Hello everyone,

thank-you for responding to my previous post. I would like to start a new post "things you would say to your younger self". I will start.

Don't rush your youth there is plenty of time to grow-up

Tell your best friend that she means a lot to you.

Laugh more, have more fun

You are fine just the way you are

Trust your gut always

Be more forgiving

Don't break up with that guy.

Marry him now!

Don't sweat the small ****, and it's almost all small ****.

Quit giving a rip what other people think of you.

Smile more.

Write more.

Pray more.

Trite? Perhaps. But if I had to go back and do it again, this is what I'd do differently.

Hold out for someone or something better.

Don't take things for granted.

Be more picky with who choose to spend your time with.

Just because someone says that they love you, does not mean that they will never hurt you.

If someone beats you, leave them stat. Don't stick by their side hoping that they will change :( It ain't happening.

Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Don't let your pride get in your way. (see above)

It's all right to not be married and have 5.5 kids by the time you turn 21.

Sheesh, I have sad ones. Blah.

Stop eating instead of dealing with whatever's bothering you! You have no idea how hard it's going to be to lose weight 30 years down the road, when your health problems have become life-threatening.

Don't be in such a hurry to get to the next thing, and the next, and the next......time goes by SO much faster than you think.

People in our family don't live much beyond their 50s and 60s, so never let an opportunity to love, to forgive, and to enjoy life pass you by. You never know when God will say "Hey, kid, you're outta the game", and tell you to head for the showers.

Accordingly: life is too short for bad jobs. Or bad relationships. Or bad feelings.

By the time you learn what really matters.........you'll have forgotten why you wanted to know in the first place! :lol2:

Grace, do you really need that chocolate??!! :lol2:

There's a BIG difference between need and want!

And I agree with the others about not sweating the small stuff.

"Oh, yeah. You may live comfortably as a CNA now, seeing as you are married, but you need to plan for the unexpected. The last thing you want to do is rely on someone else. You may find yourself with nothing. Finish that degree now!!"

Don't sell yourself short. Wait for the right thing.

Instant gratification is not always the best thing.

Save your money.

Think before you speak.

Don't take the people you love for granted.

Never, ever, wear spandex!
