When I purposfully ignore many of his previous remarks over the decades I think Rush Limbaugh did OK. Not a new "Epic Answer", but OK.

It is his opinion.

I'm glad he included an image of the Statue of Liberty.

The New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles.

From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

'Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!' cries she

With silent lips. 'Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!'

By Emma Lazarus - Born in New York City in 1849. She wrote the poem in 1883

France intended for the Statue of Liberty to be propaganda, with the light-bearing female personification of Liberty - that French Revolutionary watchword - symbolizing a beacon of enlightenment for those European countries still living under tyranny.

But Lazarus twisted this propagandistic intention, and her poem ensured that the Statue of Liberty would instead be viewed as a beacon of welcome for immigrants leaving their European mother countries, for the new 'Mother of Exiles'.

I think the point SCRNDude was making is that somebody is funding the migrants. It is a very organized effort to get these people here (to US). I have seen other video's as well that show the migrants saying they are coming to US because they want a job, to finish school, because they have a right to come to America because we should not have borders, because they are bringing their sick relatives for medical care etc. The group that is assisting them (Pueblo Sin Fronteras, or "People Without Borders) states on there website that they have been doing this for 15 years and the reason is because they want to "build solidarity bridges among people and turn down border walls imposed by greed". Nobody has been able to find out who is funding this organization (I wonder why not).

So, most Americans ( contrary to what you may hear on the news) do not care about these people coming and do want to help. If they are not seeking asylum (which some have stated) then they don't have a right to enter immediately. Personally I would not care if they all came if there were stipulations to their entering. I would like to know who is funding this and why. We also need to be able to have proper vetting because even some of the migrants have complained about criminals and harassment.

I also wish that the Gov (both parties) would get off their behinds and do the job they are supposed to do, which is fix the illegal immigration problem. We simply cannot have people coming in this way, we have laws/rules and everyone should follow those. If we have no rules, laws, borders, I can only imagine the chaos. It doesn't do any good for politicains, news people, or others to simply scream racist because others have a different opinion about how immigration issues should be handled. I would think that all Americans would want some answers to this as it does affect all Americans.

Pueblo Sin Frontiers is a 501c registered group so their funding is there for review.

Any of these people who have a valid amnesty claim are then extensively vetted, the full vetting process typically takes weeks to months, so I'm not sure where your concerns of "no rules" and "no borders" are coming from.

I would agree however that Pueblo Sin Frontiers is a generally irresponsible advocacy organization that should be roundly condemned.

A great moment like this; "We are a nation with a culture and a society worth preserving as hard as it takes, as long as it takes, as much as it takes to preserve it. And we are under assault. There are people who think that our society is exclusionary, it's unfair, it discriminates. And all of that is literally a bunch of caca. We have in the past had problems. No nation on earth has done more to address discrimination, injustice, and it's an ongoing thing that the people of this country engage in each and every day while being accused of being racists, sexists, bigots, and homophobes."?

His opinions are interesting but it's not clear that they are informed by much beyond a partisan world view.

I'm not buying into the white privileged idea that Americans and our culture are under attack. Our culture has always evolved...from a slave owning nation, to fearing the "yellow peril", to stealing land from other cultures that were here first, to one that allows gays to marry. All along the way there were people like him and his rhetoric decrying it.

Second of all, it really isn't that easy to become an American. No one wants them to be able to walk right in, steal a job, and say "I'm now an American" and us to say "okay here's some free stuff as well.".

I don't think it was a stunt. The troops were sent for support, they did that (reinforced the fence etc) and some left, some remain. They may call them back related to the problems now going on between the migrants and the Mexicans in TJ, and some of the migrants have threatened to storm the fence and enter the US. The DHS has already found 500 criminals traveling in the caravan, so yea extra support can't hurt.

So it was just an election stunt (a very, very, very expensive election stunt) ...

Troops at U.S.-Mexican border to start coming home

Or not. From the article you cited.

[...]

The general overseeing the deployment told POLITICO on Monday that the first troops will start heading home in the coming days as some are already unneeded, having completed the missions for which they were sent. The returning service members include engineering and logistics units whose jobs included placing concertina wire and other barriers to limit access to ports of entry at the U.S.-Mexico border.

All the troops should be home by Christmas, as originally expected, Army Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan said in an interview Monday.

"Our end date right now is 15 December, and I've got no indications from anybody that we'll go beyond that," said Buchanan, who leads the land forces of U.S. Northern Command.

I tried to find some back up for this, and I have to believe it I guess. It's just a statement, they don't say how they came about it and what they are doing about the 500 criminals (out of a possible 10,000). Color me skeptical. Obviously they need to continue to fear monger to keep the support of the Americans against them.

I agree they should tell us how they came up with that number.

I also find it interesting that this statement came in a conference call with reporters. Yet, a google search would indicate that only Fox , BBC, and the Daily Mail reported on this statement.

I especially enjoyed the line about "past" problems.

The problems are not in the past. They are ongoing, daily.

It is exactly the bigoted response I expected.

My expections were met.

Another loss for Trump, as a judge backs the rule of law.

From today's NY Times, front section news story:

Judge Blocks Trump's Move To Limit Asylum Claims

From the judge's ruling granting temporary restraining order:

"Whatever the scope of the president's authority, he may not rewrite the immigration laws to impose a condition that Congress has expressly forbidden," Mr. Tigar wrote in his order.

Hooray for law and order!

Not interesting at all.

Not all news outlets put the same information in their news stories for a variety of reasons.

The one that comes to mind immediately, is that any journalist always keeps in mind that a source of a news story generally has an angle.

So, maybe others news outlets wanted to verify those numbers before putting them into a story, and perhaps repeating and reporting LIES.

I think we all know that DHS, is highly partisan.

It's head is supposedly on the Trump chopping block, for not being tough enough.

So, I would be highly suspect of anything coming from DHS.
