they can finally get that medication issues straightened out

Stars we make 5 calls to someone, usually once a week though not more than once a day.  We leave a message if no answer.  Most of the time people don't call you back

Hi Amo

Work was better yesterday, quiet enough that I got some of today's work done early.  Which is good as I have an additional call to make today

After work exercised and had an online meeting with a local political group.  They were talking about people running for local government.  I've thought about it, but I fear I'm probably too busy between existing political stuff, work, and church.  Having that overextended feeling

No weird dreams last night, woke up once or twice and fell back to sleep.  There were dreams but I don't remember them

After work today have the usual trips to the bank/bakery/grocery stores, then tonight have bell choir practice, we're performing this Sunday

Weather was a little rainy yesterday, some rain today too, will be nearly 80.  Will be in the 80s the next couple days

Good Afternoon -

Apparently it's somebody's Birthday today! The "obligatory beaching-loving" Birthday Boy doesn't look a day over 49. . . errrr. . . 39 years old!! 😄 (Enjoy your day!)

Just woke up from First Sleep. Because I'm off from work tonight, my Second Sleep probably won't take place until the "usual" bed-time later tonight.

Work last night. . . Somebody(!) said the "Q" word!! Way too loudly, and way to clearly!! (Whine!) It was my turn to float, so I played the role of Mr. ER Nurse for most of the shift. The people just kept coming in to our teeny-tiny hospital's ER. It seemed relentless! Of course, I'm not as fast as the full-time ER Nurses, but I held my own. With the exception of one patient, there was no really sick individuals. Just a whole lot of aches & pains, upset tummies, small lacerations needing stitches, and the usual "please take this tick off me" individuals. The ER calmed down around 1:00 AM this early morning. At around 4:00 AM it was "Q" enough so that I offered the night Shift Director to go home early. She accepted my offer. So, at around 4:15 AM, I changed roles and became Mr. Shift Director for the remainder of the shift.

Tonight . . . We're having friends come over for dinner. (Yep! We actually have friends!! LOL! 😛 ) We haven't seen them in a long time (due to the pandemic). Sadly, they're in the process of selling one of their homes (because of retirement plans) and will be moving farther away from us. Still, they'll be keeping one of their homes which is located in Upstate New York. (Their other home is in Arizona. So, they'll be doing the "Snow Bird" thing post-retirement.) Looking forward to our dinner plans with them tonight. It's a lovely day outside, so we'll be eating dinner "outside" on our screened-in porch.

Working tomorrow night. (Hopefully it'll be much "Q-er" tomorrow!!) Then Friday, Amy and I set forth to get our puppy! Friday evening, we'll be having dinner with one of our niece & nephew. (They live about an hour's drive away from where we'll be picking up the puppy.) Then Saturday morning, we pick up our new and beloved Sedona (the apricot-colored female Woodle)! She's a cutie!!! Of course we'll be taking LOTS of pictures of our new canine-family member. 🙂

Now?!? I'm going to do some video-editing of the dance recital(s) that I video-recorded this past weekend. It's a slow process for sure. But editing a little here, and a little there, will ultimately get the project done.

Hope all have a pleasant day today! Peace! 🙂

Ted

Good late morning. The weather is almost chilly. It has gotten down to 40 degrees 2 nights in a row, likely because we planted the tomatoes in the ground. The sun is trying to peek out between the dark clouds. I finally got my med reordered!  But it's only for 2 months, but hopefully the process goes smoother next time. I also found out the pharmacy didn't get an order for my procedure prep, and they warned me that they need more than the usual lead time. So a call to the gastro to tell them, and of course they sent the order to the pharmacy I don't use. I suppose its job security for them to take so many steps, so many calls, and send so many forms out. I hate inefficiency, does it show? lol. And my treadmill today to fine tune my pacer for cycling got canceled, after 2 reschedules. Argh. This fancy schmancy do-dad in my chest doesn't know to speed up when I am trying to cycle uphill, and was told they may be able to adjust for that. Well, not today.

Lots of phone calls today, at work. Just talked with a very nice person in Napa County, CA. And lots of phone tag with provider offices.

Ted, I would need someone to remove a tick for me. They just gross me out. And I had a rash once that was presumed Lyme disease a couple of years ago, so I would freak out if I had a tick.

Joe, kudos for considering running for office but I think it's quite a time commitment. Perhaps at another time. Politics is just so mean right now.

Tweety, that is a pain that you can't access the training from home. Nice to see you had a good time at dinner and the beach.

Stars, hope the phone set up goes smooth. And that Nannie is over the clock/time fixation.

Most businesses here are still asking customers to mask (except when eating in a restaurant), but the little town where dh's office is really hostile about it. And of course, they have the lowest vaccination rate in the county.  Case counts and hospitalizations are still not going down.

I will look in later. Cheers.

Whose birthday? I'll wish Happy Birthday regardless .....

