This is a common mode of transportation in Bangkok.

This particular one is owned by my building and takes me up to the main street every morning.

It is called "Sparky" :balloons:

Sparky looks much like a three wheeled golf cart ! Just a tad more ornate. Cute ! Great means of transportation there... very wise and economical. We could use some of those over here now, the way the gas prices are soaring ! I'd drive that little baby to work in a heartbeat ! :D

How cool! They have those here in NY except a guy is riding a bike up front...and taking his life in his hands! :rotfl:

When I was a kid in Bangkok my parents let me take them to town alone all the time. Very cheap for about a couple of bhat I'd zip downtown in one of those. Back then we'd call them sam-lars (phonetic spelling, I think means 3-wheels). They were fun.

Keep the pictures coming!

Off topic. I told spouse after seeing these to take me to Thailand and he said no that there was too much religious fighting there and al quaida (sp?) is there. I said he was mistaken that Thailand was a Buddhist nation. But he said then the Buddishts are fighting each other there. I'm kind of out of the loop but I think he's mistaken, there's no kind of fighting there is there?

He's still going to take me one day. I always get my way. :)

There is actually a war going on right now, but only in the southern three provinces. The Muslim separatists want to split and become their own ????

Everyone is just staying away from there.

I was in Penang a few days ago which is probably about 45% Muslim and there were definitely not any problems there. The problems in the very south in Thailand have been going on for a long time, they are just a little more spirited now.

Bangkok is just fine................feel safer here than most other countries. :balloons:
