Good morning!

J22, glad you're feeling better and Happy Anniversary!

Herring, I've never heard of frequent hand washing eroding fingerprints, is that really a thing as our skin is good at replenishing itself.   Our medication system uses our fingerprints and so far mine seem to be okay.  I would think my frequent use of my computer keyboard would erode my fingerprints more than hand washing would.

Stars, kudos for getting so much done!

Not sure why I'm up so early but seemed to be done sleeping at 5AM which is my wake up time for work.  Humph.  Definitely will take a nap later.  My goal today is to mow the back yard but it's way to early as it's dark and I don't want to disturb the neighbors, although I have an electric mower that's really quiet.

Did some Amazon grocery shopping and splurged and got a light for $40 to light up the room during a power outage.  I used candles and my phone during hurricane Irma when I had no power for those four days but it was a pain.

Had a nice visit with best friend and my other friend C.  We went for Italian food and it was good.  I wanted German, but they were on vacation and 2nd choice for Italian was closed for cleaning, and spontaneously stopped at another Italian and it was really good.  There is no shortage of restaurants around here.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Thanks sirI, hope you have a great day.

I was just saying to someone yesterday how I seem to make some mistakes over and over again.  Like yesterday I went to grocery store and got groceries and made it to checkout before realizing I didn't have my wallet.  I've made this mistake probably a hundred times by now.  Probably too old to change now.  😂

Morning Tweety and sirI

I had planned to take it easy yesterday but it ended up being productive anyway.  Got the laundry, vacuuming, and part of the cooking done.  Also got out for a hike and had lunch with dad.  Even had time to work on my cross stitch.

Church today, short meeting afterwards with the choir to figure out how we go on without a choir director for the next few months.   Should be interesting

Meeting J for brunch afterwards.  His back has recovered.  After discussions with his neighbors they've decided to cancel the going away party for now

My sister's best friend's father is having a barbecue this evening, will be a busy day for me but I'll make time for it

Rainy today but should still be pretty nice.

Morning-

Had a wonderful day yesterday.  We went to my favorite beach, which is near where NSIME grew up and where I used to go as a kid.  The weather was perfect and we ended up staying for about 7 hours.  It was a terrible day for me diet-wise.  We stopped at a farm to get something for breakfast, and I got myself 2 hot apple cider donuts.  Bad BC!!  I had a chicken caesar wrap for lunch, but didn't eat the wrap. Ok, not so bad.  Then we stopped at a seafood place on the way home and I indulged in some fried clams and scallops, along with onion rings and a beer.  I think I just need to have lettuce and water for the next week.  We saw an unbelievably gorgeous sunset over the water to end the day.  We're meeting friends at a different beach today.  It's a little on the cool side, but sunny.  A sweatshirt is in order, most likely.

Tweety-We were talking with friends yesterday about the St. Petersburg area, and they are considering moving there.  It's something we are also thinking about for 10 years from now. We will have to schedule a trip at some point to check out the area.  Glad you had fun yesterday and had a good meal.  Was BF ok being out and about?

Joe-Have fun at the barbecue.  Hope the rain doesn't interfere.

Hi Siri-Hope you got your coffee!

NSIME-glad DH is willing to move things along with Nannie.  I thought of you yesterday while I was at Crane Beach.

J22-Glad you are feeling better.  Happy Anniversary!

Herring-When is DH's birthday?  I hope he enjoys his party.

Hi Amo, Dianah, Ted, and the rest of the crew.  Hope you're having a good weekend!

Morning Tweety, sirI, Joe, BCgradnurse, and No Stars, nursej22, and Dianah when they arrive.

Tweety: The manager at my gym and the people at the counter have been telling older people the finger prints were worn. Often they would just tell us to go on in when the machine doesn't approve it. Others did what they were supposed to. I even told the manager that when I go to another gym in the chain their fingerprint reader always worked. So after four years of many people taking an extra five minutes to try it twice and then show our ID they got new readers that work! I doubt our old person fingerprints re-grew.

