Good Morning!

It's a rainy, wet morning in this part of the world. . . .

Last week was "Vacation Week" (well, actually, "Stay-cation Week"). Today was SUPPOSED to be my first day back at work. Believe it or now, I was scheduled to work the Day Shift! (Oh, the horror!!) BUT. . . and this is a big BUTT. . . I am On Call! Yep! I'm On Call. Still, I could be Called In to come to work. Anything can happen. However, at least I don't have to be concerned about going to work so early in the morning!! L O L! 😄 (Due to staffing issues, I was asked to work the 7AM to 7PM shift today. It's a rare thing that I do. I haven't worked the Day Shift in a few years. Although not obligated, I said, "Yes". Gotta be a Team Player, every now and then. L O L! )

Our "Stay-cation Week". It was nice. It actually started on Friday, May 31st. However, that Friday and Saturday (May 31st, and June 1st) was TOTALLY DEVOTED to prepping for, and audio/video recording those two 2-hour long dance recitals. Friday was the "prep day", as I set up the sound equipment (those speakers were heavy!). That took the entire afternoon into the early evening. Saturday was audio/video recording! I was there for a full 12 hours, which included setting up the video-recording equipment, doing the actual recording, waiting-waiting-waiting for the two 2-hour dance recitals to take place, and finally taking down EVERYTHING (audio and video equipment, all!). (Ugh!) It was a 2-camera set-up (Camera-A and Camera-B). I must say that recorded audio, and video, sounds and looks GREAT! I'm still in the editing process. This process is sloooooooow! I probably won't be finished with everything until sometime in July. But I've been working on this video, during most nights last week, while on our stay-cation. What else did we do??? Yard work. LOTS of mowing, of course. One rainy day, we went with my Sister-in-Law and Niece to see the movie, "Rocketman". Thoroughly enjoyed the movie. (We hold the strong opinion that this movie can easily translate itself into a Broadway musical! We sure hope that it will!!) This past Friday (June 7th), Amy, my Sister-in-Law, and I went for a nice hike to "The Bridge of Flowers". This is an old trolly bridge that was converted to a walk-way where many, many, many flowering plants are blooming throughout the spring, summer and early fall months. It's beautiful, and well-maintained. That was our big outing for last week, though.  Believe it or not, I feel ready to go back to work. Again. L O L! But, since it was offered, I quickly grabbed the opportunity to be On Call.

For the past 5+ weeks, I've been involved with a "Wellness at Work" program called, "Walk It Off". It's a program that involves eating healthy foods and exercising. This is a good program, one that I've done a few times before in past years. Well, yesterday, I was got weighed and measured. Happily, I lost 12+ pounds!! Again!! The woman who organizes this program is a really good  "healthy living" coach. (I call her the "Nutrition Nazi". She laughs! L O L!) Gratefully, she said that she'll continue on coaching me with the healthy eating and exercising after the "Walk It Off" program is finished in a month's time. I look at this as a life-style change, not just a diet plan. I feel better, already, which is good.

Nothing much else going on. I'll be back later to read your posts. In the meanwhile, I wish to send you a warm "Hello"! Hope you all have a pleasant day! 🙂

Ted

Hi Ted, good to see you!  Looks like you're enjoying being off.

Herring, I'm a Taurus and stubbornness is a trait I apparently had with a vengeance as child according to my parents.  I've relaxed as I've aged though and have become more flexible.  But I still have my stubborn ways.

