Good Morning!

I've heard some of you talk about having limited reactions (or likes) and that doesn't seem to be the case with me.  I seem to be able to like (or dislike) to my heart's content.  Weird.

Was a bit anxious last night and about midnight took 1/2 of my benzo. and it seemed to help but I was tired and it was after midnight.  Speaking of sleeping habits I like to sleep in just a sheet, usually only waist high, and since my shoulder surgery a couple of years ago have taking to to hugging an extra pillow, and sleep mostly on my stomach and arm.  Sometimes in the winter I'll need the comforter.  Can't stand wearing any kind of shirt but I can't sleep naked either,  just some boxers.  Now you know.

Something dug up my dog's grave and I'm not sure how long it was (partially) exposed, but I found it and the sight and smell were horrific.  Had a hard time getting that sight and smell out of my head and nose, and was one of the reasons I couldn't fall asleep.  I wonder if it was a coyote as I also saw animal droppings.  I laid out some rat poison in case it was them.

Got most of what I wanted done yesterday.  Got the haircut, cleaned the bathrooms, did some laundry and mowed the front yard.  Didn't get to the gym but mowing and carrying the many bags of leaves and grass to the trash was exercise enough.  Today is "mop the floor Tuesday".  Today I will say yes if asked to come in 11-7.  Last week I said no.  I seriously overspent the budget last month, mostly on groceries but on the new phone and accessories as well, so I won't turn down extra money at this point.  If I don't work, and I hope I don't, I'll do some cooking.

Gotta love Amazon.  I needed to return the phone case I got because I got the wrong size.  I printed out the label and dropped it off at one of their locker locations 60 seconds from my house in a 7-11 store and the next day got my credit and a new case I ordered.  Don't know how they do it but it's saves so much time going to the post office and waiting days and days like in the olden days.  Also got a bag of dog food delivered.

Bowling team got clobbered by an excellent team that is now because of their victory last night one game from first place.  We on the other hand fell from 11th place to 14th place.  The agony of defeat.  Actually they were nice people and it was good that we could help them out possibly get to first.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning

Calm day at work yesterday, unusual for a Monday.

Was a fairly quiet day overall, exercise and some errands

Hoping today will be much the same

I'm currently putting the job search on hold for at least a week or two.  Want to take a short break and see how things play out at work before I start looking again

Might look at taking a personal day off at some point, just to have some extra time.  Though I'm reluctant, given that I might need time off for interviews

Weather is warming again, could be 70 by next week

Good morning, Joe.

Dinner last night with the women's Friendship group was good.

One member is from Russia.

One recently moved from San Francisco because she works from home, for UC-SF, and her husband got a job at UK.

She explained how outrageous housing costs are in Bay area.

About 12 women attended, and the conversation, food and wine was good.

Talli was an absolute doll about his shot. We did his in the field.

Biggie had to go into his stall. But he didn't try to run away.

Partly cloudy here today and near 60 degrees.

It was still cold yesterday.

Nurse friend told me about restructuring meeting at work last week.

We will no longer be floated to other units.

Hmm.

And the units will be strictly patient specific. So, no stroke patients on my unit, for example.

Hmm.

Apparently, my facility has gone down in popularity among patients.

Surely, staffing shortages have nothing to do with the lower numbers, right?

Note to CEO: It's all about the staffing.

Have a great day, all.

Threads merged. 🙂

Last night I re-organized the set list for the one set we are doing at the bluegrass festival.  I still need to make a cheat sheet for the words, as a couple of the songs in the set are newer to us.  One we just worked up at the last practice.  All it takes is "hey, what about this one?" and we're off!

Dh helped me change strings on my guitar, that was very much needed!  And we practiced a little.

Today I am Case Manager.

Have a good day!

Oh, and we should each have 75 "likes" per day to distribute.  🙂

That can't be, Dianah.

I don't believe I use 75 likes a day, and yet, I have reached the limit multiple times.

Maybe the likes have been increased?

Good morning.

Today I have an appointment with the kind, brilliant good looking NP at the headache clinic. If I were younger I would be in a clinical trial and would have to see the rushed physician who asks questions while typing. I get eye contact, calm attention, and suggestions on caring for myself.

This morning step-Mom has her first session with a psychiatric social worker. We spoke on the phone yesterday. I can't be there to meet her because of my appointment. Probably the head caregiver will call me later.

Husbands friend and fellow lodge member brought his weed wacker and cut down the pig weed forest in the back yard. It looks great! And won't be a fire hazard with fox tails to get in dogs ears. Plus he is a dad putting two sons through college and had many rainy days off his construction job in recent months. Husband paid him more than he charged because he doesn't charge enough. He is strong, smart and a fast worker. I'm sure he gets more done at work than most workers.

I slept well last night.

Nel, we tried the "no floating" thing and that lasted a couple of years, and then it was "you must float if there is a critical need" and then it was "you must float".  We also have patient specific floors, but when the do do hits the fan they put patients anywhere....within reason.

Yeah, I have my doubts that this plan will work.

Right now, they put patients wherever there is an empty bed, because it is all about the money.

And I guess they feel this is leading to patient unhappiness.

I am sticking with my assessment that patients dislike 'drive by nursing' model.

My nurse friend is orientating a nurse who came to rehab, via a long career in the OR.

The nurse is struggling, according to my friend. She can't grasp the notion of rush, rush, rush.

My friend has encouraged this nurse to rethink working at our facility.

If you don't rush, rush, rush, at our facility, you will drown, drown, drown.

Ah, good morning. . . 🙂  I'm off call!

But, that darn insomnia monster visited me and I didn't fall asleep until sometime around 3 a.m.  Woke at 07 to give report to next nurse on call.  Went back to sleep until . . . 8:55 a.m. 🤭 I feel lazy when I do that.  I'm not a late sleeper.  But must have needed it.

Rain will continue this entire week - right now it is cloudy and cool.

Tweety - so sorry about your dog's grave.  That's awful.  We've been lucky so far as our pets have been buried under a huge black walnut tree at the ranch but we always place large rocks on top of the grave.  (We have access to lots of rocks in this volcanic area of CA).

herring . . . "kind, brilliant, and good looking NP" who looks at you!  Wow! 😁

Time for getting my day started.  You all have a good day!
