Good Morning!

Ted, hope your back is feeling better every day and that work went well.  Those online ACLS and BLS are soooooooo annoying.

Stars, I believe "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" was also a documentary.  Interesting enough upon release of the doc she became somewhat of a gay icon.  We love her outrageousness, tragedy and trauma and that she was a survivor.  She kept a gay man close to her as an assistant.  I met him once in a gay bar in North Carolina.  I thought it odd a gay man would work for them but he loved her.

OK, now I had to Google to see if I was correct about her:    https://www.theguardian.com/film/2000/aug/04/culture.features2

Joe, hope you had a nice dinner out with J.

NB, so glad to see you.  Thanks for stopping by.

J22, surviving those conferences can be torture.

Dianah, computer issues are a major disruptor of an already busy flow.

I had a good day off alone yesterday and accomplished a lot.  Off to work today and tomorrow and off the weekend.  Binged watched the rest of Downton Abby and hated to see it end but glad the movie is still out and I hope to see it next week.

Have a great day.

Morning Tweety

Yesterday went well at work.  Had dinner with J afterwards.  Had a blackberry martini instead of my usual wine.  Trying to mix things up a little

Have a 4 hour meeting at work today.  Not going to get much done with that in the way.  And right after the meeting I have something for another hour.  Not sure when I'm going to get time for lunch.

Grocery shopping after work.  Hope to exercise and work on cross stitch if I have time

Was glad yesterday morning that the weight loss continues, but slowly, after 3 weeks of not weighing myself and not being adherent with my diet.

Woke up an hour before my alarm again, had some issues getting back to sleep, hopefully this is temporary

NIce weather continues around here, but rainy by Friday and a freeze warning for Friday night

Morning-

I had a nice day off yesterday for Yom Kippur.  I went to synagogue in the AM and then took a nice nap.  It was cool and rainy, so a nap was the perfect activity!  Fiance's DD came over for dinner.  It was nice to spend some time with her.

I meant to go to the gym this morning, but it's still cold and rainy.  That killed any desire I had to go out before work.  Meh.  I have some weights at home and I'll climb the 5 flights of stairs at work a few times during lunch.  That's better than nothing.  I'm also going to start intermittent fasting.  For me, that means skipping breakfast, which I don't like anyway, and only eating from noon until 8. I'll keep on my low carb regimen as well. We'll see if I can stick to that.

Hope all are well.  Have a good day.

Good Early Afternoon -

Just woke up from First Sleep. Getting ready to eat First Meal (some kind of lunch), then back to bed for Second Sleep.

Worked as Mr. Shift Director for most of the night. Thankfully, the ICU and the rest of the hospital was "Q". I'm going to work early tonight to interview a candidate for an open night shift in the ICU. There's also another applicant for this position. It's nice to have "choices".

Gosh. . . got to get going. Hope all have a good day today. Cheers! 🙂

Ted

It's late morning here.

Good to have Tweety, Ted, Joe, BCgradnurse here already. I'll look for No Stars, Dianah, Nurseblaq, Nursej22, amoLucia, and whoever else visits today.

Just plan to walk for errands. I often walk between 2 and 3 miles. The AIDS was will be a little more than 6 miles, but it is fun.

Good afternoon, It's another sunny cool day. I have today off, and I slept in! I awoke at my usual 6 am time, had a small glass of milk and a slice of toast and went back to sleep until 9. That felt so good! Cleaning house today, and went on a bike ride and my ears got so cold! The sheets are in the washer, and now I'm taking a little break to look at the computer. Youngest grandson has hockey this afternoon, so I may go watch.

Tweety, that is interesting about Tammy Faye. I remember the scandal about her husband. I didn't realize she was a friend of the gay community.

Ted, do be careful about your back! Don't go getting crazy and push too much.

I am jealous about you weight loss people. I sort of plateaued, and have been just eating what ever is handy. I need to get back to planning better.

Dianah, I hope your computer problems are fixed soon. Those darn EMRs are a blessing and a curse, at times.

TGI almost Friday 🙂

Good Afternoon! (I started this in the afternoon, but put my laptop down hours ago, and only just now picked it up again.)

There are sunny, blue skies, nice breezes, a high of 78 and NO HUMIDITY! Nice!!! However, still noooooo rain! None predicted during next 3 days. We're looking at~ 2+ weeks with only one light, spastic 2 minute-long sprinkle a few days ago. Not even enough to pretend it was dew, never mind rain.

Nannie woke up before I did; hubby gave her meds, yogurt and what she calls 'juice' but is actually Mtn Dew. Then she went back to sleep in the recliner. When I came downstairs she was still sleeping. I had my coffee outside, did the puzzles in the newspaper, then came in to get my laptop. When I sat on my end of the sofa, I noticed Nannie was humming, but still looked asleep. Then she was talking in her sleep, but the words were not clear.

I woke her up around 1:45 PM and told her to go pee, because I was going to get her lunch ready. When she was eating (Broccoli-cheese soup from Panera) she asked when did she get back from church?  Apparently she was dreaming she was at church, singing and talking. I try to encourage her to sing, if only to herself when she walks the yard (no one can hear her if she's in the back of the back yard), but being a perfectionist, she doesn't want anyone...even herself... to hear how her voice has changed from the days when she was a soprano soloist in her choir. It makes no impression on her that singing will strengthen her throat muscles, and maybe re-train her to speak with more volume from her diaphragm instead of murmuring in the back of her throat. It would also help keep her from episodes  of coughing/choking. She won't eat sitting up, but remains tilted back in the recliner (not flat, though!) She chews with her mouth open and talks at the same time.

I say she can prevent choking very easily, BUT, (oh well!)  it is useless information, in one ear and down into the rabbit-hole it goes. I know she will never try to do anything that will help herself improve, because then she wouldn't be a pitiful, crippled little girl.  You'd think I'd have learned by now to just drop it and let it be. Trying to be helpful/useful is often a thankless task, as we all have experienced in our careers!

AND SHE STILL THINKS I AM TWO SEPARATE PEOPLE!!!!!!! Asks me what "she" is doing up in the kitchen. Hubby was up there, I told her; "yes, but the other girl..." I told her there IS no other girl, that  *I*  am that girl. Her reply was, "You two do look enough alike that you could be twins, but her hair is longer."  (Must be my Gemini Moon she senses)

So, last night I dreamed I had some dried frosting on my face (dunno why, though) and I was scratching at it, trying to peel it off. Well, I woke up with a perfectly round little drop of dried blood on my nose! Didn't notice it right away, and it was a shock when I looked in the mirror as I walked past it.

We are watching Gymnastics, so I'm going to sign off....

Later, y'all!

Tonight, Nannie's snoring is a combo of a cow lowing, and a foghorn.

Reminds me of a Golden Book I once had, titled "The Little Boy With a Big Horn" ... I think there were noise-complaints and so the kid could only practice his tuba in a rowboat, way out in the ocean. Anyway, in the "tune" he practiced , the notes went progressively deeper and deeper....and the only words I remember from that book are the song which went: "Many a brave heart is asleep in the deep, so be-ware, be-ware, be-ware."
