NJ22 perhaps imaging could provided good additional information,  if the PT doesn't help

Stars glad your DH is better, hope the Kia gets fixed quickly

Dianah dang that's a lot of snow

Hi Amo

Fairly slow day at work yesterday, despite the time spent helping with referrals and helping a coworker

Later did the grocery shopping and exercised

Today helping to cover for someone at work,  have a meeting too,  but not much scheduled so it should be manageable

Trying out various yoga routines each morning to see what seems helpful,  and which moves are within my capabilities

Think it's going to stay in the 30s today with no snow  expected

We got more snow over night, about 8", I'm guessing. But it's warmer, up to 25, and no wind. We went to see "Sing II" and enjoyed it. It's an animated musical, using pop tunes for the music. I would highly recommend it as cheerful, feel good entertainment. Afterwards we stopped for dinner, dh had a burger and fries, I got a cobb salad that was so big I brought 2/3 home. We dropped by some things that dd left behind after their stay over the weekend. She still has my subaru, (I let her take it due to the snow) and Im glad because the town she lives in doesn't plow much. Her little prius would easily get stuck, and she says it is terrible on slick streets.

I normally don't get extended warranties, but it sounds like it will come in handy for you, Stars. Hopefully, it is something as simple as a battery or alternator. Good news that nannie is content to stay home and snooze when you need to get out.

Yes, Dianah, good news about building your snow pack. That is definitely a concern here. Our local ski area has about 114" accumulated. They hold the world record for snowfall in one year, 1140 inches!

Joe, good that you are enjoying and exploring yoga. I suggest trying out a class or two so that a qualified teacher can assess your form and give suggestions.

Hi Tweety and Amo.

Good Afternoon to one and all~

The KIA place called me at noon and said that the battery checked out good, and they were going to push the car into the bay to see what they could find/fix. He said he'd call me back later on, but so far no "little ringy-dingy's" (Lily Tomlin's operator character, remember her?) He DID say something that was music to my ears  -- "This isn't going to cost you anything." At which point I loudly sang out: "HAL-LE-LU-JAH!"

2:45 PM: Anyway, hubby just now talked w/ KIA and he said they have to order a starter from Atlanta and they won't get it until Tuesday the 4th of January! Imagine a KIA dealership that doesn't have a starter for a 2019 KIA! Heck if they would give me a loaner-car I would drive to Atlanta tomorrow and pick  up the starter! They said their "rental department is 3-4 days behind" .... Well, I wouldn't RENT a car from them! They can loan me one or shut-up! Poor planning on their part.

The thing about Nannie's FORD sedan is that it doesn't like to IDLE well. It wants someone's foot on the gas pedal at all times --just-in-case it starts to get puny. So, hubby has been going out and starting it, letting it run a while, and then turning it off. That battery is new, but y'know, when you don't drive a car for weeks at a time, it starts to get sullen. Guess it was jealous sitting beside the KIA and being overlooked all the time.

Happy to hear about the snow pack(s?) building up in the North-West because the drought needs a TON of snow this winter to help things recuperate. Not wanting anyone to have trouble or danger when driving in it, but it is a bit of a relief to know that things might be better out there THIS spring, water-wise.

j22, I wish you could get an MRI without having to wait and wait while having pain. An MRI was what diagnosed my lower back, hip and leg pain. Once they scraped the cyst off that nerve it was impinging, oh what a relief!

My left knee is 'okay'-- the discomfort isn't all gone but it doesn't linger unless I move wrong or have to walk too much or stand up or sit down for long periods of time. Sometimes when I move it several certain ways it gives me a sharp, but brief pain. Enough to make me say OUCH and by then it's mostly gone again.

I've been using the hot water bottle every evening while elevating my leg, and it has seemed to help. Funny thing was, the other night, 2-3 days ago after I had explained to hubby how to properly fill a hot water bottle part way, and then squeeze the excess air out and put the cap on, and it would be more flexible than if you filled it to the tippity-top.....So, last night HE explained to ME, in detail, how to properly fill a hot water bottle. Uh, yeh, thanks, but *I* was the one who told you that after you brought it to me big as a blimp and it was so rounded, it rolled off my knee!

Oh, I gotta tell ya....Last night after I boiled water in the microwave and filled the hot water bottle, I put it under the comforter where my knee would be. A while later when we got into bed and Ozzie was standing on the bed getting his bedtime snack, he would lift one foot for a moment, and then put it down, then lift the other foot...until it finally occurred to me he was standing ON the hot water bottle that was just under the comforter.! I was worried his arthritic foot had suddenly become worse, but was glad when I realized what was really going on. D'oh!

Cloudy and warm today, No complaints ... except when Nannie comes- to from her napping, she says, "I have NEVER seen it get so dark!" before she drops back off to sleep. She even said it last NIGHT! Hubby told her it is SUPPOSED to be dark at night!

Everyone is doing their siesta thing. I guess I will read the newspaper and do some crossword puzzles until they wake up.

