I typically try not to criticize people's appearance, but what is up with the make-up on some of the trump family women? Especially the heavy eye liner on Tiffany, and  DJT Jr's girl friend? Or is the Fox recommended look? And personally, I think they all need to step away from the botox and fillers. They all start to look the same after awhile.

It reminds me of old Egyptian likenesses with the heavy kohl lining.

If only the biggest problem with the circus act was the make-up worn by the participants.

GOP faces questions about vetting after abruptly canceling convention speaker who promoted anti-Semitic tweet

My guess is that the GOP didn't vet that crazy speaker any better than Trump vets any of his staff or appointees. Besides, belief in conspiracy theories is pretty standard fare for the average Trump supporter, isn't it?

The Dems did vet, and were all too proud to have a convicted murderer as a featured speaker.

Shrugs

The main guy at the RNC is an unindicted co-conspirator in a felony, is credibly accused of sexual assault many times, a man who wishes sex traffickers well, and has deep affection for dictators. He also surrounds himself with felons...how many arrests and convictions from Trump's swamp now?

I bet you didn't hear one lie or misrepresentation in all those hours of republican television...did you? Do you still maintain that fantasy that Trump is no more dishonest than anyone else?

Actually,  I didnt watch one second of either one.  No need.  The Republicans are by far the less evil of our choices, as sad as it is.

Most here certainly didnt watch the RNC.  They're simply parroting whatever their favorite left biased source is.

Are you referring to Donna Hylton?  She was certainly not a featured speaker. Do you get all your news from Fox? It would seem so.

"Rumors circulated online that Donna Hylton, a formerly incarcerated woman and criminal justice activist, had spoken at the DNC. Right wing media like Fox News picked up the story, critiquing the choice of including Hylton. We learned that Hylton did participate in the opening video of the DNC, but was not a featured speaker."

She did, however, speak four words in a pre-recorded video.

"In the video, titled “We the People,” Hylton appears in a montage alongside community leaders, actors, sports figures, politicians, and activists like Dolores Huerta, Daniel Dae Kim, Megan Rapinoe, and Biden. They recite the preamble to the U.S. Constitution, interspersed with images of other Americans. Hylton can be seen at the 1:08 mark in the video, standing alone, and saying “promote the general welfare.”

I'm sure we could debate the wisdom of including her at all. She did "participate" in a terrible crime in some fashion. One could argue that she paid her dues to society, serving 27 years in prison for her role in the crime. Some assert that she has been completely rehabilitated-"while still incarcerated, she earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, and a master’s degree in English. She now works as an activist, public speaker, and community health advocate." Do rehabilitated criminals deserve a second chance after serving their time?

My personal opinion is that she should not have been included in any aspect of the convention. Her presence was not vital to the point being made and the video could certainly have carried on without her.

Lucy's point falls flat with me, however. Lucy knows that this administration has had more criminals on staff than any administration in recent history. We know that Trump has likely committed MANY criminal acts in his lifetime in his pursuit of fortune. If only half of the women who accuse him of sexual crimes and harassment are telling the truth, that still makes him a serial sexual predator. In fact, he has admitted as much with zero shame. That many in his immediate bubble are felons should pretty much clue us in on who he actually is.

Trump has still not addressed the credible intelligence that American soldiers were killed because Putin paid bounties on their lives. This is such a huge betrayal, it's just beyond belief that Lucy isn't outraged. I don't know, maybe Lucy doesn't care about our soldiers and their well being either, or doesn't believe it's any big deal if the commander in chief looks the other way while American soldiers are assassinated. Or maybe Lucy is just putting fingers in ears while singing LA LA LA very loudly lest uncomfortable truths become too uncomfortable. Denial is a powerful defense mechanism amongst supporters of tyrannical dictators.

So the pearl clutching seems rather hypocritical.

I wonder how many cases of Covid will result from the lawn party on Thursday night of the RNC?

Lol

Once again making assumptions about what other people are doing.  It was established long ago that you comment upon reports that you have not read, speeches that you haven't listened to, interviews that you didn't watch and all manner of information that you have no information about.  You told us all kind of nonsense about the Mueller report, that you didn't read.

Now you're bragging about opinions formed by not actually watching the events. Are we left to guess that your opinions are then informed by other opinions about the conventions? Maybe Limbaugh or Hannity's opinion?

The projection is so predictable.

Let's talk about the RNC platform..."whatever Trump says" seems lazy, doesn't it?

Did not watch the Republican Convention. Didn't watch the Democratic Convention either.  No need. . .

Trump has demonstrated himself to be a dangerous, lying fool. Sadly, the Republican Party has enabled him, which has proven dangerous too. How our country has handled this pandemic gives evidence to this.  I will be Voting Blue this election cycle.

(It is heartening to see many significant Republican Party members "jumping ship", and voting for Biden!!)
