Good morning!

Hi Joe, hope the ordinary day proved to be okay.

Amo, that's a lot of rain.

We're having our typical rainy reason here where it's hot all day and rains a bit in the afternoon, but not a lot.

The class was okay.  We got out a little early.   A few people that have used this system say they like it better than the one we currently use, and I don't see it.  It's still just as annoying.  What I do like is that for systems we are allowed to hit "WDL" meaning "within defined limited" instead of having to click "lungs clear" or "bowel sounds present"so we'll see in practice if that's easier.   Nonetheless I have no say so in the matter and it seems as easy system to navigate.

Another coworker came in and did charge for the nurse with covid and they didn't need me thankfully.  Another coworker was already scheduled to work for the nurse with covid today so that nurse could go to the computer class.  Guess she'll miss the class, but the floor is covered.  Glad to hear it because I have stuff to do today.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Tweety that was good that they didn't need you today

Amo that is a lot of rain

Stars it has been gettting warm and humid the last day or two

NJ22 I think a coworker like that would drive me crazy

Work was good, if a little busy at times.  Got the extra calls made, so no weekend calls for me, at least not this week

Made a quick run to the store and the bank, then exercised and worked on embroidery

Am continuing to limit news consumption and steer clear of political sites and social media.  I do seem calmer, and have more time as a result

Today have to do the grocery shopping and stop at the laundromat after work.  Still no washers and driers here although I understand the condo board has finally purchased new ones, so hopefuly I won't have to go to the laundromat much longer.

Online Bible study tonight too.  Going to be a busy few days...vestry meeting tomorrow after work (in person), J's family is having a get together Friday night, then a special vestry meeting Sat morning to discuss the renovations to the rectory

Weather will be a bit warmer today, in the upper 80s, though rain should hold off at least until tomorrow (which is why I'm doing all of that stuff after work today).  Will be cooler after today with rain expected

Trying a new tea bag flavor - Celestial brand 'Peppermint Peak'. Fas some diff flavors than just their plain peppermint. Find I'm liking it.

Joe - I'm thinking. Was it your Dad who had the CVA little while back? How is he doing?

Bought a couple new items from the local grocery and am seriously disappointed. One item was a choc sunflower nut butter - nut butters tend to be on the oily side and trying to stir it up is like trying to mix sludge or quicksand. The other item was cashew butter - when mixed it too is rather loose, not textured like reg peanut butter.

Am noticing that things I was routinely buying, have now become not avail. Like I was just starting to like lemon hummus - no more. Or generic pretzel rods - no more. Other items too. I'm beginning to feel paranoid.

Hi Amo

Yes it was, thank you for asking about him.  He's doing very well, with just a touch of residual right sided weakness

Hi all-

We're seeing a bit of sun after a long stretch of clouds and rain.  It's a welcome sight.  Work has been quite busy, and I'm spending evenings trying to straighten out things with my mother's house.  It's really the only time I can talk with my sisters.  I've been watching a really good series on HBO Max, that I think you can also access if you have Amazon Prime.  It's called Mare of Easttown and stars Kate Winslet.  I think she does a terrific job with her role.  I highly recommend it if you can see it.

This weekend I'm going to a 30th B-day party for DS's GF.  Her parents have a beach cottage and it's being held there.  I hope it doesn't rain!!  I also secretly hope he got her an engagement ring for her birthday.  It's been 6 years.  Time to put a ring on it!

Stars-I am hoping your Dh is feeling better and is considering getting some help.

Amo-I'm a tea drinker, too.  My favorite is Constant Comment.

Tweety-Glad you didn't have to go in to work.

Joe-I'm glad to hear your Dad is doing well.

Hi to J22, Dianah, Ted, Herring.  have a good night!

Don't be paranoid, amoLu! I can guarantee you that if you find a product you REALLY like, within 6 months it will not be available, and emails and/or phone-calls to the company won't make any difference! I know this from a LOT of similar experiences! I could list about a dozen products and companies that have "done this to *ME*..." and it makes me SO mad! JIF used to make almond butter and cashew butter that were blended, so they didn't need to have the oil mixed back into them. And they were really GOOD! But do they make them any more? NOPE! Because we bought and ate them every week, (even at $6.75 per jar!) and used them ... until they disappeared from the shelves entirely and we could not find them anywhere any more. (Here's my non-cussing cuss-word- substitute: CHOCOLATE-FUDGE RIPPLE!!!! )

Tweety, Good luck with the  🤔 "NEW! 😕  IMPROVED!" 😝   computer program!  We all know how I feel about 'puters, so I won't add anything else about that here!

