Stars that does sound like a lot of work, wonder if she should see a podiatrist

NJ22 glad you said no and got out on time

Hi Amo

Tweety glad you know when so say no to extra shifts

Hi BC

Another fairly good day at work.  So far my "bad week" isn't proving too bad.  Helps that I have little else to do this week.  Had forgotten the "bad week" continues until next Monday, which could be busy.  We'll see, glad things are OK today

Was going to eat out with the church group, but allergies started acting up and my throat was unusually sore.  So I decided to cancel, just in case it was Covid

And so I won't always be wondering if allergy symptoms are in fact Covid, I got a Covid test yesterday, first time since the pandemic started.  Rapid test was negative, as I expected, regular test results in a day or two

Kept my mask on and ran a few errands instead.  Rest of the day was fairly calm

Today after work have grocery shopping and Bible study.  Will try to squeeze in exercise in as well

Starting to get cooler after several very warm days

Joe, glad you got tested even though you knew it was.  Testing is important.  Hope you're "bad week" continues to not be so bad.

Thanks Amo for the thoughts.

Boogers and gnarly toenails...you are indeed a Saint Stars

Off today.  Doing some meal prep for the coming days and heading to the gym later.

I hate to be on my high horse about covid these days but am really frustrated with Florida and people in general.  I just read an article about an ER nurse in Orlando that was unvaccinated and he and his wife were both hospitalized.  An ER nurse with a five year old.  Why would an ER nurse that's probably seen the destruction of covid not get vaccinated and risk his daughter not having a father?  I try to understand the virus is not their fault but really sickness, hospitalizations and death at this point isn't necessary.  We're back up to 15% positivity...blah blah blah.  And so it goes......

Our cases numbers continue to rise, although slower than other parts of the state. Sigh. You can bet if and when a booster comes out I will be in line!

I am sitting here waiting for the crazy one to come so I can give her report, and then I have the afternoon off, woo hoo. The heat is supposed return this weekend, although not as hot as before, plus the smoke may come in. Sigh, again. Nothing exciting planned for my up coming days off, except an eye exam. I was supposed to go for a pacer check, but that had to get rescheduled due to an illness in their office. I hope it wasn't COVID.

Joe, good for you for getting tested and glad that it was negative.

Later, kids.

Late afternoon during another very HOT, humid day~

And tomorrow + the next day are going to be even hotter...97 and 98 degrees. They haven't talked about thunderstorm spots, but you know, the way it has been going, I wouldn't be surprised if we get some. Yesterday early evening there were a lot of big, heavy gray clouds threatening, and distant thunder, but it never came any closer, so we had no rain. It's weird to go out on the porch at night and it still be like 74 degrees out there.

Yeh, this Covid Variant has me a bit nervous, too, which is why I still wear a mask in public. Of course the only public places I go are the grocery stores or pharmacy. But still, now everyone is increasingly argumentative about needing or not needing masks. With schools opening up soon, I expect there to be another big brouhaha over whether or not the kids should wear masks. It doesn't make any sense to me that people are pointing fingers and blaming Republicans, Democrats, or any one else! It makes me smh everytime I hear that politicizing of COVID. The virus doesn't give a damn about anyone's politics, and paranoia about 'the other party' trying to screw-- or unscrew -- the USA residents is just plain crazy! How does that argument hold up when thinking about India, England, Italy, etc., where the virus has flared up again and again? As far as I am concerned, it is the fault of those who don't want to be safe from getting or transmitting the virus, and denounce the vaccines and the masks. Get a grip, people!

I remember a cartoon I saved from, oh say, maybe 35 or more years ago...It shows a message written in clouds, which reads, "The World Has Temporarily Lost Its Sanity ---- Please Stand By."   Huh! It ain't "temporary" any more!!!

Braves won 12 - 6 yesterday. Another game tonight.

As usual at this time of the afternoon, hubby and Nannie are each reclined and have closed their eyes (tho I'm not sure if they are both asleep or not.) Ozzie is resting in front of the glass front door upstairs. He sees shapes and motion, and only sometimes barks at them, if they come closer than the end of the driveway.

Guess it is time to look at the bills and write some checks. No, Tweety, I still haven't seen to getting the laptop straightened out so I can use gmail. One of these (or those) days....maybe...! Truth be told, I feel too lazy to deal with it. OH WELL!

Some good amount of time later......

I talked hubby into going to the ER ... he has had a bad cough that has gotten (IMHO) worse. He also has been complaining about stomach 'discomfort' (he says it's NOT 'pain') for a few weeks. The quickest appt he could get w/ PCP is next Tuesday, and I don't want him to wait that long to be checked out. It could be his emphysema or COPD getting worse, because he still smokes like a chimney. It could also be something like, I dunno, walking pneumonia or whatever. Anyway, he's been feeling pretty lousy, and I didn't want to have him go through the weekend before he is seen. I've been cringing when he has those coughing spells. He kept trying to put off being seen, but this time I said, "NO!" So, he just got trundled off to the ER. If I have to go pick him up later, I'll just pop Nannie into the car and take her with me.

All for now~

2 & 1/2 hrs later......hubby's had an EKG and a chest x-ray, but he isn't even back in an ER bay. He says they are so covered up, they have him waiting in the waiting room, because so far he hasn't been seen by an ER Dr. yet. That's it for now~

Y'know, I didn't even think about this, but on the news, they said the air quality is bad. Well, hubby sits outside a LOT, not just when he is smoking. Not being active, just being outside and away from Nannie. It's possible he's may have to rein in that habit, during these too hot days, along with his smoking, naturally.

11:30 PM---Hubby called around 10:15 PM and said he still had not been seen by a Dr yet! The ER must have been super busy! Of course, hubby wasn't broken or bleeding, so I reckon that's why he has had such a long wait. (Worst to come in are first served.)  Anyway, Nannie is in bed, and I just brought Ozzie up to our room because he always indicates around 11:20 that he is ready to go to bed. I will be reading as I usually do before I'm ready to sleep. Have the phone in my pocket, I am on stand-by alert. I hope I don't have to go out to pick him up like 2 AM or something, but ---- we'll see. If I do have to go out, I'll just lock Nannie in. She'll be fine.
