Good Morning! :)

It's another overcast day here in this part of the world. The temperature is a teeny bit below freezing. This makes road conditions potentially hazardous, especially if there's a light drizzle of snow-rain. Presently, there's a light drizzle of snow-rain. (Ugh!) I don't have to go to work this morning, but my loving wife does.

Nothing much going on. I'm procrastinating on projects that require attention and completion, and finishing projects and tasks that need to be finished right away. It's the usual. LOL!

I'm working tonight and tomorrow night. Off Thursday and Friday nights. Then, I'm working Saturday and Sunday nights which are extra shifts for me. I'll be playing the role of Mr. Shift Director on those nights so that the full-time Shift Director can enjoy a care-free vacation. The extra $$$$ that I'll be earning will come in handy this holiday season.

Hope everybody's day is kind! Peace! :)

Ted

Heyyyyyyyy awl!

I'm at work listening to Christmas music. I finally folded.

I think I'm getting a bit of a cold, trying like hell to fight it, because I have so much to do. As we all do, yes?

I think Boston finally caught up with me, because I sacked out in front of the tv last night and woke up to see a couple was going to LOVE IT, on Love it or List it.

Today is a paperworky day, then off to take Far's Mom to PT and grocery shopping. Then dinner with Some Hot Dude.

Hope you all have a good day. No Stars and Tweety, feel better!

Good Morning!

It's cloudy without much sunshine here the last couple of days. Yesterday the air conditioner was needed. Today not so much but might need the heat tonight. Crazy weather. Most of the week will be "cold" by Florida standards.

Stayed up past 1AM because I took too long of a nap yesterday afternoon. Bowling was fun. We are tied for third place with one more week left. We play the team we are tied with and if we beat them and the first place team beats the 2nd place team, there's a chance we could get 2nd place. Or we could lose miserably and fall from grace. LOL

Today I have some chores to do nothing exciting. Pain of the implants still warranted some ibuprofen but feeling better today and has been getting better every day.

Far, hope you don't get a cold.

Hello all!

Be careful in that inclement weather! (Amy and others)

Yesterday dh and I went to the parks.

Saw a couple friends in the bands, walked a lot, had a couple nice meals, a good day outdoors and looking at Christmas!

Here is the castle just at dusk:

We happened to be in the main square (waiting for the band to come out!) when the Tree Lighting was held:

And here is the castle at night:

And the Dickens band finally came out! We got to see our friend Jimmy play the percussion (he plays a mean triangle!!); he is next to dh:

OK, am off to work now.

Have a good day!

Okie dokey, I have been MRI'd; hope the results are at the Dr.'s when I see him tomorrow afternoon! Whatever shows up, I appreciate he wanted to sort out the various signs and symptoms before relegating me immediately to the OR.

My sister gave me some good ideas on where I might look to find a pair of the platform crutches, and also sent me info re Medicare and buying online DME's...they frequently won't reimburse you for that. *sigh*

I had to go out so early this morning; when I got back, everyone was still asleep...I decided to go to the library, which I did. Then I decided I needed to drive around and get lost on purpose; what an adventure! I found miles and miles and MILES of very rural roads that never crossed any highway. Covered three or four counties from start to finish. Toward the end of my trip I saw a road-name sign I was familiar with, and headed in. It was fun! Got back at 11:45 AM.

I don't know how long Nannie and hubby had been up, maybe 1/2 hour or so. Nannie has to get dressed today because she has a hair appt at 2 PM.

Be back later!

Hullo,

Super sunny and cold here. It is supposed to get down to 20 for the next few nights. Dh got buzzed this am when he walked past the hummingbird feeder. Apparently Mrs. Hummer doesn't appreciate icy nectar. I will need to remember to bring in the feeders tonight so they don't freeze, and put back out in the am. Meetings day, ugh. We had a "training" this morning that was supposed to be on safety awareness, that was not very helpful. The trainer had lots of acronyms and stories about "bad guys". I think he tried to shock an audience of mainly nurses with a photo of an injection drug user with skin abscesses, lol.

Nice pics, Dianah. The parks have wonderful holiday decorations, don't they?

NSIME, your journey sounds like one dh would take. That was probably good therapy for your psyche to get of the house and cruise.

Feel better, Far and Tweety.

I hope Amy has safe travels.

Ooh, a new library, Joe? That sounds interesting. They sure have changed though, haven't they?

Ugh, more phone calls to make,

mañana, amigos,

j22

J22, not sure what you mean that you're DH "got buzzed". I know what I think it means, but someone I'm not sure that's what he did. LOL

My implant is feeling better. No need for pain medication (ibuprofen) at all today. It did hurt a little when I was out jogging.

Did the mopping today.

Chatted today with my niece whose 12 year old daughter has come out as gay. Doesn't bother my niece or her husband one bit. My niece has attended gay pride with me before and had a Gay Best Friend in high school. Times sure have changed since I was a gay 12 year old deep into the closet of repression. My sister, her grandmother is equally supportive, mostly because of having a gay brother (me!). My parents, the child's great-grand parents don't know yet but because of me (again) they've had years to open their minds to the idea and I'm very sure they will be supportive.

I'm so proud of her for her maturity and self-confidence.

Ha, ha, Tweety, I did that before, posted before I thought about using idioms. Duh, that's Social Media 101. By "buzzed" I mean that the little bird fly by very closely, as in when a small aircraft flies very close to another object.

top gun maverick buzzing the tower - Bing video

This is especially funny to me because dh does not partake of any sort of substance that might alter his sensorium.

Also, that is very cool about your niece being able to come out in such a supportive family.

Fingers crossed you can get some definitive answers as to the source of your pain, and get started on helpful treatment, No Stars!

What a fun getting lost trip you had!

Tweety, good to hear about your niece's daughter maturing and coming out in a supportive environment.

Truly you have been a trailblazer, for all the pain it entailed.

nurseJ22, 20 degrees????????????? BRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

And yeah, it's got to be a lot to gross us nurses out!

Watched a movie with friends that featured one scene where an injured limb was suddenly shown up close. Really, the wound wasn't bad. But our friends gasped and turned away in horror.

I'm turning from one to the other, "what? what?? what happened??" like I missed something!

Well as I am a Federal employee, we got an email today with the news that tomorrow was named a Federal Holiday, in honor of the deceased President Bush.

However, in that same email it was clearly stated that tomorrow would be business as usual at our facility.

Guess it was too difficult to reschedule all our patients at only 24 hours' notice.

Still enjoying memories of a nice day yesterday (and over 11,000 steps!).

We saw some of the Christmas parade, and also got to see a band playing Christmas tunes on one of the Tom Sawyer rafts, in the middle of the Rivers of America -- after dark -- and after their set, came the (fake) snow! It is always pretty to see!

So, I am going to relax and get prepared for tomorrow (which looks to be VERY busy).

Have a good evening/sleep!