Sister-in-law, wife of Nannie's hateful #2 son, asked if we wanted her to bring her mom's no-longer-in-use recliner/lift chair over here for Nannie. Her Mom can't fit it in to her new room at the nursing home. At first hubby said "Nope! I don't want anything they have!" I didn't say: "Well that's pretty stupid!"  Those chairs aren't cheap, and the recliner she sits in now has a deep sink-hole at the site of one's right-side buttock, and the foot rest won't go up any more, nor will the back recline! I mean, it's only 30 years old! But before I could text SiL back, hubby changed his mind and said she could bring it over if she could also bring someone to help her lift it and move it into place, because neither of US can do those things anymore. I think it would be great for Nannie to have a chair that actually FUNCTIONS! Of course, teaching Nannie how to use the control to make it do-its-thing will be a challenge, but it's not like we aren't here to help her with that, or do it for her. So, that ought to take place at the beginning of next week. w00t.

The afternoon's threat-of-a-thunderstorm-in-spots clouds have moved in. Now Nannie is afraid it will bring something extremely terrible/bad/dangerous to THIS house, and that the worst thing that could happen, WILL happen: We'll be hit by lightning! It will set the house on fire! The tree will fall on the house! The den will flood! Hubby said she's always been 'worst-case-scenario' fearful of just about anything. For instance, a while ago hubby went out to the store and the bank, and he'd asked us if we wanted him to bring home a SUBWAY sandwich for us to split. So, natch we said yes. Then he hadn't been gone longer than 12 minutes and she started fretting, "I hope he wasn't in an accident!" I mean REALLY!  🙄 OY! And now, with the clouds doing their dark-and-cloudy build up, she asks, "Are we supposed to have a storm tonight?" She slept through the 10-15 minute storm we had last night and NOTHING HAPPENED! But, she informed me, that doesn't mean that something won't happen tonight. I don't have the energy to stand up and scream and jump up and down, so I said, "All we can do is wait and see."  HA! How comforting is that? Nannie, you have no control over the weather and it is not personally against you, I did not say. Maybe she needs some of Ozzie's BACH's Rescue Remedy. Maybe *I* need it more than SHE does so I won't become a tornado of frustration in this den!

OKAY, then, that's MY venting ... for the time being.

 😊 All beddah now!

Just turned on the TV and there was the weather guy pointing to a map and saying that the storm is moving directly toward this town and should arrive here at 7:02 PM. I told Nannie to keep an eye on her clock, but she didn't find that humorous. OH WELL!

Hi. I sometimes enjoy tea in the afternoon at work. I like it because even if it gets cold its still drinkable. I like plain old fashioned black/orange pekoe tea. My preferred brand is Red Rose, but there has been some Tetley tea at work that I have enjoyed. Lipton is to mild--almost no taste. Mint reminds me of toothpaste.

Got out of work  at 1 without too much fuss, then did a short run by the harbor. I sent an email to a research site in Seattle concerning vaccine boosters to volunteer to be participant (guinea pig). I don't know if they'll take me, but I would like to contribute.

My sis texted me to say she's gone back into atrial flutter and has to go back to the cardiologist , except this time she doesn't feel as tired. I will of course go with her if she asks. And I have an echo scheduled tomorrow, which I am doing grudgingly because I think it is a waste of money and time.

I got a pleasant surprise phone call last night from the GI doc. I had sent an email asking for an explanation of why I felt so crummy after the procedure and how to prevent it next time. We had a nice discussion and for once, felt heard.

A new recliner would be really nice. Hopefully, its some hideous pattern, lol.  I am a bit of a worry wart when people are late. Dh did come home late one night from a seminar and said "Don't get upset, but I was in a car accident on my way home."  Another time ds went to a concert and then came home and  tried to have me give him written permission to go to the ED to get stitches.

Getting used to a new computer system is not too awful if there are superusers around to keep you from getting too bogged down. Its tough though, when they just throw you in the deep end and its sink or swim.

Weather here remains cool, in the 70s, but a drought emergency  as been issued for most of the state. We are already on a mandatory watering schedule so I don't think it will affect us much, except for fire danger.

I've been watching Mare of Easttown. Winslet is good and Jean Smart is too, as the mom.

stars - you have this little mischevious (sp?) streak in you!!!

Most emphatically - GET  THE CHAIR!!! So what if she struggles with the controls, YOU & Hubs will find it comfortable. Just know, if it's fabric covered, get protective padding. But if it's vinyl-y covered, you'll still need some kind of cover. Those chairs are MEGA-heavyweight. One it's placed, it'll be there for life! Get SiL to deliver it  and then some church guys could help move it. Heavy & expensive. I also need Nan's birthday.

BCgrad - because of you, I tried the Constant Comment some time back.  I like it too, but I'm still looking for another fav.

That dang fly is still moping around. Did you ever wonder where flies disappear to in the house after a while? Like I never see a great 'dead fly graveyard'.

My 'Ms.Cheevy Ous' streak is a quite a little bigger than little! But I try not to hurt eenybodie wif it. I just think things up to make myself feel better. It's a coping device(ivness?)....
