Good morning!

NSIME, glad that Nannie wasn't hurt.  Hope you don't ever have to deal with her breaking a hip.  It's really hard on old folks...I see so many people with dementia get anesthesia and escalate with their confusion.  Just went through this with an 87 year old that didn't even have dementia.  Took him about three days to clear his head and he had no recollection of the events at all.

Hard to believe it's cold up where some of you guys live.  We're having weather in the 80's but it's been so humid it feels hotter.  It also seems our rainy season has arrived earlier than usual.

I'm having my new washer and dryer delivered today.  I paid extra to get a specific time frame rather than their free "between 8AM and 7pm" deal.  It was $15 to have it scheduled between 12-2pm.  This way I can go to yoga and not be a slave to sitting at home waiting.  Also paid the have them haul off the old ones.

Now my refrigerator is acting up and I scheduled an appointment to have it looked at on Friday.  It's making a loud rattle every now and then.  It wakes me up at night.  It's always something.  Plus one of my stove burners decided to quit working, but I'm ignoring that, but for a home cook it's a pain.

I've always said I have bad karma when it comes to appliances (and cars) but to have a stove, washer, and refrigerator not working at the same time is a record for me.

Slowbro just reminded me it's time to eat.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Stars glad to hear Nannie didn't cause herself any serious injury

Tweety hope the fridge repair proves easy

Feeling a bit tired this morning, had a bunch of strange dreams in the early morning.

Perhaps it's related to yesterday's fast, sometimes that can disrupt my sleep

Yesterday was pretty decent at work.  Have not yet heard back from Friday's interview, although it's probably a bit early to be expecting anything.  I'm pretty sure an offer's coming, but until it does I'm applying for more positions.  Hopefully not much longer....

Yesterday was fairly quiet overall.  Ususal laundry and exercise.  J is feeling better now that his allergies are under control

Weather is turning warmer again, and according to the forecasts should remain warm into the foreseeable future.  Will be nice to finally have spring arrive

Good Morning!

It's another cold, wet and rainy day in this part of the world. Some areas in higher elevations actually got some snow - in the middle of May!! Without a doubt, the grass is green and growing, and growing and growing!

Yesterday was a restful one. Didn't really do much at all. For me, the rain was a deterrent to go outside and do anything. I have been fairly faithful in continuing on with this "Walk It Off" program that Amy and I are doing. Been walking between 2 to 3 miles per day. Not yesterday. Couldn't bring myself to walk in cold, rainy weather. However, I've (we've) been faithful to our healthy eating habits which is also part of the "Walk It Off" program. I've been a good boy and haven't eaten any candy, or other foods on the "naughty list". L O L! If it doesn't rain today, I'll do my 2 to 3 mile walk.

Working tonight. Hope it's "Q". Then, I'm off the next two nights. Working the entire week-end, though. (Hope it's "Q" then, too!)

Nothing much going on.

Tweety - Hope the refrigerator doesn't need replacing like your washer & dryer did. We still have all of our original appliances in our home that we purchased 14+ years ago. All seem to be working as intended. (Knock on wood!!!) Paying that extra $$$ to have a scheduled installation of your appliances is a great idea, and worth the extra expense.

Joe - Hope you hear about that possible job offer soon. Might it be worth the effort to enquire about the status of the position?? (And, let them know that you're interested??) Anyway, I hope you get the job that you enjoy.

Hope all is well with everyone. Cheers! 🙂

Ted

Morning-

Still cold and rainy here.  It was 39 when I got up.  Good times.

Had my review last night and it went really well.  His only criticism was that I need to use spell check when writing my notes. I really can spell, but I can't type that well and hit the wrong keys frequently.  I can live with that, 😂.  I did get the raise I asked for, and I'm happy about that.

Tweety-I'm jealous of your warm humid weather.  I hope the appliances arrive in their specified window.  I hate waiting around for stuff like that.

Joe-I hope you hear something today about the job.  These things often take longer than you're told.

Ted-Enjoy your restful day.  I'm not optimistic you'll be able to get out and walk today.  Meh.  We need some real spring.

Hope all have a good day!

Joe, glad that J's allergies are better.  Hopefully you will hear something soon and get a job offer.

Ted, that's awesome that you're being faithful to walking and eating better.  You're not getting any younger (yeah I'm older than you), and consistency is the key.  Hope you have a good shift.

BC, glad the review went well and you got the raise you asked for.  I too have issues with typing what I mean and I have spellcheck.

J22, it's understandable you couldn't sustain 140.  I don't think many people can including myself.  I was on one of those elliptical machines yesterday and at the end decided to check my heart rate on it's built in monitor and it was 111.   Which I think is in a decent zone, but I felt like it would have been higher.  When I take my blood pressure my heart rate usually is about 65.  (BP still has been high, 130's over mid to upper 80's...bleh)

Got the floors mopped, as it's "mop the floor Tuesday".  I've got a boat load of laundry to do and hope my new washer and dryer arrive on time.