I got all I wanted accomplished yesterday and enjoyed the day.  Today is a routine day of mopping floors, cooking and hot yoga.  Back to work tomorrow for the "bad week" which is two on off one two on.   Haven't slept well the last three nights in a row.  Not sure what's up with that.   I tried CBD oil for about a month with no effect and I'm stopping that.  I understand it helps people with a lot of things.  My niece loves it and said it helps with her anxiety and sleep.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Ted it sounds like you've made progress with your health

Tweety hope you can get some sleep tonight

Fairly good day at work yesterday, got some people to answer the phone.  Am getting the hang of the system they use and doing good wtih the care plans.  And I haven't been too busy.  Hopefully that all continues

Got the laundry done when I got home

Today should be fairly ordinary, plan to spend some time on the Michigan license.  Also need to find time to practice stitiching, harder to do now that I'm working out of the office

Weather has bee nice, in the upper 70s without rain, though rain and cooler temperatures expected tomorrow

Finally!

A sunny and bright day, with NO rain forecast for the Blue Grass!

It has been a week or more, since we had a rain free day.

My day will be spent in doctor offices; yearly physical at 0830, and EMG at 1230.

In between, I will get something to eat, as I fasted for anticipated blood work.

I am starving!!!!

It is gorgeous here. The overnight temp was in the 50s, and my windows are open.

Life is all about poop.

The lack of it.

The quality of it.

The quantity and frequency of it.

Well, Knots now has PERFECT poop!

I looked in his stall yesterday, and there were lots of perfectly shaped poop balls in his stall.

Hooray!

Results of blood test confirming or denying Potomac Horse Fever should come today.

But he is back to normal.

Last night, we were playing the guessing game, on his vet bill.

My guess is $600-$650.

His owner guesses around $700.

Someone else estimated $850.

We will see who is close!

Read the results of the Tony's, and would love see the Ferryman. But it closes early next month.

Maybe it will be extended???

Jack celebrated his 90th birthday on Sunday. My friend said he participated and ate some.

We are rescheduling Nantucket trip to the end of August.

Have a great day.

Morning-

We now have the rain here.  It's supposed to clear up by early afternoon.  My red car is no longer yellow from all the pollen, for now anyway.  Not much else going on.  It's just a regular work day.

Ted-Glad you enjoyed your staycation.  Sounds like you got a lot done.  I've been to the Bridge of Flowers.  It's really pretty.  Congrats on the weight loss!

Tweety-Enjoy your day off.  I've been using CBD cream on my hip with some benefit.  It also contains arnica, and I don't know if it's the combination of the two that help.  I could also just be imagining it.

Joe-Does your state have reciprocity with Michigan?  Usually it's just filling out a form and sending money.  I think this licensing thing is all about the $$$.  I'm licensed in 2 states and I'm very glad my practice pays for it.

Nel-I'm happy to hear Knots is better.  I hope the vet bill isn't too bad.  I hope you get to go to Nantucket in August.

Back to work.  Hope all have a good day!

Good morning Ted, Tweety, and Joe. Our trinity started us off today!

Nel: "Perfect Poop"!

Hi BCgradnurse. It has been long enough without rain that husband watered the front lawn. He took two treatments. Now he says it is easier to take a treatment when he is wheezing than to listen to me telling him what the doctor said.

No appointments today.

Good Afternoon -

It's 2:12 PM (EST) in this part of the world, and I'm still On Call. I did not get Called In. Yet. There's still a little less than 5 hours left of the shift. Anything can happen during that time.  In the meanwhile, I've been editing this dance recital video. The edited audio and video seems to sound and look great. But the dancing?!? Well, that's another story. (I can't edit poor dancing.)

herring_RN - Good to see you. Hope all is well. Hopefully having no appointments today is a good thing.

BCgradnurse - Our cars have been "yellowed" from all of the pollen, too. So is our house. It's a yearly "yellow-ation"! L O L! We've been getting rain, too, which helps de-yellow everything. Hope work is kind to you today.

Lil Nel - Nice to read that you're getting pleasant weather. Hope all goes well for you at your MD appointment. Good to read that "Knots" is pooping well, and that the poop is normal. Good news, for sure. And yes! Life is all about poop!

Joe - Seems like your settling into your new job nicely. Hopefully all will continue to go well for your!

