Morning

Spent most of yesterday in the office training my replacement.  Then had dinner with J at one of our usual places

Today I"m up early for my early morning meeting, the last I'll ever attend.   Hoping the rain stops before I leave

Little to do at work after that.  Will do grocery shopping and exercise tonight

Once the rain stops the temps should be in the 70s, and we should'nt have any more rain until Sat

Thunderstorms going on here.

We had thunderstorms most of the day yesterday.

So much to do before my trip.

I essentially have to be fully packed by tomorrow, as I am working all weekend.

Monday morning, I will eat breakfast and sleep for two or three hours, shower, and drive to airport in Louisville.

My flight leaves at 1900, but I need to be at airport by 1730-1745.

My Italian friend had a great time in San Francisco. He wants to move there.

I told him he would have to continue working as a nurse, to afford life there.

He is trying to transition away from nursing, to pharmacy. Retail pharmacy is just as bad as floor nursing.

Time to eat breakfast and drink coffee.

Hooray for last few days of the old job, Joe.

Tweety, I need easy, few step recipes like the fake tuna.

Can you share?

Key word is easy and vegetarian, or vegan.

Have a great day all.

It is good the read you Joe and Nel!

Driving husband to pacemaker clinic. He gets checked every six months.

I'll be back later. gotta wake up more. Dogs barked last night because it sounded like a party in the alley.

Didn't know husband has pacemaker, herring.

My mom has one too.

NY friend's FIL, Jack, is under hospice care.

He is sleeping a lot, impacted, etc.

I have a headache today. Don't know why. Didn't drink wine, while watching the movie, last night.

Maybe it is due to all these gray, rainy days.

Good morning!

I think I had 10 hours of sleep!

A day off except for our IDT meeting at noon.  We are going to start working on tearing down the old house in the lot behind us.  My second oldest son is coming up with a tractor, tools, and a friend to start to process and I'll be out there as well.

It is sunny, so far.

I hope you all have a lovely day.

Hello-

It s cool and dreary here.  I wish the sun would come out.  Work has been very busy.  Allergies are bad here in the Northeast and people are suffering.  Today is my Friday, as I have the first Friday of every month off.  We are going to Philadelphia overnight Sat to Sun for a family wedding.  Tomorrow I will go visit my mother.

Joe-It will be good to say goodbye to that office.

Nel-I hope you have great weather on Nantucket, but pack for 3 seasons, just in case!

Herring-I hope all is well with DH's pacemaker.

Spidey's Mom-So glad you slept!  It makes all the difference.

Hope all are well!

Hullo, there is still fog hanging on, but the weather app on my phone promises sunshine at some point today. I heard that we are way low on rainfall for the month, which doesn't bode well for fire season. My little town has been dealing with drinking water issues for a couple of years: they switched from pulling water from the river to a well a couple of years ago.  But the well water was incredibly hard, resulting in ruined appliances and unhappy neighbors. They drilled a new well last year, but it doesn't seem to be producing as well as expected, so they are already announcing water restrictions to assure that the city  would have enough in case of a large fire.   Weird, for relatively rainy area.

Work is, wash rinse, repeat. I am trying to track down old records from various providers and each one has their own protocol. I need to stop by eldest son's house to water, as he is out of town until next week. Dh is working late, so I may have popcorn for dinner.

Have a great all,

j22

Joe, Since it is nearly six PM and you went in early today, the song that came in my head after I read your post was: "The meeting's over..." (party, is the actual word in the real song.) Have you sighed a BIG sigh of relief now?  I know you'rte only changing jobs, but when hubby decided it was time for me to actually really and truly retire, it was about two weeks of me feeling very, very weird to NOT have to work anymore. Hope your new job turns out to be a good'n.

