Good Morning!

To all of you Moms out there:
Happy Mother's Day!
❤️

It's 4:24 AM (EST) in this part of the world. "Old Man Bladder" woke me up, as it usually seems to do around this time of day. Normally I'd go right back to bed. But I'll be leaving for work in a couple of hours to do the 7AM-7PM Shift Director thing. Hopefully it'll be "Q" at my teeny-tiny hospital today. But, whatever happens . . . happens. . . and will be dealt with appropriately. At least, as Shift Director, I don't have to do any charting (except if I start an IV, or something like that)! I am a "hand-on help" kind of Shift Director, especially at night, when such support is often needed. Most are, where I work.

Slept pretty well tonight, until a few moments ago. . .

Nothing much going on, obviously. Maybe I will try to get 1 more hour of sleep. The alarm is on, so I won't be late for work.

Hope all have a pleasant day, today. 🙂

Ted

Hi Ted, hopefully will be an uneventful night

Yesterday was fairly uneventful.  Stopped at the bakery and the coffeehouse, then went for a long hike.  Did some cooking and exercised.  Skipped Svengoolie but watched some Three Stooges

Today have church online and the usual exercise and cooking.  Will work on crafting today but rain means I will likely have to stay inside

Weather will be rainy today, up to about 50.  Will be up to 70 in a week or so

Good Morning!

Happy Mother's Day to the mom's out there.  My mother got the flowers I sent her.

Nothing going on today.  Going to get some CEU's and do some yoga and take a walk but there's a 90% change of rain.  It's going to stay in the mid-70's which is cool for this time of year.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning all!  Happy Mother's Day to those Applicable Ones!

We have our usual day planned: not much!  Staying inside, doing some chores here and there.  May try to jam at 4pm PST, see how that goes with more ppl online than three.  I hear sometimes it can be a train wreck 2/2 latency issues.  We'll see.

It should be, again, in the mid-90's outside.

Ted, hope work is tolerable tonight as well, and hope you have some restorative sleep.

Have a good day!

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms!

My kids sent me flowers, and I will "see" my whole family at 4 via Zoom.  Fiance made me blueberry pancakes for breakfast, and then I took a walk.  I plan on relaxing and reading the rest of the day.

Hope all are having a good day!

Our son called first today. He  said Del Taco is the best Mexican food he's found in Georgia. None so far have had the red enchilada sauce or even salsa he likes. Just creamy white sauce.

Stepson called, and his brother sent a Mother's Day card text. They made my day. Daughter is still asleep. She stays up late and sleeps late since she isn't working. Macy's and the gym are her part time jobs and both are closed.

Yep, Happy Mother's Day.

In the mid 60's, sunny and very WINDY again. Brrrr!

Neighbors across the street had a LOUD party well into the early AM hours...fortunately they are across the street and were on their back porch, so the noise could not be heard from inside our house. Our bedrooms are on the back of our house, so it really didn't reach us. I think I would hate to be their next-door neighbor, though, as when I went out on our front porch, the bass on their music was cranked up to be teeth-jarringly HEAVY!  They were "WOO!"ing, singing and laughing hysterically, and I imagine they all have a heck of a hangover this morning!

We gave Nannie a cute Mother's Day card, it was a pop-up card showing a house, yard, and trees, etc, around it. She's always saying, when she remembers this house is hers, that she loves her house, so it seemed appropriate. Ten minutes later she told me that "she sent it to me from the hospital"... "she" being one of the four women Nannie claims are hospitalized. We don't know any of them, because she can't remember their names or where she knows them from, or why they are in the hospital ...  mostly because "she" and "they" don't exist. When I told her that it was a mother's day card from her son and me, she had to pick it up and read it, out loud, three times. And then she wondered, "where is the card that they sent to me from the hospital?"

Hubby is 'doing his duty' of hanging out here in the den so Nannie doesn't have to ask where he is or what he is doing. What he is doing, actually, is laying back with his eyes closed, dozing.

This promises to be ... another day.

Nannie just told me, with some finality to her tone of voice, she has "finished taking the last of my medicines" ... So, I wondered, is that the confusion of dementia, or a premonition? (I should bite my mental tongue for Mother's Day, I guess.)

Outta here, before I get mean. Sorry.

Just had to add: My mother-in-law's day present to Nannie was to just now place The Magic Blanket over her. 😉

Got some cleaning done, did two loads of wash (and folded my scrubs, ready for tomorrow), cleaned litter boxes, changed sheets and towels, and dh and I sat in on about a 1.5hr jam session via jamkazam.  It's not perfect (I get constant, undulating static in my ear buds) but it's better than nuttin'!

I also ordered some "bamboo" sheets.  Bamboo is more sustainable than cotton, and these are supposed to be cool for "hot sleepers."  As I usually sleep with just a sheet over me, they may work out well.  We'll see.  I do prefer cotton sheets.  WHITE cotton sheets. 🙂  I'm not picky or nothin'...  I just know what I like.

Ds texted for Mother's Day, and ordered some gourmet pizzas for us for dinner - to be delivered.  They should show up any time now!  Our favorite pizza place is closed for now (I hope they re-open soon), so these will come from a new place, one we have not eaten at often.  I'm sure they will be delicious!

I do still have some more of the green enchiladas left.  When I made them this second time I used corn tortillas (I REALLY prefer them made w/corn tortillas), and veggie-chicken.  They turned out well, and we will be able to eat them in the next couple days too.  I know we will have pizza leftovers too.

Our ailing cat, Bear, is holding his own.  His mouth sores have healed (part of the disease process was sores in his mouth, we had to administer a nystatin-style swish-and-swallow TID), and he is bright and enjoying his (special kidney diet) canned food.  I have administered sub-q fluids X2.  He tolerates only about five minutes and then gets really squirmy and ends up getting only 100ml rather than the recommended 250ml.  He is also drinking water, which I think is good.  I will check with the vet about the sub-q fluids (it's LR).  Our other cat, to whom we gave sub-q fluids years ago for a similar condition, was a lot more cooperative, as I recall.

Have a good evening!

We are home from our 1/2 day road trip. I love how beautifully blue the skies are now, with auto traffic much reduced. The Cascade Mountains and Olympics were beautiful with the sun gleaming off their snowy tops. Our journey took us to a little town about 30 miles from Mt. Rainier and it was stunning. It is often times cloaked in clouds, but today it was clear save for a small lenticular cloud over its peak. We took Angus along and he slept most of the way, but did enjoy sticking his head out of the wind to sniff all the sniffs when we weren't on the interstate. It was quite warm again, close to 80 I believe. Lunch was burgers eaten in the shade of trees at a small park.

We stopped at eldest ds's place on the way back and he had a lovely bouquet of flowers for me. We also stopped at dd's to drop off some plant starts from my yard, the last stop was at M-I-L's to drop off her mother's day gift.

Dinner is left over pizza that youngest ds ordered before we got home. I think I am going to go sit on the deck and enjoy the evening air. A pleasant evening to all.
