Good Morning!

Dianah is out of town, but Ted and Steph still need to check in.  Ahem....

Joe, hope you had a good day off and got outside.

BC, if you like summer, definitely move to Florida.  We will have summer at least six more weeks here minimum where it will reach 90.  But will have beach days through December.  Knowing how transplants bring their food culture with them, I'm sure that apple cider donuts can be found here.  I Googled and Trader Joes was advertising them around this time last year and I bet some specialty bakers would have them. I'm going to keep my eyes open.  Hope you had a good brunch.

J22, sorry you were feeling yucky again.  Netflix and Amazon Prime are my TV crack.  I don't binge watch unless it's some cooking or travel show, but watch one show at time, about ten shows.  I'm currently enjoying a show about drag queens and transexuals called "Pose", also "Mindhunter Season 2", "Dear White People Season 3", "Stranger Things Season 3", "Frankie and Grace Season 4", "Versailles Season 3"...just to name a few there might be about eight more shows in my rotation.  Takes me months and months to watch a season of something.  I rarely sit down to watch TV unless I'm on a "staycation" but always watch when I cook.  Oddly, I rarely watch movies anymore on Netflix and dropped the DVD service a couple of years ago and stream only.

Herring, sounds like a good bbq, hope you had a good time.

amoLucia, I used to love the Flintstones when I was kid.

Stars, dogs can be fascinating characters and have such personalities.  Slowbro is sitting beside me in his doggie bed in my computer room because he knows it's almost mealtime and doesn't want me to forget.

Yesterday, I got a bit done in the laundry, lawn mowing, cooking (made some real good black bean burgers) and bathroom cleaning areas, but went to the gym around dinnertime which was a mistake as I got so hungry and shake hungry that I had to leave and grab something to eat and didn't go back.  Lesson learned.

Today is "mop the floor Tuesday" and hot yoga day.  Will come up with some meals for the next couple of days at work.  Going to best friend's for dinner and to help with laundry.  He's doing well but can't carry and laundry basked on crutches just yet.  Some of his "beach walker friends" stopped by and his spirits were up yesterday.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Tweety

Quiet day yesterday.  Morning hike and afternoon bike ride.  Some cooking and cross stitch.  Watched a couple episodes of Dad's Army.

Back to work today, hopefully things won't be too crazy coming back from a 3 day weekend.  I'll plan for a slower morning just in case, so I have time to get things under control

Storms expected this morning and this evening.  Hopefully it won't affect my commute.

Going to be warmer, hopef this doesn't last long and it gets cooler soon

We had a good time. My husband's cousin's grandson was there with his wife. I'd never met them because they lived in Toledo before. They are both thirty. He is a software engineer. They never heard ANY Do Wop or fold music! Not at all. Never heard Motown music. He doesn't even know who Stevie wonder, Smokey Robinson, The Supreme s, or heard the Duke of Earl! Never heard of Peter, Paul and Mary, Pete Seeger, or the Kingston Trio! He sid, "The only old musician I like is Bruce Springsteen. I know who he is."

So intelligent and friendly, but they kept telling us old people, "We are only thirty." She wrote the names and said she will find them on YouTube.

As usual we left when they began playing cards.

Going to have to Google "fold music"...or wait did you mean "folk"?   Not sure who the the "Duke of Earl" is .

I felt old talking to a coworker who'd never heard of Karen Carpenter, only the greatest female vocalist of all times...sigh.

It's funny that even kids know who Michael Jackson is, but that's about it.

I meant "folk music".

My oldest step-son's middle name is "Earl" after his mother's father. This is his favorite song. He likes to be called by his first and middle name. When his young cousin didn't know it we sang it.

Love it, herring.(Duke, Duke, Duke 🎶)  So did your husband's cousin's grandson grow up under a rock? or in a commune? Or is he just so into computer/tech stuff, he never came up for air? That is WEIRD! Bet he doesn't know any Broadway/Movie musicals, either!

Tweety, don't think I'll 'celebrate' Hot Yoga Day . It gets so humid here that you can break a sweat just sitting still, without taking up any particular pose. Blick-Argh-Eeee-Yuck! I carry a dry face-cloth with me everywhere, to repeatedly dry my face... 🤦‍♀️ ...it's like my "fashion-statement",  or a protest flag or something. Sweat leaps out of the pores along my hairline like someone turned on a hundred tiny faucets. My hair becomes saturated! I wish I could be cooooool and DRY UP!

Nannie's in a tizzy about The Storm. I have to keep reminding her that the papers were talking about the COAST, not here. We're supposed to have 2-to-4 inches of rain, being on the periphery of the hurricane. She came into the den with a sweatshirt on "in case we lose power" (mind you, it got up to 90 degrees today) and has been fretting about the possibility of the "130 mph" storm-winds causing trees to fall on our house. May happen one day, but more likely will be from from a winter ice-storm.

(smh)  S'tough losing pieces of your brain.