That other gym is owned by Magic Johnson. It has a three story high full length photo of Magic as a young Laker smiling at the camera with a basketball in his hand. Going up and down the stairs from floor one to floor three it seems like a bigger-than-life Magic is smiling at you. There is an indoor basket ball court on the second floor. If I remember correctly.

BCg, We always went to that farm/orchard for apples, cider, maple syrup, etc. It is where, at a young age, I OD'd on maple-sugar-candies; it turned me off most maple-anythings for the rest of my life. Of course it was a lot different back then; no coffee, no donuts, no breads or sandwiches ...  it was nothing fancy at all, just a small room on the right front of the barn, where a fireplace was always burning, there were  shelves of bags and bags and bags of 5-6 different kinds of of apples and some home-made jellies and jams, cider, maple-syrups. And a very old woman with really bad arthritis in her twisted fingers/hands was always there. She lived in the house, but worked the orchards and in the barn all of her life, so all that labor took its toll. She was so friendly and cheerful all the time. There were a few rocking chairs and a couple or three cats lolling about. Nice and cozy on a cold day!

Tweety, Today I am resting on my laurels; well, except I'm trying to do any up-and-down-the-stairs-ings that I can for hubby, as his left knee-ball is red, hot, and swollen. Got him sitting still w/legs up and cold-packs. He absolutely WILL NOT let me take him or go himself, to have it checked out today. So that I don't get panicky about the possibility of a thrombosis, I am hoping it is 'merely' his knee-bones getting ugly with him, plus fluid build-up. He had the same on his right knee prior to having it replaced, which is why I am thinking this left knee is doing the same thing. (*fingers crossed*)

Maybe my fingerprints were helped to be worn down because in my youth I was a tree-climber, then as a poor person, without a spare quarter to my name, I actually did my laundry in my bathtub, including jeans, sheets, blankets, towels, etc. That's my theory of where my fingerprints went.

Watching another Braves baseball game this afternoon.

Hello sirI, Joe, herring, j22, amoLu, and anyone else who joins in!

Late evening now. In case anybody's interested, the cartoon, the Flintstones, will be coming back to TV starting Monday at 6pm. On MeTV, an old TV rerun channel that I'll turn on for the oldie TV shows. Used to be that one could turn on TV and find the Flintstones and Gilligan's Island any day on different channels. Then they disappeared. Gilligan is still on MeTV but now Fred & friends will again be on. MeTV is the Sveengoolie channel for me so I know where to find it. Fred, Gilligan  and LUCY (part of my AN name here) I will watch anytime.

And speaking of TV, was flipping channels and found a new shopping channel. I love QVC, HSN 1&2, and Evine (from Minnesota). But this was a jewelry channel - and I mean JEWELRY. Like $68,900 jewelry!!!!!! They were selling the ring for $49,800. I kid you not!

I know I had a problem with QVC and the others for jewelry for a while. And cookbooks. And then some foods. QVC does have some very good foods, but  you pay for it. The Q in QVC used to mean VALUE, but they've become so overpriced over the years.

And just in case your inquiring minds want to know, QVC bought out HSN. I knew I was seeing QVC vendors on HSN occ, but I was thinking the vendors just changed venue themselves. It's fascinating what comes on late, LATE night TV.

NSIME - any chance Hubs has gout? You know best, but I'm speaking from experience. With all my health issues, gout is one of them and is flaring up again. It could be making his joint worse.

Bedtime now. Had my nitely dose of Youtube. Was scrolling thru old songs by singers of the '60s, particularly the women. Brenda Lee Lesley Gore, Timi Yuro, Connie Francis, and the guys, Gene Pitney, Jay Black (Cara Mia),Conway Twitty. And others. I was a kid when these songs came out.

Then my dose of kd lang and Jason Antoine (that Britain's Got Talent) young operatic tenor. I still get shivers when I listen to his audition performance and that of all the other male auditioning talent. Some just blow me away. The female I listen to is Laura Bretan. Now I can't get enough of Nessun Dorma opera piece. Read somewhere it's the ultimate operatic aria for male tenors. That Laura does it JUSTICE.

Have a safe holiday. Hope all works out well for those affected by Dorian.
