Good morning!

Stars, I'm so sorry to read about Pippy.  My sincere condolences.

Not much going on around here.  Going to mop the floors and get ready for he work days to come.  Visiting best friend for lunch after yoga class to help him out.  He's on the bone stimulator to heal his foot fracture for 10 hours a day for the foreseeable future.

Have a good day.

Morning Tweety

Stars I know this is a difficult time for you, I'll pray for strength for you and your dh as travel this difficult road

Work was fine yesterday, not too busy

Managed to get out early and get to the doctor's appointment on time.  Thankfully he's decided I only need twice a year follow up.  Probably a result of my success in keeping my weight and BP down

Ran some errands and did laundry.  Wanted to exercise but it got too late

Some rain yesterday but not much.  Today there might be some more, and even more likely tomorrow.  Temps have been pretty good so far

Good Morning -

NSIME - (((HUGS))) to you!! I know that, as a whole, this is a tough time for you and your family. The loss of Pippy must be additionally heartbreaking. My condolences to you and your family. Please know that you're warmly held. (((HUGS))) 😞

Tweety - You're a good friend to be with your best buddy! I'm sure your presence helps the time pass as he spends time on the bone stimulator.

Joe - Good for you for keeping the weight and BP down. I've been involved in a healthy eating and exercise program for these past few months. Lost over 15 pounds. It feels good to lose the weight and be generally healthy. Hope work is kind to you today.

Spent a good portion of the night, last night, in my quiet studio, editing that dance video. Got a bunch of editing done. Still have a whole lot more to do! Went to bed around 4:00 AM and got a few good hours sleep. Woke up around 8:00 AM, gave a  "Good-Bye Kiss" to Amy as she trotted off to work, and JUST finished First Coffee. Gosh, I DO LOVE coffee! L O L!

Gonna do the usual "sleep, eat, work" thing today and tomorrow. Hope work is "Q" for the next couple of nights. Looking forward to Thursday when my happy 7-day stretch of nights off from work starts!

Otherwise. . . Nothing much else going on. Hope all have a pleasant day today! 🙂

Ted

Hi, keeping NSIME in my thoughts today.

I am supposed to be watching an educational module on Continuous Quality Improvement, but, but yawn, there is not enough coffee to sustain me for the entire 60 minutes. Weather is warming up again, it was only in the 70s over the weekend. The evening air is already getting an autumn crispness to it. I am working a little early and a little late each day this week because tomorrow I am going to a Rolling Stones concert! I didn't go to rock concerts when I was younger, so I am fulfilling teen age dreams. As my eldest ds says, I don't get older, I get younger. College in my 30s, snowboarding in my 40s, tattoos in my 50s, Stones concert in my 60s.

Dh is working late all week, which takes away incentive to cook. I have been making scrambled eggs with O'Brian potatoes and broccoli and spinach mixed in and topped with Parmesan cheese.  Otherwise my go-to supper alone is popcorn, 😂.

Tweety, you are such a good friend. I would go nuts to be attached to something for 10 hours a day. Ted and Joe, I've been walking a lot, and putting more thought into my food. After this week, my activity restrictions should be done. I have lost 6 pounds since my pacer insertion!

Good Tuesday to all!

National Proseco Day and National Filet Mignon Day!

Nice combo, yes!? Going to try to make up for my past omission. Tomorrow is National Creamsicle Day and Nat'l Lemon Meringue Day.

I haven't been in best of health for some time and I didn't recall the Web sites, so the holidays just fell to the wayside.

Any birdwatchers here? A bird landed on my skylights and I never saw one like it before.  Medium size, coffee au lait color with a hooded head. I normally wouldn't care except I NEVER saw any bird like it. It was the ODDEST color - just total tan/beige. I don't birdwatch - my sisters and my neighbor enjoyed feeding the birds. Me, nah.

to Dianah - I found a way to start new topics. Just fell upon it. Yippee!

Does anyone have the site address here for when we used to write for that silly soap opera novella? I want to continue it.

Hooded or masked?

If it had a crest and a black mask it could be a cedar waxwing

Thanks for all the prayers and good, warm wishes. I feel kind of half sick to my stomach and that's not helped by 98 degrees avec oppressive humidity.

There's a lot going on with Nannie, her PCP has stopped another med and put her on something else to help her sleep. Of course, she's always so resistant to anything that's supposed to help. She fights it and fights it. (By the way, NB, she is already on Benadryl AM and PM.) So this week will be the telling one.

PCP talked to hubby about getting a elder-care lawyer and having Nannie declared incompetent. Hubby says if the new med doesn't help and/or makes her worse, he will start making calls; he has already talked to a lot of folks, gleaning from their experiences.

The doctor (PCP) could not believe that the three times she went to ER, after hubby told them of her recent actions, they did not put her "up on the floor" for a mental evaluation. He told us another hospital we should have the ambulance take her to, instead, the next time, where they have a Senior Behavioral Unit. I told her PCP that I was feeling very nostalgic for the days when 'snowing' someone with Thorazine was standard practice. So,maybe we've come a long way since the, but when will they come up with a med that is really, truly a Nannie-Tamper?

Currently she is out trying to walk around the yard with her walker. Sounds like hubby is not too pleased about it. He's gotten her to turn around and come back. We'll see what happens when she gets the new med in her system. She'll probably enjoy being high and try to pack and run away like she did last night.

She was shrieking and throwing things at hubby at 1 AM, shoes, whatever she could find. She tried to kick him in the balls again. Once again the ambulance took her away; they called hubby at 5:30 AM to come and get her. THEY thought she was "the sweetest little old lady". YUH, right.

Hubby said, "Did we not wake you up when we got home at 6:15 AM?" Nope, I heard nothing, but apparently she was screaming, yelling, cussing, etc. with the throwing things. All of this is finally bringing hubby to the edge, so I believe he will start the process. Let us pray.

nurseJ - Nope! The bird I saw was ALL light cocoa colored, incl its tail feathers. Like the tan color on that pix you posted. And its head peak was more upwardly pointy but TY. Maybe some kind of escaped pet bird. Not a parakeet.

(((NSIME))) - Continuing the good thoughts for you & hubs. Even for Nanny - on her own odd way, she is experiencing her own brand of psychic distress. She is now 'a threat to herself & others'.

I hear a sound and go over to check the baby monitor where hubby sits (he was outside) and there's Nannie rising off the mattress and weaving and reeling her way toward the bathroom. Words slurring. Definitely high as a kite. Has been way less hostile tonight, but very, very chatty. Got her to the bathroom and back to bed.

Prior to hubby stepping outside, he'd said, "Boy, that new medicine has knocked her dick in the dirt." That was because when he helped her from the recliner to the bathroom to her bed, she could barely manage to get through the bedtime routine. Drooping.

Now, she is up a third time. Wants an aspirin. Earlier tonight she sprayed febreze air freshener on her hair, thinking it was hairspray. I guess because she wants to look good when she gets up the next time? Or is she going to pack to go home to her mother? I hope not; last night her packing (tossing her clothes, shoes, etc onto the middle of the bed.) episode ended up with 6 EMT's in the den. Hubby said he's not going through that again tonight.

So much for new meds. Good encouragement for hubby to start making those phone calls, though. Earlier today he said he never meant for me to retire and move, only to end up living in a full-time job.

P.S. Ozzie seems nonplussed by Pippy's absence. I think he notices she's not here, but he keeps to his routine of rotating places to hang out and nap during the day.

Happy to report that as I am finishing this post, Mrs "I-Can't-Sleep" is SNORING vigorously.