Tweety - Seems like you have a busy day planned for yourself today. Not sleeping well for three nights ain't fun. Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight, as you face that "bad week" of work. I hear mixed results with regards to using CBD oil to help with anxiety and sleep. Lots of shops are springing up selling the CBD oil, though. Just across the border into MA, there're "smoke shops" springing up as well.

NSIME - I thought I saw you somewhere?!? I thought I saw a post by you. (I'm confused!)  Hope all is well.

Well. . . Back to video-editing. Just 4 hours and 39 minutes until the end of this shift. The phone can still ring. . .

Yay, Ted!!!

The phone is silent. I hope it remains silent.

You are very much, a team player. I hope you are appreciated.

The rain returns tomorrow.

Ugghhh!!!!!!!

But today, is still beautiful.

Had the EMG, and I have mild carpal tunnel bilaterally.

I go back to the hand surgeon on Thursday. Hopefully, he will refer me to PT.

The needle part of the EMG, was more tolerable than the shocks. The shocks were wholly annoying.

Following my blood work, I went to my friend's house for coffee and quiche.

I spilled coffee all over my white shirt.

She loaned me a shirt.

Just got home, ate a snack, gave Wally his ace inhibitor, will change clothes, walk, and take care of my beloved equine boys.

Oh, Stars, I completely agree, sick people don't bother me (adults), but sick animals, oh, no!!!!

People always ask me why I didn't become a veterinarian. I always say: Have you seen me when Biggie is sick? I fall to pieces and can't think.

I can emotionally detach from humans.

I can even emotionally detach from myself.

But I can't emotionally detach from furry critters.

Oops! Ted, I posted todays post on yesterdays Daily Diary entries.

It's beautiful today, sunny, with a cool breeze.

Well, now I can't say my husband doesn't listen to me, though this time it was about birds and bird-feeders. Prior to his and Nannie's blow-out yesterday, we had been talking about the bird-feeders, and I said he probably should check them, because with all the rain we've had, probably the seed had begun to sprout. Birds won't eat sprouted seeds; it is the plants way of protecting itself to make the sprouts, I dunno, bitter? poison? so the plants get a chance to root and grow. At any rate, the sprouting in the bird-feeders was pretty prolific. He took them all down, dumped the soggy, sprouted contents, washed and dried them and the birdbath, and refilled everything with fresh, dry food. Now EVERYTHING with wings, and the chipmunks are out there chowing down.

Might as well go outside and enjoy the day...until Ozzie starts telling me, HEY! It's time for our supper! He has a clock in his belly, y'know.

Hope FranEM is doing ok and can send us some good news...

its getting to be a warm one, today, up to 77 at 3:30 pm. I've been trimming back shrubbery, packed it into the pickup and made a dump run, with dog hanging out the window. The we stopped by the the coffee stand for a latte and a dog cookie. House picked up, caught up on laundry. I've been looking at  campaign filing instructions for dd, who is running for the local school board. She is a little late on filing, but it doesn't look too onerous. She not planning on taking contributions, so it shouldn't be too bad. And I dropped on grandson's birthday card at the mailbox. The kids get a kick out of getting mail.

Ted, I saw your pictures on Facebook. That bridge is beautiful.

I just finished a book about Jacqueline Kennedy, written by her secret service agent. Dh got it in Dallas when he visited the Texas School Book Depository. It wasn't really my taste. I am going to start the Goldfinch. I bought it a year ago and never started it, but I see it is coming out in movie form.

Wow, NSIME, that is some building. It reminds me of the old city hall in the town where I work. Some people rave about beautiful it is, but I think it is butt-ugly. BrettBaunton-BH-WM-0225-Fs.jpg.542c3cf2587dbc02ff461c07444f9ad5.jpg

It did not ring a bell at noon, but the old pulp mill on the water front had a big steam whistle named "Big Ole" that would signal noon. The mill is long gone, but I think Big Ole is in a museum somewhere.

Fingers crossed that everyone's health is optimal, poop and all,

j22
