Good Morning!

Herring, sounds like your step-mother would certainly appreciate the party.

NSIME, I'm sorry to hear the hips are bothering you.

Nel, enjoy your day off from the madness.

J22, sounds like a nice full and active weekend.

According to Facebook Ted has left for his trip to Europe.  Enjoy Ted if you're reading.  Can't wait to see pictures.  I'm sure it will be awesome.

I didn't realize it because I took the last two weeks off traveling, but last night was the last night of bowling for the season.  My team didn't think to text me to bring a covered dish and I showed up empty handed.  But there was plenty of food and even though I had dinner, I snacked on some junk and desserts.  We ended up winning all games and jumped from 14th place to 10th place where we won $70 each for a prize.  At least we finished in the top half.  Have to find a new player for next season which doesn't start until the last Monday in August.

As usual, I regret taking that afternoon nap because I could not sleep well.  Stayed up real late and got maybe four hours sleep.  Had to break down and take a sleeping pill, took half at midnight and half at 2AM and now it's 6:40 AM and I'm tired and groggy.  But since I'm working tonight, will try to stay up.

It's "mop the floor Tuesday!"  Oh the excitement.

Morning Tweety, hope you don't feel too tired today

Fairly ordinary day at work yesterday.  And after work too...ran some errands and exercised

Going to do a phone interview on Thursday.  Don't have high hopes but I'll see what the position is.  Have decided to temporarily pause my job search, I'll pick it up again in the next month or so

Getting my hair cut after work today, will probably go for a walk too afterwards.

Was nearly 80 yesterday, will probably only hit 60 today.

Good morning!

Hope the groggy feeling passes, Tweety. Maybe the floor mopping will perk you up! 😉

I will enjoy my break from the madness.

Spring shots for Biggie and Talli today. Talli gets his feet done tomorrow, and my side mirror is replaced on Thursday.

Trying to squeeze in lunch with a friend this week too.

Today is out, as shots are happening at lunch time.

I slept 14 hours.

The three shifts in a row are a killer.

I am sure Ted is enjoying his trip, although, it looks like things are heating up again in northern Ireland.

As always, best wishes with the job search, Joe.

Hope the pain stays away, Stars.

Oh, congratulations on the winnings , Tweety!

Hi. Just finished emailing step-Mom's birth certificate to the mortuary. Yesterday the counselor was surprised we didn't know all her parent's information. That was right after we had him change from us being "daughters" to "step daughters". He asked, "Why don't you know where your grandfather was born?"

I told him we do know that OUR grandfathers were born in Ontario, Canada and Texas. But we never met her parents.

No trouble here! I am as pure (coff-coff) as the driven snow. I behave simply because I DON'T want to hear about it! It isn't that I don't misbehave, it is simply that, when I DO misbehave, I don't get caught. ... 👼

I remember at a family reunion , how shocked my mother was when my younger brother said, "Yeah, I was through being a wino by the time I turned 15." She laughed and sputtered some words which essentially added up to "WHAT?", and my brother said, "That was X number of years ago, no sense in worrying about it NOW!" She said, "And I thought my kids were so well-behaved!" We were! We didn't get caught, and didn't get injured, so no one was the wiser. What GOOD Kids!!!!

Tweety, If I texted you to show up with a covered dish, wouldja? And have some food in it, too? Just let me know when! If it's Vegan, that's ok by me, and if hubby doesn't like it, he can stir in some of his ol' Bacon Bits. That man puts bacon bits in almost everything! I asked him to leave a portion of supper MIT-OUS (German-ish for without) cheese and/or bacon bits, for me. Not sure how he took it, but I said I was trying to lose wgt. because of my hips're kicking up again and losing weight sure wouldn't hurt. I just don't see the need to dress up almost every entree and side dish with those two ingredients.

As we say here in the South, "Bless his heart."

Joe, It's going to be 80+ degrees here and SUNNY (!) for the next three days. I don't remember this spring having any kind of distinct seasonal spring weather. In the early 80's, in mid April, my mom was on her way from Florida back home to Maine in her camper-van; she stopped to visit, to "see the Smokies in the spring."  We woke up the next morning and there was 8 inches of snow on the ground. Mom said, "I could have driven straight up to Maine to see this..."

Nel,  By "things are heating up again in Ireland", do you mean Weather or a news-worthy Populacious Unrest? ( how's that for a real made-up word?!!!) I don't much stay up to date with all the news, and am guilty of reading just the photo captions and the first paragraph or two in the paper. Not everything I read sticks in my head, anyway.

Oh, speaking of my brain, I've had a couple of somewhat disturbing, but-still-kinda-funny Senior Moments lately. Today, for instance, as hubby and I were driving home from our shopping and errands-run, we stopped at our favorite Family Restaurant and got take-out for lunch. Usually, the deal is, when we get home, hubby unloads the car, and I am in charge of the lunches, ie, put hers on a tray with flatware and bring it down to Nannie in the den. / We're still in the car, on the way home with the take-out, when I say, "What should I give Nannie to drink? The cran-apple or her diet-Mnt-Dew?" Hubby says, "Well, this is just an idea, mind you, but you MIGHT give her the tall iced-tea you're holding in your hand."

EI-YI-YI, and D'Oh!

Hey, BCg, You may be heading home now or soon...hope your commute goes easily and you're not too wrung out from working.

I imagine there were a few bon-mots I was thinking of dropping in here, but I'll be durned if I can remember what they were! Sometimes I have them written down in my little ringed, lined 'brain' (sm notebook-companion), but these were a few that have ... maybe temporarily ... escaped.

Yah, so, I may not be back later this evening: Atlanta Braves baseball game starts at 6:30 PM, so that's what I'll be doing tonight, watching the TV; about which Nannie says frequently, "I just LOVE y'alls big-screen TV! I can see the picture so good and the COLOR!!!  Just look at how PRETTY that ballfield is!"

She💗's our 📺 !  We are 💥 "In Like Flint!"

I met politically, Stars.

A journalist was killed, albeit accidentally, by the new IRA, a few days ago in Derry.

Oh, herring, I think you would enjoy the Radium Girls.

I am on chapter 4, and one girl has died a painful death.

It is hard to believe that people DRANK radium.

It was considered a wonder!

Yikes.

Nel, I suspected as much, about Ireland, though I missed the specific story.

And the book is called The Radium Girls? Who is the author? It does sound interesting...I'll ask at the branch library when I go there on Thursday.
