Good morning!

Happy birthday Joe.

Dianah, this site seems to be particularly problematic giving me a notice sometimes "this website is using considerable amount of energy that may affect the performance of your mac."  Not always but sometimes.  It's definitely slowing down in general and freezing up more.

Soon I'll go going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark.  Bleh

Got a lot done yesterday and ready for the next couple of days at work.  We've been slow lately, but I'm also hearing competitors have been slow as well.  Bean counters I'm sure are nervous.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks Tweety

I'm glad I have today off of work. Things got more difficult yesterday

They changed productivity standards again...from the number of calls made, which everyone was meeting, to the number of questionnaires completed, which most are not.  Going to have to change how I work again.  I think I can meet the new standard, but this is yet another difficulty and irritation

And J had to delay dinner last night, first by an half hour, then another half hour.  Then he was a half hour late anyway, due to a last minute call Things were fine once he was there, we went to one of our favorite restaurants.

Have nothing to do today, and I'm not going to think about work or anything else.  Will try to get outside once the rain stops.   Otherwise will just take it easy

Good day nurses (to borrow a phrase from herring)!

Happy Birthday Joe!

Day 1 of my 6 days off. My family has asked me to run some errands for them, and I just want to watch congressional hearings, wah, wah. 😫 It's sunny and crispy here, there is a bit of frost on the ground, and a bright sun in the low sky. I hear ya about not seeing daytime. One of the advantages of working 3-11, was I was able to enjoy winter day time, except in these parts, it is often overcast and gloomy. But not today! There was a chance that the northern lights were visible last night and I went out to look but didn't see them.

Dianah, on a past trip to Phoenix, dh and I were wandering around Old Scottsdale, and stepped into the Rusty Spur (a cantina/bar) for a cold beverage. There was a singer performing who said he was a past member of the Sons of the Pioneers, and he sang most of their old hits, including Tumbling Tumbleweeds, and Cool Water. It was an unexpected treat!

Cheers

Regarding the raccoons, our neighbors watched them copulate from their second story balcony across the street. The next day they walked their dog and told the whole neighborhood for blocks. They are from Italy and had never before seen raccoons. Now I have seeds in the ground so if it doesn't rain again I'll water there.

Saw snow high in the local mountains, when I came out from work. 🙂  It's always a treat to see.

One more day to work, and then next week is a short week!  AND youngest ds and his wife arrive on Thanksgiving Day, 12 noon!  Will be so good to see them!  We will have a late lunch together and they have some visiting planned over the next few days.  We will treat them (and oldest ds) to Sunday at Disneyland.  They have not been since the new Star Wars area has opened, so even though it will likely be crowded, I'm sure they will enjoy seeing the new area (and the parks all decorated for Christmas)!

Hope you have a good evening!

Hullo Pe-oples~

Tweety, Yeah, gosh, even I think that ten years is a good, long run on a ....whatever technology you use. When I went to buy another flip phone, my model was no longer available 😫 and the worst thing was I had no choice but purchase a new flip phone, and THEN had to learn a whole new way of doing the ordinary things one does on a not-smart phone. Eventually I 'got it', but this last phone bill I used 00.0 GB (is that it?). Hubby had close to 35. I'm not much of a phone-chatter-on-er; he keeps in touch w/ everyone he's ever known (well, maybe only it's half that number.)and he does facebook and Youtube and all that. And takes pictures. [but not of me, 'cause I don't like my photo taken if I can help it.]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE!!!! 😺 {your cat texted me and asked me to tell you this... 🎼🎶🎵}

j22, I loved the 3-11 shift....sleep late if you want to, or go to the beach, hiking, whatever, then stay up until 2 AM, and sleep late (I already said that, didn't I?) ---and I hope you get to do what YOU wanna do on your days off. // Did you know that the actor who played Festus on GUNSMOKE was actually a member of the Sons Of the Pioneers. Had a good voice, and was not so bad looking, as he shaved, and did not shove his cowboy hat so it squashed his ears out, or screw his face all up with a squint. I saw him in an old  John Wayne movie, but can't  remember which one it was.

herring, You say you have planted those raccoon seeds? [ no raccoon emojis ~ drat! ]

dianah, Do you know of Red Knuckles and the Trail Blazers? It's the 'alter ego' of a bluegrass group whose name I don't know. But I saw 'em once and they were fun.

Did 4 loads of laundry yesterday. Today I had my nails done early in the day. Then hubby took Nannie to her hairdresser, and I went in my van because we had to drop off Nannies' car to get the heater repaired. All three of us got out hair trimmed. Mine is your classic page-boy with deep bangs, general length is lower than chin, but above the shoulders....It'd grown a good bit from when I cut it myself a while back, and it had started doing "The Cindy-Debbie Flips" which just don't suit me one single bit. If someone tells me it "looks cute" that way, I back slowly away from them. Being called cute makes me want to barf and break out in hives. Eeeeyuushi! Anyway, I'm satisfied having a good haircut, basically no muss, no fuss. And as it grows out, them dern flips won't ~ or shouldn't~ recur.

Well I just watched Perry Mason cross-examine a PARROT. (!) Now one of the newer Twilight Zone's is on. The older ones written exclusively by Rod Serling are better, IMHO. This one playing tonight is like a sketchy outline of the (stoopit) movie FACE OFF. I prodiddley won't watch it.

Yup, time to sign off and hit the sack.

Hope everyone's Friday is a pleasant one.

I edited one word, because 'Festus" wore a hat, not a had.
