Stars I think of herring too, hope she can rejoin us soon

Ted that is nice that you are willing to help out a coworker like that

NJ22 I've had that problem on trails too, on the rare occaisions I take my bike

Yesterday was fairly productive.  Got out early for a coffee and for a hike, though few birds around.  Ran some errands, exercised, did some reading, and watched Stooges and Svengoolie

Slept good but had another fairly vivid dream that I cannot now recall

Today have church and online church coffee hour.  We're supposed to have an online reservation system for church to make sure we don't exceed capacity limits,  but I checked the site this morning and it looks like no one has signed up.

Need to run to the grocery store and do some cooking.  Will also exercise some more and do some cross stitch

Will be glad when all of the plumbing is done, the flow of hot water has gotten so weak the shower will barely function.  Supposed to be finished this week

Weather will be nice today, up to 50.  Will get into the 60s later in the week

Hello all,

Joe, crossing fingers that your plumbing work will be done soon, and with noticeably GOOD results (i.e., better shower pressure!).

Had to take a last-minute pair of mandatory inservices (online) at work, added to educate us on the new Janssen Covid vaccine.  Apparently this came from the top, that ALL RNs will do this training, in case they are pulled to the vaccine clinic.  Grrrr.  But I did it.

We got a notice that the storage place where we keep our little RV, is doing some asphalt work, and wants all units out by Sunday the 14th.  So dh went out to check on the rig, and found its car battery dead (not unexpected, per him).   So he arranged for a mobile replacement on Tuesday.   He will meet the person out at the storage area (obviously we can't move the RV, lol!) on Tuesday and get that done, so we can move the RV out of the unit for the requisite time frame.

Next Sunday (the 14th) we are planning to join a jam up at the Los Rios Rancho (apple country).  It will be outside, on the grassy area.  Hope it won't be too cold...  it's hard to play with frozen fingers!  But it sounds like fun!

Work is OK.  I keep mulling around in my mind that I do want to retire soon (within a year).  It is, however, daunting to face all that needs to be done/decided/signed in preparation for retirement.  I was, not only behind the door when financial astuteness brains were handed out, I was five miles away and running!  So these sorts of decisions unnerve me.  I am working on this. 🙂   I made an appt later this month to get our taxes done, and will, at that time, ask some questions of our tax lady.

It has been nice here, in the 70's and even 80 degrees last Friday!  But rain is predicted Wed and Thurs, which is good, we need it.  And need snow in the mountains.  Hope it all comes to pass.

herring, hope you are doing well/recovering!  Prayers continue.

Churches around us are gearing up for having folks attend on the property.  A couple have had outdoor services (socially-distanced, of course).  This will likely not be feasible as temperatures climb to triple digits this summer.  By then, however, perhaps can socially-distance indoors, in air conditioning??  I hope so, as more and more ppl get vaccinated.

Speaking of getting vaccinated, I was hoping the vaccine would bestow immunity X 1 year, but someone (a medical person) recently commented they heard it was only for 3 months??  I haven't researched it yet...

Well, better get to the grocery store.  Y'all have a good day!

Sunny, with a cold wind, high is only in the lower 50's.

Not too much planned for today ... I do have to go over to the pharmacy for my refill.

Joe, I hate a puny shower flow. I think if I had spoken that sentence it would have come out of my mouth as flower show. When I was little I said what was supposed to be "My legs ache." (when I was having 'growing pains') But what I said was "My eggs lake," I refer to it as 'mush-mouth' or 'balking tackwards'. Some author put out a kids book ... I want to say Shel Silverstein, but I think it was someone else ... The title of the book was "Runny Babbit."  // Anyway, Joe, may your shower's water pressure return, post-plumbing, with a vigorous water flow at a sufficient heat!

Prolly will return here later to check up on you lollygaggers.

dianah, I know exactly what you mean about financial info brain-block. I HATE doing 'the finances' and yet here I am acting like I know what I'm doing and frequently stumbling. I used to cry a lot about bills when I was in my 20's, and I didn't even have a third of the amount of stuff to take care of as I have to deal with now. I remember my Mom saying to me, "I can't believe YOU are handling the finances." Well, neither can I, dammit. But hubby is kind of disconnected also, and I don't trust him not to do like we did before we went bankrupt in 2011...charge, charge, CHARGE IT! That is dangerous, as I certainly learned the hard way!

Afternoon all,

Sunny here, too, but barely above freezing.  It's supposed to warm up later this week to the 60s.  I want the rest of the snow to go away, and I want to see crocuses and daffodils poking up through the earth.  I'm itching to do some planting.  DS gave us a chain saw (he's a sales rep for Milwaukee tools), and Fiance is eager to go cut down some small trees.  He'd better be careful!

My next door neighbor used me as a "model" this morning in a haircutting continuing ed class.  She learned some new techniques for cutting curly hair and I came out with a great haircut.  It was a win for both of us!

Joe-I hope the plumbing issue is solved soon.  What are you cooking tonight?

Dianah-I also hate the financial stuff, but I've forced myself to stop avoiding it.   I hope you don't freeze at your jam.  I haven't heard anything about the vaccine lasting only 3 months.  I have heard that natural immunity post infection only lasts 3 months.

NSIME-I immediately thought you wrote "puny flower show"!!  It made me think of the spring flower show in Boston.  Did you ever go?  I used to go with my mom and grandmother.

Hi to everyone else!  Hope you're having a good day.

Hi. Not sunny here. Cold and blustery. We went to out to our usual breakfast and I've just been fiddling around, reading newspapers online and doing a crossword puzzle. As I drove home Friday night I passed a little church that had its doors open and you could see it was quite full of unmasked people. Gee, I wonder why our rates continue to be unacceptably high (sarcasm). I don't begrudge folks wanting to gather for fellowship, but we are so close.

We are about to leave to go to MIL's house to prune her apple trees. Ain't we got fun? dh will do most of the cutting, and I will pick up the trimmings so it will be done sooner.

We always used to go the the Flower and Garden Show in Seattle around Valentines Day. They were purported to be the second largest in the country.

Isn't it called a spoonerism when you trade the first letters of 2 words? There are a few phrases where I do that and then just can't seem to say it correctly.

Hi to everyone else!  Hope you're having a good day.

Was supposed to be a fish soup.  But instead of rice, I used orzo, the rice shaped pasta.  Which absorbed almost all the liquid.  Now it's more of a thick fish stew