This dry weather is too much. NJ has had 2 areas of forest fires - in Ocean County and Burlington also. Have a girlfriend in Browns Mills (just a rock's throw from an admission gate to Fort Dix).  The fire in Burlington is a short distance away from her, but I used to pass by the area when I drove to my last job. South Jersey is home to the NJ Pinelands (and the Jersey Devil). It is quite forested in several areas. It's an odd experience when one freq 'reads' about forest fires in some OTHER area (like in Cali). But when it's nearby, it's different.

Ted - I bet the anticipation is becoming CRAZY waiting for your puppy! You'll be a great 'puppy parent'!

My GF commented that TV channels here in our area seemed to have stopped posting 'the numbers' re covid for the tri-state area. Hmmmm....  Coincidental to the lifting of restrictions .... I have mixed emotions re same.

Studies are now coming out that states with the lowest vaccination rates, i.e. Mississippi vs. states where vaccinations rates are high, like Vermont are showing higher case numbers.  You think?  A coworker said he was on the east coast of Florida this week and he said no one was wearing a mask anywhere.  It's unlikely they have a 100% vaccination rate there.  Here on the west coast people are reluctant to take off their masks.  Which is probably why my counter even though there's a million of us crammed in the most densely populated county in the state has one of the lowest infection rates.

Anyway, glad you got your meds straightened out.

Ted, enjoy the day off.  I used to hate having just one day off when I worked night shift.  Mess up the sleep patterns too much for just one day.  I usually just kept the same patter and pottered about all night on the night off.

I'm procrastinating going to the gym and grocery store.

GOOD AFTERNOON!

No Stars sent me  wishes and prayers that truly lifted me up!

Thank you Tweety, Joe, amoLucia, Ted & Amy, nursej22, Dianah, BC gradnurse, and whoever slipped my mind.

I mostly feel good and very hopeful. I can walk to the store. I finally got a smarts phone that I only use to order Lyft rides. Soon I will start a Low Vision clinic. They will let me know when to refer me to a driving school when I'm ready. My vision is still improving so they want me to wait six more weeks because I may or may not need driving glasses with a prism. When I first has the stroke I could only see two letters this size. Now I can seen nine! But for now watch PBS and

I plan to get a device to listen to books, but for now watch PBS fiction AND a few other TV shows.

Reading is still VERY frustrating. Hopefully the clinic will help because I MISS YOU GUYS!

Good evening, friends!

My brain-brain, the real one, is wiped out for the day. I spent the AM getting back with the wifi, etc provider. A very nice customer-service tech-man helped me get into the on-line site, which was impossible to do yesterday because neither hubby nor I, and most especially not Nannie, had any clue of what her URL was, or any password that might have been on the acct., mainly because someone else did it for her, what, 5-6 years ago, and it hasn't been used in about that long, because, remember, she got scammed out of about $2,000, and the computer is GONE now.....Anyway, I've got a new name, password, and everything else set up (automatic w/d payments) WHILE the guy stayed on the line with me. He was very, VERY helpful, and good-natured about my ineptitudes.

Hubby said the woman across the street has the same kind of cell smaht-phone as was sent to me (...my gracious goodness, the damn thing arrived today! I didn't even have the promised 5-7 days for delivery, during which I'd planned to decompress.) and she has volunteered to help me set it up. But, I can't even think of doing that until tomorrow or the next day. It will have to all be done (transferring contacts, etc) by hand, individually, because you can't lay a flip-phone beside the new smaht-phone and expect them to interact and trade the info. I do not intend to use the new phone for anything I didn't/couldn't do on my own soon-to-be 'old' phone. I do not want a bunch of apps for things I can do on my laptop. I know that is kind of ignorant statement to make, but really, I know my comfort and speed limits. I may change my mind EVENTUALLY, but, as my mother once told an ex-boyfriend of mine when he asked her how he could 'get me back', she said that all she could tell him was: "DON'T PUSH HER!" There are places on this earth where evidence of my heels digging in are still visible, all these many years later!

I also did all the math of bill-paying, since hubby's SS check arrived today, subtracted the automatic payments, balanced the check-book as close as I could 😓. I put off a bunch of errands until tomorrow 'cause I just didn't feel like being out and about.

The ballgame is on now, so here we go through Nannie's usual remarks, which now also include numerous complaints about all the time 'they' waste by occupying the screen with commercials instead of just letting us watch the game.

Bless her heart, her sister-in-law called hubby and he came down afterwards and gave her a brief run-down of what was said, but first he had to explain who her sister-in-law is and where she lives and then....the real kicker ....She called hubby to say she had fallen in her ass't-living apartment and could not get up from the floor. So hubby hung up and called the facility to tell them she was on the floor, then he called her back and was on the phone w/ her when help came to get her up off the floor. (She was trying to pick up an earring she had dropped.) I don't know why she couldn't call their nurse's station or 911. But, she is kind of mentally going through some of what Nannie is experiencing, Honestly, hubby doesn't even let them have a conversation because they are both so confused!

OK, over and out!

PS: YAY, and HIP-HIP HURRAY! Good to hear from you herring! Stay safe and healthy!

It was SO GOOD to see you post, herring!  And to get updated about what's what and what's going on!  It was encouraging that your vision is coming back, and that there are aids that will help, even if vision doesn't return at 100%.  We look forward to your next update, and wish you continued improvement!