Nel, Pack-pack-pack-pack, that's all you do; go here, move there, go there, move your horse, my goodness! All that and working, too! I seem like a sloth by comparison. Tell your friend who wants to move his heart to San Francisco, that after a while of being in retail pharmacy, wiping butts and drawing blood, etc, will start to look like nice relaxing work.  Oh, and PS: Banish your heady-ache and Enjoy Your Trip!  ✈️

herring, surely you're awake by now, and your husbands pacer is A-OK. Your post brought forth the poem "Hark, hark, the dogs do bark" mixed up with something  about Tin Pan Alley.  I USED to come up with a portion of a song from a LOT of things spoken to or around me...maybe that part is making a come-back in my brain; sometimes it drove co-worker's a little crazy. I can't help it; "word association" is ingrained in my brain, mainly in the plains....I could go on, but....🚔...I might get arrested for planting Ear-Bugs. Really, there are many songs I only know the beginning, or one line, or the ending for. But apparently that's enough! OH WELL!  🎶

Steph, Your post had the Talking Heads in my head singin "tearing Down the House!" I know it's 'burning', but don't want to jinx anything. / Sure hope you get more good sleep tonight! 🛌 💤

BCg, I may be one of the only people I know who don't have seasonal allergies! THANK GOD I don't get all those Spring-Has-Sprung symptoms!  I would be very happy to share some of our HOT sunshine with you, if I could only figure out how!   🌞   We've had mid 90's all week and the stupid newspaper said the high temps would be leaving us by the end of the week-end..."but we still have the rest of the summer to get through"... DUH!

j22, I recommend a rain-barrel to start collecting from your gutters what the sky isn't giving to the well. I hate water restrictions. / When I was living on a shoe-string way back when, I often said it was good I like popcorn or peanut better. At least popcorn fills you up!

I was going to tell y'all a few more things but hubby has called me to supper twice already. Be back in a while....

I'm awake. Husband got his pacer in 2011 when he was in Mobitz II 2nd degree block due to high potassium. He was prescribed it because of needing Lasiz for his CHF. AND was eating lots of bananas and cantaloupe. No more problems, but still has the pacer with almost 8 years of battery left.

First of all, I meant peanut BUTTER, not peanut better.

Okay, so, this morning I had a dream...a real SHORT, startling dream that woke me up, like, I lit'relly bolted upright with open eyes....😳 !!!!!!

Now, don't let's dig too far into my psychology here,  🤫sshhhhh!  But what woke me up so abruptly was...I'd seen my hubby standing in the doorway with his hand on the side of the doorjamb,  his head leaning slightly into the room, and he said...not sharply or panicked or happy or anything...just making a statement: "Stars, Nannie died." Which is when I immediately sat up with my eyes open, then NOT seeing him in the doorway. I thought, "Huh, THAT was pretty weird."

Good Evening!

Nel, I'll try to think of some simple vegan recipes and share along the way.

Joe, all the best as you wind down this job and start anew.

Steph, glad you got some good sleep.

BC, count me also as one who doesn't have allergies, but there's plenty around here with the annual pollen.  Hope things settle down.

I survived the dreaded Thursday.  They floated off a nurse even though we were getting seven admits.  I had a four patient assignment and took a post op, and discharged three.  Needless to stay my charge nurse duties weren't much.

There's going to do a trial on a few units of bringing in LPNs.  We are not one of those units.  They eliminated all LPN positions over a decade ago.  Now I'm sure they under the guise of helping the nursing shortage will hire more.  I'm sure them being cheaper than RNs doesn't mean a thing.  I've worked with some awesome LPNs that were quite skilled but I think using them in hospitals in place of RNs is an issue.

Glad husband is okay, herring.

I don't have seasonal allergies, either, Stars.

It is amazing, because everybody in the Ohio Valley, has seasonal allergies.

Talli bit me in the butt TWICE today, while I was picking his feet.

Biggie will gently nibble my butt. Talli bit it twice, hard.

He and Biggie are complete opposites. Biggie screams, hollars and nickers, when he sees me.

Talli eyes me coolly, from his stall.

Stevie, kickers to me!

There is a stray cat, living in my apartment complex parking lot. It won't let me touch it. I feed it.

It has long hair, and reminds me of Grisibella, the Glamour Cat, from Cats.

It's just a matter of time before it is sharing. Wally's bathroom.
