G'day!

BC, Randy Rainbow is a hoot, glad that you enjoyed him.  Hope you had a good beach day.

J22, that's frustrating trying to get that appointment.

NB, hope the heat and humidity doesn't get to you.  Fact of life for us in the South.

Stars, glad PT is going well.  Sounds like the husband has dug himself in for the long haul and that's understandable.  Got to take one day at a time.

Dianah, you do lead an exciting life with all the travels, meeting people and music.

Steph it is a bit un-nerving when those mass shootings happen close to home.

I had a decent day off and accomplished laundry, bathroom cleaning, back yard mowing and went to see best friend to help with his laundry and empty litter box.  We had a nice dinner and visit.  I stopped by the beach on the way home (which is across the street from where he lives) and watched the sun go down.  It was nice, but I got distracted with my phone.  Sometimes I hate that thing and should leave it behind but I like taking the obligatory pictures, but don't like getting texts and being distracted.  Anyway it was nice.

Had a hard time sleeping around 3AM but fell asleep and was up for good at 5AM.  Meh...will go to bed early tonight.  It's "clean the bathrooms Tuesday".  Hope to go to yoga and do some meal prep for the days to come.  Now that's an exciting life.

Morning Tweety, hope you get some more sleep tonight

Fairly normal day at work.   Came home and exercised and worked on cross stitch some more

Tonight meeting the church group for our monthly dinner out.  Italian place this time, haven't been there before though I did go to their predecessor which was also an Italian restaurant

Rained quite a bit yesterday while I was at work but stopped by the time I left.  Weather is cooler now, will be in the 70s and 80s which will be nice

Morning-

Had a lovely beach day yesterday.  We stayed til after 5 and then drove home through a few pop up thunderstorms.  Today is forecast to be very hot and humid, so we will probably stay home.  Fiance is hosting a poker game at the house tonight, so I will meet my sister for dinner and then come home and watch movies in my bedroom.  It's great to not have to go to work!  If only I could retire, 😂.

Tweety-Hope you sleep better tonight.

Joe -have a nice dinner with the group.

Off to walk before it gets too hot.  Have a great day!

Hello. It is getting hot already. I'm so glad it cools off at night. I'm not sure what I'll do today. No appointments or promises to keep.

Yo.

Waiting to hear from the Neuro/Spine doc's nurse about getting in earlier than 8/13 to assess my R shoulder bursitis. Though I have an 8/1, this Thursday, appt w/ the same doc for the hip-joint injection, he can't look at my shoulder at that time. The hip injection and the shoulder injection are both fluoroscopic procedures and he only does the fluoroscopic stuff on certain days of the week. The woman at the scheduling desk said the PA doesn't have anything available until the 30th of August. The appt w/ the doc I had made yesterday,  for the 13th, is ONLY for the assessment , and then another appt has to be made for the bursitis injection. So STUPID! Do I have to go to the ER? Will they just send me back to the Neuro/Spine office instead of giving me an injection? This is so frustrating. Meanwhile who gives a flying whatever about patients and pain?  Is their practice so small they can't take care of what needs doing, in a TIMELY manner?  Maybe I could try to go through my PCP as a referral? Wonder if THAT would clear the way for an earlier appt?

Blah-blah-blah.

Gotta go prepare the van for dog's to go to the groomer shortly; they need a blanket over the front seat because otherwise they have no traction and go slipping and sliding on any turns.

See yez later. Hope everyone's doing okay---

Good morning from the West Coast.

I'm off call 😍  but did some follow-up this morning and reported to the HHA.

Just paid a few bills. Headed to the shower and might get out of town to the "big city" and do some shopping.

Local ER doc was working on Sunday when his family came in from a car accident where his 9 year old daughter died and wife was badly hurt as were the two other kids.  I'll link the story.

I'm simply ready to walk away for awhile from responsibilities.

Y'all have a good Tuesday and hug your family.

Hi,

I went for my pacer check, arriving 15 minutes early as per all of the reminder emails and texts messages sent. Of course, the NP who insisted she had to be the one doing the check arrived 15 minutes late. And the check took all of 5 minutes. She could tell I was annoyed. And it seemed weird that she didn't ask about my incision at all. The lead looks "better" but I need to come back in 3 weeks. And I have another appointment next week as my "post hospitalization visit." Bah.

Weather is overcast and coolish today, in the high 60s. I  work in the TB program and we feel stymied. My boss and the health department director want area providers to treat latent TB instead of us (due to cost). But they are pushing back, saying "but the health department has always done it." But in talking to other counties in our state, very few of them treat LTBI. And it doesn't help that neither the pulmonology nor ID practices will treat. So we end up taking the path of least resistance and just doing it.

I talked to eldest ds last night. They just got back from a back-packing trip in Banff. While there, he proposed to his s/o and she accepted! I am so pleased for him. He has always been so awkward around girls, but the two of them are the perfect fit.

You all take care

That is horrific.  That poor family.  Something similar happened to an acquaintance of mine several years ago.  Her daughter hit a tree after skidding on black ice.  Mom was the radiologist who got the CT scan to read. For whatever reason she had never been notified that her daughter was in an accident.  Daughter's last name was different from hers, so the hospital staff didn't make the connection.  It was not good and the poor girl never regained consciousness.  I will mentally hug my kids tonight, as they are elsewhere.  Between this and the shooting, you must be drained, Steph.  I hope you get some time to recharge.

OK, the injection I'm getting Thursday is a spinal injection, not a hip injection. It may or may not work, like those I had at the beginning of the year. Maybe 1 day of relief, but I hope more than that. Then on Tues the 6th I see the PA for an assessment of (my correct diagnosis) R shoulder bursitis; THEN I have to get an appt for the shoulder to be shot up.

When I started to have the hip/back pain, and sciatica, I had to endure all that for 3 & 1/2 - 4  MONTHS, bouncing around from doc to doc, procedures that didn't work and waiting for the MRI results to be read, then waiting for the only open appointment  which, IMHO, was way to long for anybody to have to wait. But what choice do we have? Just doing the same thing as then, 'cept it's my shoulder....and if they make me wait 3 & 1/2 months for this one, You will be reading about a one-lady picket line in the newz! 😋

I am icing and I need more packs of varying sizes and shapes. (and N0 to the bag'o'peas!)

Uh-Oh.....The sun is down.

Fasten your seat-belts, it may be a bumpy ride!

nurseJ, hope the lead settles in and you don't need it repositioned.  Wonder why she didn't look at the incision?  That is part of the post-implant check.  Congrats to your son!

No Stars, so sorry that you continue to endure pain while what seems logical to us gets sorted out (seemingly 'taking their sweet time.').  Wish we could change things.  Hope Nannie settles down tonight, and that your discomfort doesn't keep you from SOME sleep/relaxation.

Today was busy in the cath lab in the morning.  The cases went smoothly but working in there was frustrating, for three department support systems sorely let us down.  It is difficult to provide quality care with a deficient infrastructure.  I submitted one report/request for repairs, sic'ed manager on another system for Plan B (as Plan A is NOT working and they seemed to have no clue as to how to formulate an alternate plan to meet our needs so we can meet our patients' needs), and did some mental legwork on the third issue.    In the afternoon I was able to complete two mandatories online.  Took me about two hours but it is a tremendous relief to have those DONE (they were due tomorrow).  I will be in stress lab tomorrow.

150 of the new CDs should arrive tomorrow (they were delayed, or would have been here today!), and the balance on Friday.  If you would like one, PM me with your address and I will be happy to send you one.  🙂

Have a good evening!
