Good work, Davey. It's afternoon here and the band leader [Annie] and I have been out sightseeing. Good fun and lovely scenery. [The countryside, not Annie] Soon go and pick up the ferals.

Now, if I start a band with the kids it will be--

DRUM ROLL--

Michael and the Melee.

Good morning (well, 37 minutes into Tuesday morning).

Hi Davey and Michael! Love the name of the band.

Went to bed early with a good book and drifted off holding the book. Groggily put the book down, turned out the light, couldn't fall asleep. Got up and watched Castle and the local news. Back to bed for 45 minutes. No luck. Back up now, chamomile tea and the internet.

Twice in one week - insomnia. That's unusual for me.

Well, I'll go give it another try. See you back here for coffee in a few hours.

 I hope

Good Morning Davey, Michael, Stephanie and all who pop in,

Davey thanks for starting us off with a giggle, loved the cartoon and I am so relieved you told the nurse they could always wake you to assist in care etc. LOL You are simply too much. hahahahahahaha Oh and gooooooood morning to you. LOL

Michael sounds like you are having a great time with Annie and the ferals, hope Mr Paget is behaving while you are enjoying some time out from home.

Stephanie I do hope you catch some good sleep, I went to bed then got up again myself then went back to bed after 11:30PM and finally nodded off.

Very busy day for me yesterday with 8 visits, I heard I had an admission for today with 3 visits and team meeting then a staff meeting. No way could I get all that done so I picked up another one yesterday. Then I get a message to say the doc is not back until Wednesday so I busted my patootie for nothing. hahahahaha

Still I will have 4 visits and an admission on Wednesday which will be busy but doable, then off for 4 days. Yippee.

Weather sucked yesterday with freezing rain, sleet and snow, had to keep the wipers on all the time due to the windscreen freezing. A little freezing rain, glazing outside again on the steps and railings. Shall check it out when it is light and then decide what to do.

Hope you are all doing well and have a most excellent day no matter what you get up to.

Much love to you all.

Morning Davey Michael Steph Sabby

Kind of a long day yesterday, the hospital meeting took longer than I expected. I was interesting but proved a more tiring day than I had anticipated. I was expecting a relaxing day out of the office. Still managed to get home and do some cooking.

Was very tired last night, went to bed an hour early. Got up a bit early this morning, feeling better although not 100% yet.

Want to get in early today, might drive in instead of taking the train. I'll see how the traffic is.

Snow is pretty much melted away, going to be quite warm today

Good Morning!

Dave - Cool cartoon, as always. :) I fall asleep, often, if it's slow at work and while I'm charting. It usually lasts about a minute or two. I know this because I'll have to erase about a minute or two's worth of "jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj" or "dddddddddddddddddd". LOL! My co-workers usually just shake their head and giggle when I wake up! LOL!

Michael - Great name for a band! :D Are you taking any pics of the sights that you're seeing?

Steph - Sleep. It's over rated. You might want to try typing in front of a computer. Seems to work for me (not just at work, by the way, but also at home!).

Sabby_NC - The weather was cold (and windy) here, too, yesterday. Didn't even attempt to go outside. It's suppose to warm up during the later part of the week. Your work sounds busy! You seem to manage those busy days quite well, :)

Joe - Hospital meetings can be quite tiring! I've slept (briefly) during hospital meetings before. LOL! Long ago, I used to be a co-chair to the Quality Committee that met once a month around 7:30 AM, which was after work for me. (It's why I joined that particular committee at that time.) There were a few occasions when I felt someone gently kick the leg of my chair to wake me up during the meeting. Usually, it was the other co-chair. I was quite embarrassed to fall asleep like that. (It wasn't often.) It was not voluntary. I co-chaired that committee for about two years. However, I hope to NEVER do that again. (Sleep during a meeting and be a co-chair.) Regarding the snow, we still have a good 2 inches of snow on the ground. Hopefully it will all melt away before my vacation ends so that I can begin to clean up and prepare the yard for spring and summer.

It was a relaxing day, yesterday. Did NOT do any cleaning. Did do some work on music, though. Today? I have no plans except clean (or at least think about cleaning) and definitely more composing (even if it's just a few measures worth of writing).

Cheers! :)

Ted

Good day all.

I am doing a 3 night sleep study, in part because I have difficulty staying awake during the day, at times. Ted, you personify all the questions I got asked about when I fall asleep during the day. CPAP! You are using it, right?

I ended up pulling the face part off overnight twice. It looks like an oxygen cannula but points to your mouth and has a mic attached. The microphone must really pick up fun noises when I pull it off and then try to get it back on while only half awake. Only two more nights to go. I don't think I really have a bad issue but my memory could use any increase in brain flow.

I have tried to read about all your happenings over the past few days. I really am pretty busy and have not felt too social. Much of it is because I am tired of waiting for spring. Our storm yesterday dumped another 4 inches and was just the end of my patience with winter. I had a doctor's appointment at 9 am and got a call from the doctor at 8 asking if I needed to reschedule. I do go to a great doctor. All of my labs were great. I have even missed the family curse of DM II for another year. I do try to eat somewhat correctly, although I have not weaned myself off all meat. I need more exercise and really am looking forward to some time walking in better weather. Perhaps if I take more care I can keep the DM at bay awhile longer.

Well, time for my day to begin. Have a good day. Sabby, have a great day and be careful out there. Night shifters, have a good sleep. All the rest of you:cat:

aknottedyarn - My CPAP sits quietly on my bedside night stand. It does help when I use it. I've been having a sinus/throat issue which seems like forever. I'm hesitant to use the CPAP when my nose is partially stuffed. But yes, the CPAP works great when it's used. I wish you well as you continue on with your sleep study. They say that getting a good night's sleep goes a long way in preserving memory.

With regards to Spring, I'm quite anxious for it, too. My mood has been sour, lately. My ambition is just as sour. I keep waiting for the right time to do things. Sadly, that "right time" never seems to come along. It's usually during these times when I need to force myself to put one foot in front of the other. (Or in the case of using the CPAP, just put the damned thing on my face. LOL!) Peace to you, aknottedyarn! (((Hugs)))

I'm awake! 2nd cup of coffee almost finished.

Back in the olden days when we charted using a pen and paper (oh how I long for those days) I worked with a nurse who fell asleep while charting. Her pen would make unintelligible marks in the chart as she nodded off. There is a person who closes his eyes during meetings and falls asleep too. We all had/have a chuckle at both.

Spidey's up and I've got to get myself ready for work as well.

Have a great day!

Good morning!

Love the cartoon Davey! I'm there so nurses don't get interrupted on their break. Nurses held a vote a few years ago to have a one hour break rather than two 1/2 hour meal breaks. I take report and take over the assignment. The nurse can go to the cafeteria, leave the hospital for the ATM, restaurant, or shopping. He or she can also take a nap. I'm assigned to the patients so no one would think to wake up the nurse from a break. I take a good 10 minutes to be fully alert when waking up so no napping on breaks. Some set their own alarm and come back on time alert and refreshed.

Then I give report and go take report from another nurse. Sometimes there is a lot to do. Sometimes not. A patient needing IABP, CRRT, and drips needs constant assessment and intervention. That persons nurse needs a break.

Michael: Say hello to the Melee, Annie, and the Ferals.

Good morning Joe, Ted, AKY, and Steph!

One of my sisters uses nasal CPAP at night. She travels with it. Airport security is familiar with the machines.
