Unions lose in Harris v Quinn

The Supreme Court ruled that partial government employees cannot be forced to pay union dues. What is a partial government employee? In this case it is care givers for family members who submit and get payment from Medicaid.

This seems like a reasonable decision to me. After all, these people are getting reimbursed for care. That is no different from healthcare providers or organizations yet they are not considered employees.

I do disagree with the comments at the end of the article. This is not the end of Unions. Surely Unions are not on such unstable ground that the loss of money from Medicare reimbursements will do them in.