Stay warm, stay dry, stay safe!

That is my wish, too. I am hoping maybe just a steroid injection will work. I really want to shovel snow (yeah, I know it's weird that I like doing it) but I tried yesterday, and then paid for it later. I had to get up in the night and do the back stretches to quench the burning in my leg. Bah!

YIKES! Get some Lidocaine with that steroid shot, if you can talk someone into it. I had a plain prednisone shot ONE TIME and I'll never do that again! Talk about STINGING forever! YOW! It HURT!

IMG-1856.jpg.70233f015c1c62c2175000b413e9fa73.jpghello-

I swear I don't know where this week went.  Work continues to be crazy, with half the staff out with Covid.  It's not going to get better any time soon.  In good news, my son finally proposed to his GF on Monday.  They have not made any plans yet, as they are waiting to see what the treatment plan is for her father.

J22-I am sorry you are still in pain.  I second NSIME's advice to to get some lidocaine mixed in with the steroid.  I hope you can get the imaging done sooner rather than later.

NSIME-I do hope that your DH can make some changes to improve his health, for everyone's sake.  Glad that your car repairs are not going to cost you anything.

Joe-I'm interested in hearing how the yoga goes.  I've half heartedly tried it but I never stick with it.

Hi Tweety, Amo, Dianah.

Going to try posting this picture of Remy.

BC, what a cutie!
Joe, as you might now I've been yoga over 15 years and there are still poses I can't do in class.  But then again, I don't go it every day.

J22, glad you had a good time at the movie.

Stars, good thing you have that warranty.

Wow, did I just read the US had nearly 488,000 covid cases yesterday?  I'm also reading that they are expecting it to peak rather quickly over weeks instead of months.  I'm sure like everywhere our numbers in Florida are going to be dreadful when we get our weekly report tomorrow.

Covid patients went up 50 patients yesterday in my organization.  I'm not but they are expecting it to stay low. I think we are capturing people that may be coming in for one thing and finding out they are positive.

Today two nurses on my unit and a physical therapist came up positive.  One nurse was not vaccinated and actually seems to be doing well.  Another coworker that I just happened to call about a patient sounded horrible and I made her promise to get tested.  She said she had an appointment tomorrow but my boss and I talked her into coming to the hospital and get tested quickly.  She was vaccinate but skipped the booster.  Bad choice.   Our secretary tested positive for covid for the 2nd time.  She's anti-vaccine. Anyway, it's going to be rough couple of weeks.

I was thinking about going to dinner and First Night New Years Eve celebration tomorrow but will just stay home instead.

Have a great evening and day tomorrow.

Hello all!

BC, Remy is so stinkin' adorable!!  Just want to cuddle him!

I was assigned to Stress Lab today, and just as I was getting settled in and preparing the daily orders, Manager walked in and asked me to work doing Moderate Sedation in the Cath Lab.  One of the nurses called off, and Manager had come in to work on her day off, and was re-shuffling nurse assignments to cover.  Well, one doesn't say NO to one's Manager!  So we spent the morning doing a right heart cath (difficult access, which took about an hour and two Fellows and two Cardiologists to finally get access!).  There was a lot of re-acquainting myself with the room and where things are kept!   But we got done and had some lunch.  Then about 2:30 I heard we had a NSTEMI in the ER, heading up to the Cath Lab.   Patient arrived around 3pm, and we ended up putting a stent in him.  He did well, and I think he will do well after discharge.  He will stay overnight and be discharged tomorrow.  I stayed about an hour OT.

I stopped by the grocery store on my way home, and we just finished dinner.  It's so nice to know I have tomorrow off!  I would love to go to the mountains sometime this weekend and see the beautiful snow, but I'm afraid 50 million people will have the same idea, and I don't relish tons of traffic getting up there.   We'll see.

Our Covid numbers are climbing in the hospital -- patients AND staff.  I hope 1. it is Omicron 2. it is a lighter case, shorter-lasting also than the other SARS viruses 3. the numbers decrease soon.  I am glad i got my booster.

The rain has stopped for now, and there is no more rain forecast in the next two weeks.  There were no burros at the park when I drove home tonight.

Happy New Year!

Remy is just totally precious looking!!! Thanks for posting the photo, BCg!

dianah, sounded like YOU had an interesting day! Wow!

Tweety, You be sure to seal your protective bubble up real tight so no floating bits of Covid git you!

Amazingly, Nannie went to bed early, and hubby and I got to watch 2 movies on SHO and HBO. One was with Mark Wahlberg, and the other was with Denzel Washington. Both were ACTION-shoot-em-up movies, like hubby likes. It was so nice to be able to sit in the den together watching movies without the 'peanut gallery' making comments about people's looks or asking questions, making us lose some of the dialogue. It was almost heaven!

Nannie came out to go into the bathroom, and hubby said "WHY are you totally DRESSED?" She giggled and said nothing. I have a feeling he might give her a talk tomorrow.

Ozzie is telling me it is time to go upstairs and go to bed, so here I go!
