aknottedyarn: I'm so sorry for Jim's loss.

I have no words to say that could possibly comfort you in this time of deep sorrow. Please take comfort in the reality that he will never suffer again and the very real possibility that you will see him again someday.

Many of us have suffered the loss of loved ones in the past year or so.......knowing how I felt makes me feel like I know some of what you are feeling. Maybe you find the peace he now knows.

Jim was a special person. Special to me, of course. He was a criminal defense attorney. He also was the author of a legal reference book, updated yearly. He raised 3 wonderful children. I have grown to appreciate even the one who had such problems with me over the past weeks. He provided free legal help to many. He gave a hand up to so many. There were so many lives he changed by his presence.

I miss him and know that will continue for a long time. We were fortunate to find each other and share 3 years together.

I know I could not have gotten through all of this, especially the second time, were it not for all of you. Your support and caring shines like a beacon for me. I come here for strength and courage. You provide something that no other "resource" can.

The nurses, doctors, and all the staff was wonderful to me all the way through. I would leave the hospital and seek this thread and connect with friends on facebook at all hours of the night. This gave me the ability to go back and be there for him again.

His death is attributed to ventilator related staph pneumonia, a complication of his seizures, med needs to control them and his new stroke.

Again, I am humbled by your abilities to support someone so well who you have never met and many times see things from a different POV. Proof that humanity is stronger than any political view point. God Bless each and every one of you.

Many hugs, dear.

So very, very sad to hear this.

Sounds like all that could be done for him was done.

I grieve with you.

AKY you have been so "there" for all of us too. It is impossible for us not to love and care about you! So sad, thinking how recently you went flea marketing and etc together. You are such a teacher of how to get through grief, the main one being leaning on others and talking about it. We're here!!

xoxo

AKY,

Sometimes it's just not up to us to decide, but only to do the best with what each day brings. Take comfort in knowing that the weight of all this sickness has been lifted from him. It's gone now - try to let it be lifted off of you too
