Good Morning to you all,

Gentle loving hugs to you this day Ted as you process the passing of your dear Mom one year ago. It is tough and being one of those 'firsts' following the death of a loved one does make it hard. Don't be tough on yourself, it is ok to feel sad and cry, hold those precious memories close to your heart. Your Mom knew she was much loved my friend.

Fairly busy day yesterday and even busier today but that is just how I like it so bring it on.

Glorious weather, sat outside again as we played then watched the dogs goof around. They truly are great entertainment.

May you all have a most excellent day no matter what you get up to.

Much love as always.

Morning Sabby

Felt better as yesterday progressed, stomach settled down. Had to help with training so I didn't get as much done as I wanted, though the new employee did help me with calls.

Got the laundry done last night and picked up some things at the store. Also got a return email from the shelter, they suggested some cats which I checked out on their site.

Tonight I'm going to look and see what kind of mental health coverage I have, if I do have OCD I'd like to get a firm diagnosis. I might be able to access these services through the employee assistance program, which would be good as those services are free.

Good Morning!

Ted, I'm thinking of you today. I'm sure these past few weeks have been bittersweet for you as the first anniversary of your mother's death is here.

Joe-did you make any decisions about a cat? How quickly are you looking to get one? I hope you're able to get an appointment soon for evaluation for OCD. Hi Sabby-it must be gorgeous down your way with everything blooming. Our trees are starting to leaf out and we do have flowers now. Finally!!

I'm feeling a little better today. I think the URI is combined with allergies, so I'm medicated to the gills with antihistamines and nasal spray. At least I can identify and empathize with all my patients. I'm going to try the new sublingual treatment for ragweed that just got FDA approved. Maybe that will help me for the Fall.

Hope everyone is well and has an excellent day.

Good morning :cat: I can hear the cat, Giggles, meowing to Spidey as he eats his cereal. "Feed me too".

((((Ted))))

Off to earn a living . . . .if I didn't have to be old to do it, I'd love to retire.

Enjoy your day!

Good day all.

Got a basic atta boy from the gastro yesterday. Do not have to go back until my next colonoscopy is due. "Keep doing what you are doing".

Purchased Sketchers new memory foam shoes and they feel good now. I am a pessimist about shoes. Herring, in the "old days" I had "earth shoes" with heels lower than the rest. I loved them. Lengthens your calf muscles.

Back to work today. having been retired for many years I have found I am too busy not to work. I am not cut out to hang out and not be useful. I volunteered and helped out so many in the family that I got the tee shirt that says "Saving People's A$$es" on the back. "SPA" on the front. I now work part time and still have time to do some of the things that give me extreme pleasure.

Spent a few minutes this morning helping my neighbor get signed up for ACA as her COBRA is ending. it was overwhelming for her. It really set off her MI to have so much info available on the phone.

Have to get going. I need to get some books together for the yard sale and have been putting it off. Parting with books is difficult but space is an issue that cannot be ignored any longer.

Have a loving day.

 Well, I planted a large planter full of lovely flowers and went outside this morning to find that our lab Rex (aka Marley from the movie Marley & Me) had jumped inside the planter and had a field day digging.

:crying2:

Good morning.

Sabby: your expertise helps us from so far away.

My Mommy died in 1978 when my daughter was ten and son 8. We talked about her and had a good cry a few days ago. We wish she could have been with them as they grew up. I still miss her every day. When my aunt, her brother's wife, died at age 90 my cousins talked about how they didn't understand what we sisters experienced until they lost their Mom. With her gone I became the oldest on that side of the family.

Joe: I'm glad you will pursue a diagnosis. I know amazing people with ADD. If you have it you've probably learned a lot about caring for yourself already. Experts could help you even more.

AKY: You are good to help so many family and neighbors. I hope the shoes continue to feel comfortable.

Steph and AKY:

I've considered myself semi-retired since turning 65 and going rare perdiem. I'm only required to work one weekend shift a month. I mostly work 4-8 hour break relief shifts. Over a month I averaged 20 or so hours a week to earn about what I will have in retirement.

Recently my DH needs me more so I worked less. I finally put in for Social Security, although I won't be 70 for a few months. I learned I qualify for retroactive SS back to January.

So when I get my first Social Security I'll consider myself retired.

My feet can barely take a 12 hour shift. (I've staggered out of the hospitals for the last 15 years with painful feet) I know how to put myself on the schedule on a shift that is well staffed and request to be 1st cancelled. The work 11-3 breal relief. My feet can take 4 hours quite well.

Good Morning -

Sabby - Those tears came the night before. Wild things those emotions are. Mom was a great mom. Like most children, I could write a book about my mom and it would be a long one!

Here's a picture of her. It was taken during our stop-over in Las Vegas as we flew for our special trip to Hawaii with Mom. (Maybe we should start a "Memorial Thread" of sorts celebrating the lives of our loved ones who went ahead of us into the great Hereafter.)

Peace!
