Present. And jaded. And I think I can pick some glitter off the bottom of the side bag on my unicorn...

Esme, I hope you feeling better soon.

Ahem..excuse me?? Are you trying hone in on my action?;)

Fine. 20% for me and 20% for you. Just trying to think outside the box when funding my retirement. After all, we know those younguns want us out so they can have our jobs. They are welcome to mine when I can retire comfortably. Hmm, on that thought, maybe we should start a go fund me page… make a donation to help COBs retire, and increase your chance of finding an open nursing job!

Emeritus status. That is really crusty, really old, and the bats have grandchildren ready for college.

Reckon I qualify, as I just went on medicare last month.

Thought y'all would enjoy this quote by Ethel Seldin-Schwartz:

" I have gone back to school. A young woman beside me asked me what I wanted to be. I said I would like to become more of what I am already. She said she wished she had my ego. I told her it took time."

. . .and this one from Florence Kennedy:

"At my age and in my condition I'm going to do what I want---I haven't got time for anything else."

Present! Not quite ready for Medicare, but old enough for AARP!

I'm here too. But may I hang on to the illusion that some folks seem shocked when I tell them I'm the mother of a 31 year old? (Plus 29, 25 and 13).

Either they are lying to make me feel better or . . . . they need glasses.

Either way . . . it feels kinda good to hear that.

So, may I be a Secret Member?? :sneaky:

(brief emergency check-in)

If you don't want to pay for membership, you can still remember to paste the secret siggy at the bottom of all your emails before you hit send. That's free. Let 'em know how many there are.

No application, no dues (sorry, OCN :) ), no qualifying. If you think you're in, you're in. That's what they told me when I signed up.

(signing off) (and soooo close to 10,000 posts, too)
