Good morning.

Had a nice visit with the family.  My parents are looking good.  My nieces new lakeside home is nice.  Very high ceiling and lots of windows on a nice big property.  My grand-nieces are looking more and more grown overtime I see them.  Oldest is now a teenager.  Niece ordered in burgers, chicken fingers, and fries on an app on her phone from a place I hadn't heard of.  She made sure there were some veggie burgers.  It was good.

Nothing much on the agenda today.  I'm up early because I napped yesterday and can't sleep no more.

I had to reboot my computer in the middle of posting but at least my stuff was saved and I didn't have to start over.  I'm definitely going to be getting a new computer soon.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning Tweety

Got outside yesterday but only briefly as it was pretty cold

Met dad for lunch, fancier place than usual in celebration of my birthday

Exercised and started work on my new cross stitch project

Today have choir and church and brunch with J

Afterwards J and I will stop by the airport to figure out where he has to go to pick up the new dog on Tues.  We might shop for Christmas gifts for my niece too

Going to get up to 50 today

Morning-

I've been in a pissy mood.  Fiance was laid off  on Tuesday, and I've been wallowing a bit (ok, a lot).  He is taking it much better than I am, and may already have some consulting work lined up.  His former company needed to save money, so they got rid of his level of position and are replacing his position with a much lower paying one.  No advance notice, no warning at all.  It scares me because he has several friends, all in their mid 50s, who have experienced the same thing in the past year and have not been able to find work.  Fingers crossed he is the exception.

Tweety-I saw the pics of your niece's house on FB.  It's lovely.  Funny, I never think of Florida as having lakes.

Joe-What are you working on now?

Rainy and cold here.  Meh.

Hi guys, I'm up early too, hands achy, tummy roiling, "power surges" (hot flashes), just can't sleep. I predict a nap later today.

BC, I am so sorry about fiancé's work. Good that he has some things lined up but you have every right to wallow.

Tweety, your niece's place sounds lovely, and nice that your parents are doing well.

Hi Joe! and others who come along.

We went to see Ford vs. Ferrari and I was disappointed. The actors, Matt Damon and Christian Bale were good, but the script was weird, and I don't think the technical parts of racing got enough credit. I've mentioned before that eldest ds was involved in professional drag racing and the engineering and long hours that go into racing machines is incredible, not to mention the skill and endurance of the drivers. And why do race cars only shift up in movies?

Today will make a list and go shopping for dinner on Thursday. Dh has been itching for weeks to get this done. He is taking vacation for the rest of the week, so I have a little list of things I hope can get done. And I will try to get outside for some vitamin D before the rain comes.

Joe, hope you have a good day with J

BC, so sorry to hear about you're finance and hope it works out for him.  I know the Great Recession hit our age bracket hard and some haven't recovered.  Times are better though, so hoping for the best.   Yep, Florida is mostly associated with beaches, but lots of lakes here.  The city my niece moved from was called "Land O'Lakes" .  There is also a city called "Lakeland".  Lots of lakes.

J22, enjoy the day.  Hope you feel better.  Naps are good.

I broke down and ordered a new iMac and looking forward to it.  Trying to download some pics to Amazon Prime so I don't lose them is a pain.  I have 7,000 pictures on my computer from my travels and what not the last 10 years.  Not sure what to do.

Speaking of my niece, here is an article and YouTube about them.  They are in their old house and it's about a year old.

Sorry to hear about the fiance's layoff, glad to hear it's not getting him down

This next cross stitch features owls.  More detail work than the last one, so this could take a while

Tweety, niece's house is beautiful!  Good you got to see your parents, and that they are doing well. 🙂  Tis the season.  Congrats on ordering the computer!  Once you get used to it I anticipate you will love it!

Joe, makes me grin to think I will get to see your finished cross-stitch.  Just is cool to see what you do. 🙂

BC, so sorry to hear about fiancee.  Hope his consulting yields good results; networking too.  Wishing you both the best in this transition.

nurseJ22, when I recently saw trailers at the movies and the Ford VS Ferrari came up, it looked interesting.  Too bad they missed the mark in the areas you noticed.

I got the car washed, got gas in the car, took money out of the credit union for Christmas stuff, shopped at the fabric store for ribbons and things with which to trim the dickensian bonnet, and did the grocery shopping.  This afternoon will be spent doing a small laundry and possibly trimming said bonnet.  Will be in touch with youngest and dil later re: travel plans for their (all-too-short) visit here.  They have a lot of friends to visit, so we won't see them every day.  Just nice to see them at all!

Have a good evening!
