Good Morning!

Working the next couple of days.

Keeping a watchful eye on Hurricane Dorian which some models show hitting the state and came at us on the other side.  That it's going to hit somewhere in Florida is a given I suppose.  I'm sure there will be much talk at work today and emails.  I signed up to be on the relief team, i.e. the team that comes in after the hurricane.  But it remains to be see which team I actually get assigned on.   While safe, and a lot of money because they get FEMA funds to pay workers 24/7 for being there (during Irma they got about 50 hours of continuous pay), you know I'm not a good sleeper and would be sleep deprived. Right now it's just a wait and see.

Got a lot done yesterday and had a nice day.

Have a great day!

Morning Tweety

Less busy day at work yesterday.  The craziness is dying down as things and procedures are adjusted.  I was wise not to get too carried away by the changes earlier this week

Had dinner with the church group last night, was nice but we were pretty crowded as the restaurant was busy.  It was the Mexican place my dad and I visit

Today should be quieter after work, just grocery shopping and exercise.  Grocery list is short this week so it shouldn't take long

Temps continue to be good although we may get rain todaa

Morning-

We had monsoon rains yesterday, and everything feels damp and sticky.  The sun is peeking through now and things should dry up.  I hope to get in a short walk at lunch time.

I hope Dorian fizzles out before any one or any place is harmed.

Hope all have a great day!

Hey! I freq am the 'wrong date catcher'. sirI, you stole my thunder!

And speaking of thunder/weather/hurricanes, I like the name Dorian. But then I also like the movie 'Picture of Dorian Grey/Gray'. Have to checkout the credits/spelling.

And thinking of hurricanes, it was after a hurricane that those NH pts died in an AC failure. I don't know why that story SOOOOO bothers me!?!? I think part of it is that I worked LTC for sooo many years. And maybe because it flashed a thought conceived when Tweety commented about being on the 'relief team'.

It's a pet peeve of mine when folk leave a tape/phone message or in this case, a robo-message, that's difficult to understand. Like what's the use??? This inquiring mind wanted to know, so I called.

The lounge Novella continues on the other post.

Anybody can pick up and run with any ideas. I really enjoy reading other's postings.

It's funny, though. I notice my writing style has a lot of alliteration and rhetorical questions.

And I like segues.

This is my clean up the kitchen/household day. I've also been out in the garden, and went for a bicycle ride. I really need to go to the grocery store, but ugh. As I was leaving work yesterday I got a text from my daughter asking if I could watch the grand boys, so of course I picked them up and brought them to my house. I am low on food because with dh away, I don't cook much. We had breakfast for dinner, bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast. And some fresh tomatoes from the garden. I drove them to their dad's house to drop them off, but he didn't get off work right away, so we waited on the front steps, as it got darker and darker. The 10 yo grandson T said if I had a credit card that he could open the side door. 😯 Well so can I, but I didn't bring my wallet along. The neighbor cats came over to visit, while we watched funny videos of "Pigs at Work"  on my phone.

Thinking of you Tweety as I see updates on Dorian. Herring, glad your migraine has passed, and BC's monsoon is over. It got quite warm yesterday, but today is milder. There is a lingering haze in the air, not sure if it is wildfire smoke or trapped smog from Vancouver. It does make for some colorful sunrises and sunsets. A good rain would be nice to scrub the air.

Yeah, well, it's already tomorrow here, but technically it is today, Friday.

Did a medicine run this morning, then returned home to give Nannie her bath and get dressed. Had lunch, we all went to the PCP's office, Nannie's meds are doing so well, no changes were made. Her blood pressure was too perfect for words; made me envious. SMH.

Hubby will be contacting a Senior Center tomorrow for an appt., part which will be psychiatric and psychologic evealuation to test Nannie's level of dementia/Alzheimer's trajectory; we get counseling and helpful  ideas/ what to expect/tips/suggestions/options re caregivers/respite time ... We're talking a TWO HOUR appointment here!  Lots of support and resources. I'm proud of him for taking the Nannie Conundrum by the reins or the horns. Also him having to drive me for my "frequent radio lamentations" (no, I know the true and correct terminology, but that's no fun.) What I'm trying to say here is that my having to have that 'procedure' in The Big City, (and they will cancel me if I arrive minus a driver!) this is a good and necessary 'excuse' for hubby to talk w/ Nannie about the need for this to take place; believe it or not, she is agreeable. This is subject to change several times, I suspect, but maybe her meds will continue to just smooth out some more of her edges (let us pray).

I am watching the newer episodes of Twilight Zone, they just don't carry the same eerie-weirdness factor that Rod Serling's Twilight Zone had. The show that follows this one is Alfred Hitchcock Presents: "Charles Bronson investigating a murder focuses on a strange ventriloquist, Claude Raines"...I'm thinking it might be much, much better than being startled by an ad with a MUCH LOUDER-than-the-TV-show- sound coming on like it did just now.:.."****BWAP!****" Eenywayz, I'm not prolly gonna stay up and watch the whole thing, but I think I'll close down here now, and tawk whichoo awl tomorry.

By the way, I don't just write this way, sometimes I am given to dramatic (or even mundane) mixing/inventing accents....like saying "aksints" in the vernacular of my adopted Southern home. Just so's you know....I kind of write the way I speak, except maybe it's a little more concentrated here. But I do so love what my hubby is fond of referring to as "fifty cent words". I don't know why I felt compelled to reveal  this, but, well, there ya go, a-yuh, a-yuh. (I saw Mortimer Snerd the other night.)

So, with these words, I, thee, bid adieu and a goodly night to be had by all.
