I am questioning the source presented.
My real issue is that a president who has called white supremacists some "Very fine people" is now being held up as a supporter of Black History Month. Sorry, but I'm not buying it. He's a hypocrite. You don't get to play both sides.
The source says what every other article does, from other news sources. You would know that if you read it.
There were people at the event you are referencing, that were white, but not white supremacists. Some of those people included people from the groups, Black Lives Matter, Antifa, and various others who opposed the removal of statues, some of which were Trump supporters. But by all means, not ALL who opposed the removal of the statues were white supremacists.
If you are holding signs with swastikas and chanting anti-semitic phrases - those were not the people Trump was talking about when saying there were good people. Likewise, if you are chanting threats to cops, Trump also, was not calling those good people. Trump condemned violence and bigotry, which would denounce people calling for white nationalism, while also denouncing people attacking businesses and others solely because of political and personal beliefs, i.e. removal of historic statues.
