The Caravan - page 2

"I think what we have seen is we've seen clearly an organization at a higher level than we've seen before. We've seen violence coming out of the caravan and we've seen as they've passed other... Read More

I'm waiting for your source from the BBC that claims the caravan is mostly women and children.

Why are you repeating your question. The troops are there as a deterrent, a resource to manage people, and to keep the peace and protect the border.
And, if you think all our military does is go around a kill people, you are grossly misinformed and/or ignorant.

Touch a nerve there did I Dude?

I came back on just now to make it clear that my earlier remarks were in no way meant to be derogatory of your troops. I understand that Americans see their military very differently than Europeans see theirs.

    But as for killing people your army cannot help themselves;

That's what your picking up on? Whether I got it wrong by saying "mostly" instead of "largely?" Well if it makes you feel better go ahead, crow a little. "Daft Brit got it wrong! I win!"

    Changes nothing.

I repeated my question because you did not answer it. Crowd control is not what they are trained for and why 5000? There will be nowhere near that many refugees in the caravan when they get to the border.

I can't believe you are all playing his game.

Actually you remind me of an American doctor I used to spar with on the internet. I asked him about American military victories since 1945 and he gave me Yorktown.

I thought this was hilarious, too.

BTW- John Adams defended those British soldiers.

    He won his case.

Did you miss my first answer both times? Deterrent.

There may not be 5000. Im betting much less. But it wouldn't surprise me if many more.

The Boston Massacre isn't any less relevant to this conversation then is Kent State.

    OMG--the last line is ridiculous.

    Boston was an occupied city.

Kent State, an open, college campus.

The two are not comparable in any way.

Grumpy did touch a nerve, didn't he?

Yes, the US military for crowd control.

I guess some people believe that is what they are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Gee, so many Americans and Iraqis killed over crowd control.

Comparable or not, neither is relevant to this conversation.

I'm still waiting for your source that the caravan is mostly women and children.
