Good morning!

J22, glad that you got some business at the vaccination clinic.  Not feeling good about the vaccination hesitation but not surprised.  It is a bit baffling sine we've had the highest number of cases and deaths in the world.   Shrugs shoulders.

Stars, hope sleep continues to be better for you.  Snakes??  Yikes.  Now I'm craving pizza at 6:30 AM

Ted, it is annoying when our home computers have issues and the amount of time we spend trying to resolve it.  Our new owners are supposed to introduce us to "Epic" later this year.  Will be happy to get rid of our current system of charting.  I still can't get onto their website and do CBT and have to go in.  I think it's because to he iMac web browser I have, but I'm not inclined to change it and go through all of that.  I do have my work email on my phone though.

Dianah, glad to hear that your cat is eating.

Still had a bit of trouble sleeping last night and might have gotten about five hours sleep and feel a bit washed up.  Need to stay awake to get some things done and to try to sleep early tonight for work tomorrow.

I'm the only nurse on the schedule for tomorrow.  Seriously.   There's so few of us right now that when one needs a day off, this happens.  I'm sure some juggling will be done to find us another nurse.   I'll try not to think about it.  Work has been causing me some issues with my mood lately.  I'm too irritable and stressed and need to take a look at that.

Started watching "Promising Young Woman" on Amazon, one of this year's Academy Award nominees for Best Picture, and it won Best Script, and the actress was nominated.  It's pretty good.  Will finish that today while doing some cooking prep.  Also have some housework and a yoga class scheduled.

Have a great day!

Tweety that's crazy that you're the only one on the schedule for tomorrow.  I can definitely see how it could affect your mood.

NJ22 glad you don't have to deal with the creepy contractor any more

Stars it's good that your family is fairly drama free

Ted computer issues are frustrating

Dianah glad the cat continue to do well

Work was fairly good yesterday, a little frustrating but not too bad

After work went to the pharmacy and to a follow up with the doctor.

Was quite warm yesterday, almost up to 80.  Got up earlier than usual and didn't quite fall back to sleep, might have been a bit too warm

Today will be in the 80s, probably the warmest it's been all year

Church has its online dining out this evening.  Deciding if I should try and do grocery shopping tonight or wait until tomorrow and risk the rain

J saw his BIL yesterday, has a nice long talk, said he looks pretty good, though the hospice nurse says he's continuing to decline and doesn't think it will be long

Hi folks. Imma about to set out for a ride, but need to charge up my watch before hand. I did get to Costco and dropped off some Advil for my MIL. She was grateful and anxious to let us know about a celebration of life for her sister who passed in March. It will be a picnic at a local park.

I had yet another frustrating interaction with the GI office. I got explanation of benefits from my insurance for the tele-call and then it dawned on me that this will be a diagnostic scope, not a screening scope and will not be covered under preventive care. So I emailed the billing department to verify and ask about potential out of pocket expenses. I dislike talking on the phone as I get flustered and with email I have a written note. Well, the billing lady called me "because it just seemed easier." For her, maybe. So she hemmed and hawed about it, but she gave me a ball park figure. And confirmed that anesthesia, and pathology if needed, would be extra. I asked why I wasn't told on the recall letter about screening vs. diagnostic and she said it would be too time consuming for them to customize each letter. So she is now the 6th person I talked to at the office and the first to confirm that there will be a cost. When all this is done, I plan to write a letter to the practice manager about how disjointed their processes are and not at all patient focused. All the calls and letters seem to be geared toward the practice convenience. Vent done.

I watched Minari last night. I enjoyed it but thought it was sad. The acting was great and I loved the cinematography and music.

Pizza is okay, but I can't eat more than one piece. I think Thai is my favorite, and I enjoy Vietnamese but it loses something as take-out. Same with Chinese. I easily fall into the habit of ordering out. More and more I just loathe meal planning. Not the cooking, not the clean-up, but shopping and planning.

My family has never had much money. My dad had a nice retirement account that he split three ways between me and my sisters. And my son bought his house, so that was easy. We plan to do the same three way split, perhaps carving some out for the grandkids.

It looks to be a nice day, my last day off before back to work. Will wash the sheets, and work on finishing the wall around the fireplace.

Hi-

I was discharged this morning.  Surgery went well.  I'm very sore, but I have meds to take.  I'll be on a full liquid diet for about 2 weeks, til the swelling in my esophagus goes down. Then I can progress to a soft diet and then back to unrestricted as tolerated.  I'm a little loopy from the meds, but otherwise doing well.  The new season of Handmaids Tale drops at midnight, and I plan on binge watching it while I'm home.  I'm also going to try and watch some of the Oscar nominated movies.

Tweety-I can't believe you're the only nurse on.  How the heck is that supposed to work?  I think you'll like the Epic software.  I've used it before and liked it.

Joe-Enjoy your nice weather and the online dining.

J22-That sucks about the cost of your endoscopy.  I really hate health insurance.  I hope it's not too expensive.

Hi to everyone else.  Hope you're having a good day.

BCgradnurse - Glad that surgery went well. Hopefully the medications will help quell the discomfort. Please know that I am (we are) warmly holding you for Healing and Comfort!  (((Hugs)))

nurseJ22 - Sad to read about your unfortunately experience with the GI office and billing. I hope that it all gets settled in your favor. (I hope that the diagnostic scoping also works in your favor, especially with the diagnosing. And, whatever is found, if anything, is quickly well-managed.) (((Hugs)))

Joe - Sad to read about J's BIL. I hope J's BIL is comfortable.

Tweety - Gosh! They better find another nurse to work for you!! Wow! (Not good!!) Your stress and frustration is understandable.

Well. . . I'm STILL reading the NRP manual. I'm not a fast reader. Also, I'm easily distracted. I'm also a text-book procrastinator. Still, I plan to be prepared to take the on-line test this Thursday, and to take the NRP class (including the hands-on NRP test) this coming Friday morning. Can't wait for Saturday!!

The weather has been nice today. A little cool, but sunny and nice. Slowly, the lush-green leaves on the trees are presenting themselves. The Spring Season is springing!

I'll be going to work at 2300 to work as Mr. Shift Director. I'll take Earned Time for the first 4 hours of my normal 12-hour shift (7PM - 7AM).

To everyone. . . Peace! 🙂

Ted

BCg, good to hear your surgery went well. I like the plan of binging on Handmaids Tale.

Yeah, our goofy system of paying for health care is so infuriating. I wouldn't buy a set of tires with knowing the cost ahead of time, but medical stuff has too be so flippin' complicated. And I swear COVID has lowered everybody's IQ by 30 points and erased all empathy.

Needing all your good thoughts for tomorrow. Had my first abd CT scan post radiation on Monday. So tomorrow my radiation oncologist will have a teleconference about the results and my continued therapy. I'm feeling OK, but that's no indicator.

Had the allergy prep for the scan. Oh, do I love the prednisone!!! Had 50mg x 3 doses and a Benadryl. But what a letdown as the pred wore off!  The Benadryl made me tired. I guess it was all the anxiety.

Next week I meet my new onc gyn. Then catching up with all the other specialties that I've had on hold for so long..

amoLucia - Warm thoughts your way as you continue on with your treatments. Certainly hope that the CT Scan results are in your favor; hope that whatever is found will steer your treatments accordingly, always in a positive direction for you. (((Hugs)))

Here's a good look at that issue: "It ain't you, Babe!"

Irritability and stress in your case, are completely sane, understandable, and normal responses to an insane, ridiculous and abnormal work situation.

You are N-O-R-M-A-L !!!!!
