“Often, the best source of information about waste, fraud, and abuse in government is an existing government employee committed to public integrity and willing to speak out. Such acts of courage and patriotism, which can sometimes save lives and often save taxpayer dollars, should be encouraged rather than stifled. We need to empower federal employees as watchdogs of wrongdoing and partners in performance.”
― Obama-Biden Transition Project: Office of the President-elect and Office of the Vice President-elect We the people cannot sit by and say and not say a word as members of the U.S Congress demand the identity or falsely identify the whistleblower such as Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa). The identity of the whistleblower MUST be kept anonymous. All parties MUST enact the whistleblower laws. Who is the whistleblower?  The whistleblower is anyone who is a patriot and believes that the government exists for the people and by the people.  The whistleblower is anyone with a moral compass. The whistleblower lives in anyone who willing to speak up about the injustices in this world.

Authoritarians and fascists don't believe in whistleblower protections.

There are laws the government created to protect whistleblowers.

This is why we must all vote.

Apparently if one values whistleblower protections they may vote for Democrats.  Republicans are currently in a public hearing continuing to insist that the whistleblower be unmasked.  Presumably so that they can engage in a more specific personal smear campaign in defense of the Chief of Witness Intimidation.

There are laws against witness tampering regardless if you are elected official they could be held in contempt.

I skimmed through your link.  It clear the laws protect whistleblower s against retaliation.  This is a good thing.

I don't see where their identity is to be withheld.  Can you point that out to me?

Do you think that in Trump's America, where every individual who dares to question or defy "the chosen one" is singled out for personal threat, smear and slander by the POTUS and his surrogates, that concealing identity is a protection of the whistleblower?

Or maybe we should just release the name and hope for the best, praying that a Trump crazy won't mail them a bomb or follow them to church, etc?

I guess we are at the point where we have to explain how keeping an identity secret can be fundamental to keeping a person safe.  It is almost unbelievable that some are unable to make that connection without coaching. It's like people have never heard of such a thing before. Especially in the era of a POTUS who directly smears and threatens his critics and has implied that violence is an option for political disagreement, with supporters arrested for threatening legislators, it's hard to believe that this hasn't occurred to you.

I'll take your deflective answer as a "no" to my question.

You really believe your reasons are why the Democrats don't want his identity known?  What about all the others who are testifying? Wouldn't those concerns apply to them?