Oh, no, Tweety! The appliances are breaking down, one by one.

That will be costly. But you can operate on three burners, very nicely.

Glad you got that raise, BC.

Sorry that Nannie fell, again. Perhaps you should regale her with stories of the elderly recovering from hip surgery.

I have witnessed what Tweety has, and I work rehab! By the time they get to me, they are several days post-op, and some are still confused, and out of their heads.

Went out for pizza with my nurse friend, last night.

The swelling around Talli's scratch, is HEART shaped!

I put Wonder Dust on it. Hoping it will finally scab over and HEAL.

Biggie got his mane pulled over the weekend, and he no longer looks like a wild horse. His mane is always unruly.

Poll worker training tonight, as I am working the polls again, this primary season.

Same polling station as last November, so I hope my co-workers are the same. Everyone was nice.

Change of plans for Nantucket trip.

I will now fly into Boston, instead of Albany, and take the bus to the ferry. Will meet my NY friends at the ferry.

Was looking forward to the car ride with them, but time wise, I couldn't make flight to Albany work.

I got airfare from Louisville to Boston for $77!!!!!!!!

Safe travels.

Good morning!

Lots to do. I'm making sure the Aspercreme and capsasin cream are both packed so I don't have to walk a mile to Walgreen's in New Orleans. Most important are the prescription meds and eye drops that can't be purchased if forgotten.

Looking forward to going soon.

Tweety, We had a fridge once that needed checking on. Sears said the warranty was out. Nope. I had the original paperwork and I still had a day and a half left, so they had to come out and completely replace the compressor!  HA!!!!

Hey Joe, Glad to hears J's allergies are improving. Some folks really suffer from seasonal allergies. Like I'm saying something you don't already know. (smh ...at me.)

Ted, I picture you chin-high in grass...🤣 Like Nel and I keep tellin' ya ... rent some goats for a day or two and you won't have to mow NUTHIN"!

BCg, Hang on, Spring will get there!

Nel, any stories/anecdotes I tell Nannie about former patient's falls go toward her ear and seem to ricochet off her hair-sprayed coif. That's my theory anyway. Plus, she's got so much fat around her hips and butt/gut, it probably cushions and compresses the bones from any sharp motions. She did break her arm once, and also wrecked a knee, but that was back in the day.

I got my forearm crutches the other day, but only took them out of the box this morning, when lo and behold, my right hip said "TWANG!" when I walked. Figured to get them set at the correct height, then decided I'd better practice with them. I always used the cane on my most affected side, but know that yer s'posta use a crutch on the opposite side to support the 'bad' side. Anyway, I concentrated on not looking like a moron while I walked down the driveway and back.

For some reason, hubby is IRRITATED by the crutches, and thought I should send them back. Why would I want to do that? Since I have a DEGENERATIVE condition, I will probably get more use out of them later on, anyway! Medicare paid for 'em. Maybe he feels less conspicuous when he is wife walks bent over like a knuckle-dragging ape? Who knows. Pffftttt!

Got room in your luggage for me, Nel? I feel a strong need to get away. I've been here near 'bout an entire year, by the end of this month. Still no new shed, so there's still much (all?) of my stuff unavailable in boxes which are who knows where in the stack in the original shed.

I need to find something fun to do, or quiet, or ... I suppose I can go down behind the shed and read. Or sketch. Or write. I'm tired of this rut.

Stars, can you visit the library?

Is there adult day care for Nannie; respite care, so you and hubby can go out?

I would really like to have a camera with sound, were we to suggest a daycare situation to Nannie!!! For just one day! She'd be in extreme denial about the falling. I don't trust her alone with the dogs, so she couldn't stay Home Alone. Then we'd go into the thing about how she'd be living in a box under the highway bridge, rather than in an old nursing home. Ya'll just wouldn't believe her.  {*rolling eyes*}

I do go to a library branch the next little town over. It's a sweet little town and a small branch, but nice; but, yeah,  I can also go visiting some other branches to see what their  environs are like.

I'd thought to seek out the tai chi class, but now that my hip pain seems to be re-asserting itself, I don't know what I can/should do. Y'know, to get better, not worse. Maybe I should get a PT referral from the Spine doc.

Mentally I feel like I am floating in The Dead Sea ...no effort to stay afloat, no wind in my non-existent sails. It's not crazy feeling, it's just....inert. And boring.

HA-HA! I cleared out of the den early, and earlier than hubby does, lately. Last one there has to make sure Nannie gets thru with her ablutions and finally settles into bed... which takes a while. Then turn out lights, lock up. etc.

Chalk up one for NSIME!
