Duh

Well.

Your sarcasm indicated to me that you didn't understand the concept.

So I thought I would educate you.

There is no shortage of poor people, and I would hope that most of us know that.

My comment refers to Dollar General.

Well, perhaps your wish will come true. Democrats will roll in 2020 and there will be enough poor people for Dollar General to flourish.

facepalm (my first ever)

Let me educate you, the GM plant that closed, made the Cruze.

It was one of GM's best selling cars.

Maybe you didn't know that, or maybe you were trying your hand at ridiculous sarcasm again.

Duh.

I think we all know that not everyone comes out on top in a Capitalist society.

Look at yourself.

Are you part of the 1%?

No, I’m not in the 1%, but I am on top. Most important I have a wonderful wife and family.  More specific to your question, I do have a great, decent  paying job.  I’m able to have a nice house, car, go on vacations, go do many things I enjoy, etc.

I have the freedom to do all those things, and pursue bigger dreams if I wish.

My wife and I as a team have worked hard and made sacrifices to get here.  We’ve made it through many setbacks.  We’ve also had support and luck along the way.  More then some, not as much as others.

Long ago, we realized if we rely on politicians and government to provide for our happiness, we’ll be screwed.

I didn’t know that.

Please educate me some more, with specifics.

How does Donald Trump being president directly effect employees being laid off at the GM plant that makes Chevy’s best selling cars?  And, whatever explanation you come up with, educate me on why that isn’t causing other automakers to lay off workers?

I've heard about the recession predictions for 2020 as well.  A lot of that really has to with global issues, such as the debt of other countries, the price of oil, etc.  Not necessarily what Trump is doing.

As far as the Dollar Stores closing.   Is the that the economy is heading for recession or is it deep discounts and competition from Amazon and Walmart?  And does this have anything to do with Trump?  Is it just capitalism and the survival of the fittest and the fickleness of the buying public?

It really does suck that real people are losing their jobs and that in distressed areas where people shop at dollar stores that's not an option for them.  Hopefully in a good economy that's near full employment workers can get another job that supports them.

For a while now we have seen the demise of retail.  Some of it has bothered me as I used to buy my books and music at locally owned small businesses.  They all went out of business.

I didn't read the entire story, but the latest jobs report isn't good.

Speculation is that the economy is definitely cooling off.

While I have stated many times that no president has direct control over the economy, if Republicans LOST the House and many governorships with a booming economy, what do you think will happen with an unpopular candidate such as Trump, and a sluggish economy?

Yeah, you can keep bobbing and weaving and being sarcastic, but most of us already know the answer.

Keep bobbing and weaving.

My question to you was about Trump's campaign promise.

You keep stating you like what he is doing.

You like broken campaign promises?

You must.

By all means, bob and weave some more.

All good Patriots should be alarmed by Paul Manafort's light sentence.

It is a perfect example of how there is one justice system for the rich and privileged, and another justice system for the rest of us.

How can a judge say Manafort lived an "otherwise exemplary life," when he spent YEARS engaged in money laundering, bank fraud and tax evasion?

Yes, I read it wrong.  No reason for the personal insult.

That is quite an interesting  and impressive anecdote.  Thanks for sharing!

No personal insult intended.

I merely asked a question, to shed some light on the reason why you would purposely, or accidentally distort my words.

Quite different from the personal insult you threw at me earlier in the week.

Hey, you ignored my question.

Do you think the laid-off GM workers will be voting for Trump should his name appear on the ballot?

Some will vote for Trump.  Some will vote for others.  Probably most haven’t made up their minds yet, or may change their mind in the next two years.

i don’t understand the purpose of this question.

You never answered my question about Trump poll numbers vs specific candidates.  Talk about bobbing and weaving.  But, I expected that.  No big deal.

So, asking if I had a reading comprehension problem was a legitimate question, no insult intended?

Interesting.

Again, I was trying to understand why you distorted what I had actually written.

Either you didn't understand, or you did it purposely.

But hey, your personal insult to me earlier in week was a nice touch.
