From today's NY Times:

Agency Threatened With Firings After Contradicting Trump On Dorian

So, it looks like Trumpsters are right; you can't trust the government.

At least not one headed by the Great Moron: DJT.

It seems Wilber Ross wanted his boss to be protected from accusations of lying, and was willing to fire those who attempted to do the thing.

Yes, Trumpsters: Don't trust YOUR government.

It's completely irrelevant what some entertainer has said about him. Every president in history has had their vulgar naysayers. And NONE of them have comported themselves with such utter lack of class.

There is something really really really wrong with this man. I don't know if he has developing dementia, a personality disorder, or if he's just a really crappy person (and likely all of the above), but he is completely unfit for the job. And his administration and political party have stopped even trying to make any effort to hide their vast corruption.

I don't disagree with anything you've posted.   I was just pointing out that while he should have remained silent he wasn't wrong about them.

As you might know from my posts here I'm not fond of people being vulgar to the President. As it adds nothing to the discussion.  Two wrongs don't make a right.  You can't say "what about him saying grab em by the vagina" crying fowl and then call him "a vagina ass witch".  (Paraphrased. )  In my opinion.

His gripe with them wasn't their criticism of him.

His gripe with the pair was their LACK of PRAISE for him.

There is no two wrongs not making a right here.

There is only Trump behaving like a moronic dictator.

Btw-I thought John Legend's response was perfect.

He implored Melania to please praise Trump.

Hilarious!

Fair enough.

I found their response and particularly her vulgar response inappropriate.  Of course I'm in the minority and they are getting mad love at their being victims of a crazy and vulgar man.

We are ALL the victims of this "crazy and vulgar man."

The entire world, is his victim.

He is dividing not only our country, but the world.

He is destroying the world's environment.

He is poisoning our democracy.

It is extremely shortsighted to think the subjects of the Rant Of The Day, are the only victims of this moron.

I see no reason to be polite, while someone is trying to literally kill you.

Politeness is not what is called for when dealing with madmen, morons and dictators.

More bad news for Trump.

From today's WaPo:

Trump's Approval Rating Slips

He continues to lose ground with a group he needs desperately, if he is to win in 2020, and that is Independents.

Fifty-eight (58%) percent of Independents polled, DISAPPROVE of him

Overall approval rating is just 38%, and 6 of 10 Americans suspect a recession is looming on the horizon.

As I'm sure you expect from me, I'll agree no need to be polite but not vulgar.  Protest, vote, make demands, vehemently disagree, all those things.

But calling him vulgarities does not contribute to the cause and adds fuel to the idea that liberals are lunatics that can't be reasonable, and that the "Hollywood elite" in their mansions are foolish, and I can't agree with that.

I see all over social media people slamming Trump supporters, making memes of people that are angry, flipping the bird, wearing t-shirts "f- your feelings", and those same people are all ga ga over John Legend and his wife.  Meh....next controversy.

Nah, Trump should get what he throws around. It's notable that he's the only prominent political figure name calling and lying about private citizens in his official capacity.  It's kind of quaint and cute that there's some notion that he should be treated with some level of respect or dignity that he is incapable of demonstrating on a daily basis. They are, afterall, unimportant celebrities while Trump is the world's most powerful liar and vulgar name-calling emotionally driven narcissist.  Trump represents Americans, they elected him.

You can think it "kind of quaint and cute" if you want to.  I'm not talking about treating him with one bit of respect.  I don't see how anyone can respect that man.  I'm talking about showing some self-respect and acting like a decent person and not some vulgar teenager yourself.

That's all I'm going to say.  It's not the first time I've come to this place.  You can bring  yourself down to his level if you choose, but I'm still on the Michelle Obama train "when they go low, we go high".

I doubt that this is all you are going to say on the subject as you revisit your stance frequently while everyday people fling crap back toward Trump in much the same spirit with which he initiates the behavior. There must be some perceived value in finger wagging at the people who are sick to death of the notion that something valuable is achieved by simply ignoring or speaking nicely about the lies, nonsense and dangerously hateful rhetoric which bubbles up from Trump's gut on an almost hourly basis.

Yep, I think it's quaint to have the notion in today's world that political politeness is a powerful tool. Just look at the evidence in Congress that politeness is getting the work of the people done.  /sarcasm\

I would wholeheartedly agree with you, IF John Legend and his wife had made derogatory comments about Trump in a vacuum.

However, they did not.

It seems to me, that Trump and his followers only understand vulgarity, since it is his chosen mode of communication, and Trumpsters lap it up, like kittens on a saucer of mother's milk.

Sometimes, you must speak in the language your opponent understands.

I respect Michelle Obama, but the higher ground thing proved to be a failure didn't it?

HRC, doesn't occupy the WH, does she?
