I gave them the benefit of the doubt for a short window.

There was simply too much for any good person to overlook.

Which is why I believe in the shaming if Trumpsters.

If you want to defend the indefensible, be prepared to accept the consequences.

In my face to face contacts I am polite and not looking to shout or shame Trump supporters. I do, however, counter each and every lie and misrepresentation.  Each and every one. It is tiresome because every Trump policy is based upon or promoted with lies. Immigration lies, tax and economic lies, lies about our allies and lies about our enemies. Lies about people, about business and lies about intentions. Most of the Trump supporters I interact with have willfully isolated themselves from the facts and truth about Trump. Most of my circle in that situation listen to and watch conservative christian programming with a hesitation to visit "lame stream media" or "fake news".  It seemingly never seems odd to them that the majority of the media is being described to them as fake while they are expected to maintain a very narrow and homogenous media diet. They are afraid to venture into the real world of news and information because it might jeopardize their salvation.  I have never understood a faith that weak.

Online comment sections don't count.  Half of the protrump comments are one shot trolls. The other half fill comment sections with projection, whataboutism and mass confusion. Disinformation, division, and social damage are the goals of the troll farms which come to Trump's defences in comment sections. I feel sorry for the poorly informed Trump devotees who post that he is the best president of their lifetime.  That level of gullibility can't be comfortable. I feel no obligation to be kind, polite or nice to intentional and abrasive idiots. I am honest and direct in observation and opinion. We will likely have Trump trolls back in AN before the 2020 election and I will likely get moderated and warned for calling them trolls in my comments.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

US spies say Trump's G7 performance suggests he's either a 'Russian asset' or a 'useful idiot' for Putin

Quote

John Sipher, a former CIA clandestine operative who spent 28 years at the agency, told Insider of Trump's G7 attendance, "If it weren't for his constant shocking behavior and comments that have dulled our senses, this would register as one of the worst diplomatic blunders in years."

Since being booted from the G8 after annexing Crimea, Russia has done little to make up for its actions. In fact, by many accounts, it's stepped up its aggression.

Impeachment is the remedy.  We have no guarantees that the election will be free and fair and tons of evidence to suggest that it won't be.

I have a friend of more than thirty years. She works hard and volunteers for charities. Used to socialize at each others homes, in a club we both belonged to, and knew each other's families.

She was fallen for many phony weight loss schemes from TV and tabloids. Once she bought a bottle of pills that promised weight loss with no diet, exercise, or change in life style. She was angry when I told her it could not be true. She had to call in sick because those pills gave her EXTREME diarrhea. I told her the pills forced a negative change in lifestyle.

She once had a job where the boss and employees cursed at work. She said she really liked being able to call customers foul names behind their backs.

I shouldn't have been surprised, but was when she wore a tee shirt with President trump's face and a MAGA hat. I said nothing to her about it. When she left the room her husband whispered in my ear, "I didn't vote for him."

I knew a nurse who in 2016 was terminated for losing control at work yelling about the crimes he believed Hillary had committed. He believed the National Enquirer stories from, "Kansas Housewife drills and fills her own teeth", to the claims that Hillary murdered two men, had sex with Janet Reno, and ran a child prostitution ring in the basement of a pizza restaurant. (The building had no basement.)

Last week I saw a man at the gym with a MAGA hat pushing a stroller with a toddler from machine to machine. When he was told they have baby sitting up to two hours, but to be on the workout floor a person must be at least 16 he began cursing loudly and threatening to sue. He accused the manager of hating White men. He loudly left when told to leave or the police would be called. Such drama from those guys.

Latest Quinnipiac poll shows Trump trailing several Democratic candidates, including Mayor Pete, by substantial amounts.

Yes, folks, he is weak.

I know that isn't what he, or his followers want the world to believe, but it is true.

He is weak.

Great photo this week, in the Lexington Herald-Leader, of Donnie Jr., speaking before a nearly empty venue in Kentucky.

Jr. was in the state to talk up the least popular governor in the country: Matt Bevin.

Excluding the media, it appears as though Trump Jr. and Bevin could only manage an audience size of about 50.

Stunningly pathetic!

He may be weak but he cheats and his sycophants don't care.  Moscow Mitch is avoiding any potential FEC troubles by defunding them before the election. We can be certain that Putin, Kim, and MBS will eagerly interfere on his behalf, Trump has already announced that he intends to seek and accept assistance from foreign powers.  I fully expect that he will again lose but be installed as the POTUS.

NUMBER: 1593
AUTHOR: Benjamin Franklin (1706–90)
QUOTATION: “Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”

“A Republic, if you can keep it.”
ATTRIBUTION: The response is attributed to BENJAMIN FRANKLIN—at the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, when queried as he left Independence Hall on the final day of deliberation—in the notes of Dr. James McHenry, one of Maryland’s delegates to the Convention.

McHenry’s notes were first published in The American Historical Review, vol. 11, 1906, and the anecdote on p. 618 reads: “A lady asked Dr. Franklin Well Doctor what have we got a republic or a monarchy. A republic replied the Doctor if you can keep it.” When McHenry’s notes were included in The Records of the Federal Convention of 1787, ed. Max Farrand, vol. 3, appendix A, p. 85 (1911, reprinted 1934)

Some people are mocking Trump for playing golf this weekend after canceling a trip to Poland to watch hurricane Dorian.  Really, it's Labor Day weekend and he likes to golf and doesn't bother me much.

I think it was funny a couple of years ago that when Trump was golfing during Harvey people shot back "well Obama golfed during Katrina"...and twitter went wild.

Just as an afterthought, I managed to see Michael Moore's film Fahrenheit 11/9 this weekend on Netflix. Well worth watching and just a bit scary and thought provoking.

Now all I need to do is watch some Steve Bannon's stuff to get the other side. 🤔

A Category 5 hurricane is headed toward the US, and yet another mass shooting has taken place. So of course, Trump takes to Twitter to attack actor Debra Messing. Her crime? Asking for a list of attendees to a Hollywood fundraiser for DJT.

And then he goes to play golf.

He puts the malignant in Malignant Personality Disorder.
