Well. . . You asked!!! LOL!

I call this Political Satire ala Musical Comedy! LOL!

Meet Randy Rainbow! He's been around for a while, it seems. But his notoriety has grown since Trump took office. He's now doing tours of his schtick! Amy and I are going to see Randy Rainbow perform in Provincetown, MA, next month. He's also coming around our neck of the woods and will be performing at The Egg, in Albany, NY (which is a bigger venue)! We might see him there, too. Amy and I haven't been in Provincetown in YEARS! It's a fun place, to say the least! This video is just one of MANY. I wonder if Randy Rainbow will perform this song during his live show. It's based off one of Gilbert and Sullivan's well-known songs. It's biting, and it's freakin' funny! LOL!

This is such a beautiful song. It was written in the midst of the civil rights movement and still today reminds us of the injustices black people were forced to live through. As a country we have made mistakes but also worked to solve some of those (institutional discrimination and racism). It is important for us to remember our history as not to repeat it. I like this song because as it points out the wrongs it also provides hope for future equality.

I was hoping this thread would be a way, through the arts, to attempt to bring people together to see each others points of view and learn from each other. I am not sure this "comedy routine" that makes fun of the president will do that. If our country is to succeed I think we should all try to remain civil for a common good. I appreciate the way MLK protested because it was done civilly, peacefully, and respectfully. In my opinion this is not very respectful. I am afraid if 'we the people' cannot be respectful when discussing politics then nothing will ever be solved, and because of that we will leave quite a mess for our kids, grandkids etc. Just sayin..
