Morning

Was a good day at work in spite of the two hours of meetings

Went grocery shopping after work.  Also started doing embroidery again, definitely like it better than needlepoint.  Have begun corresponding with my sister, I'm interested in doing something related to racial equality and she's been active in that issue for many years, hopefully she'll have some good ideas

No meetings today at work.  And nothing to do after work except exercise and embroidery.  Glad that I have a three day weekend coming up

Was fairly warm today, will be warmer today and warmer tomorrow.  Rain expected over the weekend, hopefully that won't affect my plans, guess we'll have to wait and see

Morning Joe and all those who pop in later! Three day weekends are glorious, aren’t they? I think every weekend should be 3 days. Or longer 🤔

I’m still for the most part being successful in my healthier (not quite 100% healthy) habits. Much more home cooking instead of delivery/processed convenience foods. Right now I have chicken marinating in the fridge for dinner tonight, along with sweet potatoes and asparagus. I’d prefer carrots, but that’s an awful lot of orange at the same time if I did that! Have 2 new recipes to try out for next week and we’ll see if they’re keepers or not. Went out for a walk each night this week so far. I usually end up waiting until dusk or even after dark when it’s cooler. This girl is conditioned to an OR setting, so I break a sweat if the temp is over 70.

I heard a song on the radio by Ketch Secor of the Old Crow Medicine Show that I think is just right for these times.

I attached a photo of the group. Hope it works.

Evening all- Am sooo tickled. My HHA was able to go on a 'treasure hunt' and found my single electric blanket. I DO NOT like being cold at night. I wear slippy-booty socks to sleep in my chair and I layer on my blankets to the point that I can barely move. So my refound elec blanket should be a real treat.

Rose - ahh, 3 day weekends .... I was never one of those LUCKY ones who managed to sign up early for any chance to take a 3 day wkend. Same for when signing up for the 'major' vs 'minor' holidays. No matter where I worked at most jobs, there was always 'someone' who got all the plum days schedules. I think I just posted on a Dear Beth' AN post about the same just the other day!

Also, all that beta-carotene and Vit A will help your Superman vision!

herring - enjoyed the video. TY. Good looking dudes, too.

Sorry I was so negative at work yesterday.  I was angry at something work related.  Plus I was reading the mayor's Facebook page on my lunch break.  Some people, obviously his nonsupporters are saying his appearance on CNN yesterday was a publicity stunt, and called him a dictator for his mask order.  The mayor of nearby Tampa took it further and people have to wear masks in public places, here on the workers do.

In the meantime a local hospital has 55 healthcare workers infected and we have 25.

Since South Carolina is having a record surge in cases I decided to cancel my plans to visit in July.

Meanwhile the President is saying some people are wearing masks to protest him.

I know we have to live with Covid for a while and I'm trying to be positive but I'm not.

Thanks for listening.

Forgot to SEND last night -

Always have my TV on in the background. Just curious - what do y'all think about some of the sports current on TV but WITHOUT any spectators?? Am semi-watching boxing now on ESPN. Like there's a few folk in the seats, but I'm guessing they're press or boxing game officials or training personnel. They are distancing in the seats and I do see some masks.

The ref isn't wearing a mask - I think he most definitely could speak loud enough to be heard thru a mask.  I know, the masks aren't protecting ME. Of course, the boxers aren't wearing any masks - I mean I don't figure how they could. Funny, I always thought the 'crowd noise' was ANNOYING, but I kind of miss it. And for the record, I like boxing - not that weird kick-boxing stuff; don't care for the women boxers either.

Also, notice that horse racing has been running without any spectator crowds. That is eerie to watch/not hear.

I find all the hullabaloo about professional sports sooo pissy. Those athletes make big money salaries and their popularity and skills make BIGGGGGGest money for the franchises. So what the H*LL are they pissing & moaning about when other folk are in food lines and facing home evictions!?!? I bet they have iron-clad lawyer negotiated contracts that they get paid their millions regardless of playtime.

I admit - I do miss pro baseball. So guys, the hell with the rest of the season. This can be the year WITHOUT a season. Play for exhibition competiveness, but hang any trophy championship races! Just play for the sport of things - the fans will LOVE you!

I will also miss NFL. More than MLB. I will be experiencing withdrawal. And collegiate level football, hope something can be figured out.  And March Madness' Big Dance ....

Done ranting.
