Good Morning!

Back to the grind.  Sure was nice having 4 days off in a row again, but it went by too fast.

Scheduled to do charge.  My student will be with me Sunday.  She has until May to finish so she's taking her time.  She's doing well.

Anyone remember the "older nurse" that used to post with us daily.  I believe she worked Oncology and worked the night shift.  Wonder what happened to her?

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Tweety.  Can't quite remember who that was

Hi Stars

Amo I've started taking 400IU of D, to make up for what I don't get with my multivitamin

Ted I wonder if your internet connection is perhaps a bit slow, being out in the country

NJ22 I'm planning to ride my bike when it gets warm enough

Coworker was still out yesterday, could've been bad but thankfully no one was answering the phone.  Well, mostly no one.  Had one unpleasant conversation with an unhappy person, thankfully that wasn't as bad as it could've been.

After work ran an errand and did more cross stitch and exercise

Sleep was good though I did get up briefly to read. I could've sworn that I was up early tossing and turning a bit before the alarm and before I got up to read, but the app clearly shows I was snoring until a few minutes before then.  Guess it goes to show that perceptions of sleep  are often off

Hoping the coworker is back today

Have been doing some spiritual reflections given that this is Lent, which I prefer over giving up stuff

Weather will be up to the 50s today

Good Morning -

Tweety - Glad that you had 4 nice days off from work. Certainly enjoyed seeing your "obligatory beach" photos on FB. Hope work is kind to you and your nursing student today. As for remembering the name of that "older nurse" who used to post here?!? I don't remember either. Could that he or she be one of the many people who can be seen fairly regularly on FB?? There are a number of former allnurses friends who used to post here but can now be seen on FB. (It's interesting how that all evolved.)

Joe - The slowed internet connection could have come from my end. Although we pay good $$$ to have "blazing fast" (1 GB/s) internet speed, there might have been issues with my computer. I did a little "tweaking" to my computer last night. Afterward I was able to download the rest of the "virtual instruments" for my audio software program at really fast speeds (28+ MB/s verses 1.5 MB/s). As for apps that monitor sleep?!? I have one on my FitBit watch. Don't now how accurate it is, though. It'll say that I was sleeping at a certain time when I was clearly up and about in my studio. LOL! Maybe your app is more accurate than mine?!? LOL! Still, it's nice to read that you've been sleep better. That is all that matters. 🙂

Was up a good portion of the night downloading those "virtual instruments (aka "VIs"). They're produced from a company (in Germany) called Vienna Symphony Libraries. These VIs are high-quality sounding orchestral instruments that I've been purchasing over the past few years. (They're not cheap!) A composer, orchestrator or arranger can use these VIs to create realistic-sounding orchestral works. Since I'll never have enough $$$ to actually hire a real orchestra to play my original compositions, using these VIs is the next best thing to do. LOL! So, today?!? I'm gonna focus on working on this composition that I started a couple of weeks ago; gonna exercise those atrophied brain-cell muscles that deal with music-writing. (Ouch!) I reviewed what I started and liked what I heard. I also actually have a plan in place to develop and finish this project. So, AWAY I Go and compose, compose, compose. LOL!

Nothing much else going on. Hope all have a pleasant day today!
Peace! 🙂

Ted

Slept well, but woke up at 4 AM ... HUNGRY! I had a baking-powder biscuit with Fig Jam on it and 1/2 glass of milk. Went right back to sleep after that.

Beautiful, sunny day out there ... a tad cool, but quite tolerable.

I can't remember the screen name of that nurse Tweety asked about. There's a bunch of folks that have kinda dropped out of this thread.

Welp, today is the day for me to do laundry; Hubby took the car out to get it washed and cleaned. Nannie's already done two trips out to walk the driveway, with nine laps each outing. Hubby's dgt was discharged in the afternoon yesterday and said she feels sore and tender, but is otherwise okay.

Onward to the clothing spot-treatments ....

It's sunny here, but of course, the sun didn't emerge until I was leaving for work. I think the rain is supposed to return tomorrow. I did a run before work and my legs were complaining about yesterday's bike ride, lol. We didn't do that great last night at trivia, but it was pretty entertaining. One of the categories was dancing, and the host had to demonstrate. And it was hilarious. He also offered clues with each on, but I had never heard of some of these dances, like the laffy taffy, or the Steve Martin. Dh brought home Mexican food from a little place we just discovered. I had a veggie burrito. Well, I had half, and ate the other half for lunch. It was pretty good, with lots of fresh cilantro. And work is work. The crazy one took a trip out of state last week and even though she is vaccinated they are making her quarantine for 14 days. And she thinks I should move my schedule around to accommodate, but I have several appointments on the days she thinks I should work, things I have already rescheduled because of the bad weather. Too bad, so sad.

There's not really that much happening in our program for now anyway, so its not like their shorthanded for a couple of days. COVID cases are way down, but our reporting system has so many bugs that who can tell. I hope its true.

Learned something about cilantro the other day. I don't really care for it and the TV news snippet explained that there are some people who actually have a true DISLIKE/DISTASTE for cilantro. They find the taste unappealing and yucky. And then it's familiar/genetic. Family members as a group don't like cilantro. I guess there's exceptions - my sister spices up everything. My tastes have become more bland over the past few years.

There is a God in heaven, and all the clouds opened up today for the sun to shine through!!!

Covid vax may be able to be arranged!!!!  Seems my county Health Dept has arranged securing vax for home bound clients through Johnson & Johnson. They're reaching out to the homebound client population currently served thru Meals-on-Wheels. A nurse will come out to administer the injection. Request are needs very quickly. I just need to hand back their request ASAP.

So HIP HIP HURRAY!!!!!!

My sister said she heard something similar on TV the other day.

What a godsend for me.

I have heard that about cilantro. Apparently it tastes like soap to some, but I love it.

Good news, indeed about your vax.

Tried it once. Never again. Cilantro tastes icky. . . like soap (with no thanks to my genes)! 😛

It's slipped into many Italian, Greek and TexMex recipes. It just has a soapy taste. Just like folk use basil or oregano. Just a little bit is not too bad, but it doesn't take much to detect it.

OK to leave it out. Also find that fresh garden rosemary is too woodsy, like a pine tree, for me.

I have developed a taste for fresh rosemary, especially in shepherds pie.   I choose the most tender shoots and chop it fine. Yeah, it may taste like a pine tree, but I like gin and that tastes like turpentine.
