I agree, yet parents lie to their children about many things all the time.  Here are just a few of those things and situations about which many parents lie to their children:

Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy

Parents sometimes lie when their children ask:

  • Mom/dad, did you ever smoke pot? Do drugs?
  • Where do babies come from?
  • Did you ever sneak out of the house?
  • Did you ever cheat on a test?

Parents lie to their children all the time to get them to do things, like eat their vegetables, clean their room, go to bed, do their homework, etc.

It seems prudent to me that we should be careful about vilifying others until we have looked in the mirror and are honest about our own behavior.

I guess there's no difference between lying about the Easter bunny versus lying to your children about divisive political nonsense laced with bigotry and xenophobic language in conservative America.

I have stated this before, but I think it is worth repeating; the only thing DJT has ever been successful at, is dividing Americans.

From today's WaPo:

CA Deli Owner Offered A Free Side Dish To Customers Who Said 'Send Her Back'

The deli owner also made some clearly anti-Muslim comments regarding non-pork eaters, and he wasn't referring to vegetarians.

This nation is truly sick, when a shopkeeper would seriously employ a racist gimmick, championed by Trump, to solicit business.

Read the article, to get the full effect of the usual excuse; I know Joe. And he isn't racist.

Sure.

He is just stupid.

I agree with you, baloney, but would not use the word Conservative.

Justin Amash is Conservative, and condemned Trump's use of racist language, by his vote in the House.

It is not Conservative America, that is okay with this, it is Trumplandia.

I am happy to allow them to self identify.  Conservatives who don't agree will separate themselves as Amash has done.  I believe this is true as well for those who call themselves Christian but who ignore Christ's compassion rather than honor it with emulation.

Hopefully you feel the same way about teachers/professors who lie to their students.

If they lie like Trump did, heck yeah.

So are you implying that all lies are equally bad and equally perverse or equally intended? Is lying about presidential power no different in your mind from lying about the tooth fairy?

I think that's problematic.

I just finished reading that one but thanks!  Looks like the owner has closed for now due to threats.

(Not sure why when I quoted you, your link or words weren't there).
