Good Morning to you all,

Snow coming in today well later this afternoon so I plan to get out and get a visit taken care of then do an admission then 3 other patients to visit after this.

I also have another admission tomorrow which will take my patient load to 17 so I discussed this with my DPS as 4 new admits pretty much on top of each other takes a bit of sorting out etc.

My DPS is happy for me to keep the admissions but I baulked at that just a little as my colleagues have 8 and 9 patients respectively and I feel one of them could pick up the admission I am doing today.

The admission tomorrow is of a spouse that I care for so I am definitely keeping that patient seeing I am visiting already in that area.

Our office is getting inundated with admissions but one RN is out with the flu and the other is out today so I pray it is kind to me because that is all our office has. hahahahahaha

Please be safe in this weather and keep warm.

Had a great day yesterday with 6 visits, did an extra one as I knew I had the admit today.

Have a very happy and productive day.

Much love to you all.

Morning Sabby

I know what it feels like to be inundated. We have two people out sick and I've been getting a lot of calls. Would have liked to get more done yesterday. Hoping today will be better. Found out a manager will be leaving, not surprised as this person has been there since the beginning and was rumored to be job searching.

Email seems to be down for me, spent a bunch of time last night on the phone. Finally got a number for Yahoo and it was so busy I couldn't get through. Must be a major problem. Fortunately the vast majority of email I get is unimportant.

Very cold today, didn't want to get out of bed. Will be very glad once I'm working from home. I hope they set that up soon.

Good morning.

Sabby and Joe, there are so many ill right now. Please take care of yourselves. You can only pick up so much. Our friend Tweety was down with it for a day or so, so you know it is a really nasty flu to catch him.

Woke up to the news that the great ambassador of peace, Pete Seeger has died. This is a very personal loss for me.

Today I will take neighbor to her medical appointment. I probably will go pick up another friend and spend some time together. My truck needs to go get perked up.

Weather report for us is cold. 11* and wind chill of -7. My dog will stay in today. I guess the cold and bad weather is all over the east coast. The South east is getting the worst now. Prayers for those who are in the path of this. They don't have any way to deal with it.

Have a good day. Be safe.

Good Morning -

Just finished writing a rather long post on church congregations closing. (Apologies, Joe, for being long-winded. LOL!) I did this after rolling out of bed. Haven't had First Coffee yet.

I'm doing a quick "Hello" now, and hope to be back later for more on-line banter. In the meanwhile, Peace to all who travel here today. :)

Ted

Good morning all!

We had some clouds and a tiny bit of rain overnight but the streets and sidewalks are dry right now.

I think I must have turned off my alarm - I don't really remember it going off but I woke up an hour after I'm supposed to wake up. Took some of that "nighttime" cold medicine and it knocked me out.

Sabby - our census is way down. Lots of deaths in the last month. Hey, I have a question for you! Do you, as hospice, give flu shots to patients in their home? Totally unrelated to their diagnosis, right? But . . . some answers I'm getting back say yes.

So anyway . . I'm later than usual and will have to sign off here or I'll really be late getting to work!

Enjoy your day!

I attended this event when they came to Burbank, CA with sisters and nurses.

!

Yes Medicare expect us to give Flu Vaccine, Pneumovax etc, so all our patients are offered Flu Vaccine around Oct- Nov. It is covered by hospice as well per Medicare Guidelines. Hope this helps you. We prefer to do this ourselves rather than paying MD visits to cover flu shots.

Had a dreadful day weather wise, we got snow all day. (I think the weather person got caught with the proverbial britches down around the knees) I did a 360 spin out and I was crawling, did some fish tailing, by the time our office decided to close it was 2PM and I had passed so many accidents that frightened me. One vehicle had rolled and was upside down balancing on the side rail. I was SO glad to get home, finish off the admission and then phoned all my patients to ensure they had everything they needed for this inclement weather.

Not sure what will happen tomorrow due to this mess, it will be icy as we never got over 19F today and of course temps will dive tonight so it will be icy. Shall wait and hear from the office but I am supposed to be at another admission tomorrow with 3 other visits.

I am finally settled after my scare today, no damage to the car or myself but that was my first experience of no control. It is so frightening when you go so slow yet have no control.

They are now finally running salt on the road about freakin' time I did not see any of them until heading home. There is now an accident just down the road from us at a T intersection. *sighs* I prayed so hard all the way for everyone to get home safely.

Sipping a nice hot cup of tea and snuggling with my Banjo who is snuggled on Mummy's lap.

Take care out there it is brutal.

Sabby, so glad to hear you made it home safely. Sounds scary.

Good afternoon everyone. First chance I had to post. I am off work and ready for my pajamas, some tea and some cold neds. I normally have women's bible study tonight but decided to stay home since I am fighting off the bug that's going around. I also have to get up at 4am so I need to get to bed early.

I feel so spoiled. Out here in So Cal it has been beautiful weather. Nothing like the frigid temps I am hearing about on the east ciast. One of my coworkers flew out to New Jersey today. We warned her to pack for cold weather because it will be much different than our current weather. Today was this coworker's last day. :( I will miss her but we will keep in touch. She is going to an ER new grad ptogram so very happy for her. :) We are a very close knit group and get along well where I work. One of the many reasons I enjoy where I work.

Gotta go. Sorry for any typos..on my phone. will come back later.
