Morning

Busy day yesterday, did some cleaning in the morning and met with the environmental group, met with dad and then exercised and did some cooking

Watched Svegoolie present It Came From the Bottom of the Sea which was kinda dull

Today should be quieter, the usual choir and church and that's it.  J has his friend from CA over so we wont' be getting together today

Rainy yesterday and kinda cold but warmer than it has been.  Should be no rain and warmer today I think

Morning-

It's a yucky day, with freezing rain continuing during the daylight hours.  Work yesterday was fine, and we went to a wonderful restaurant for dinner last night.  I've gone to the gym today and will start painting the trim in the upstairs bedrooms shortly and do some laundry.  Fiance's youngest DD is coming for dinner tonight.  That's about it from me.  Hope all have a good day.

Good morning BC and Joe, and all who will wander in.

Yesterday after lunch I dropped dh home and took a care package to oldest son, home with a cold.  Some Vitamin C, cold remedies, and a burrito and soup from El Torito.  Then relaxed at home for a bit before spending 3 hr studying for CEUs.  I have some to go but am at least halfway done.  Yes, I always wait till the last possible minute!

I have several errands to run today.  The usual.  Drop something off at youngest ds's place.  They had his birthday party last night, I won't show up too early!

OK better skedoodle.  Later!

No Stars: If Nanny were your private patient you could go home to sleep every day, and would have days off.  Your car giving is constant. I think it takes a true hero do do what you do.

I had two wonderful special grandmothers. My Moms mother lived in the same place as me until she died. She stopped driving her last decade. That had me going out to 7 Eleven after working 3-11 shift because she wanted something we didn't have. But I know if she needed care it would be easy for me.

My Dad's mother graduated from college in 1913, was a talented musician, and went from department store sales girl to VP of Personnel. Much as I loved her I knew I couldn't be her caregiver and remain sane. When she became frail and forgetful my Dad and step-Mom placed her in a nursing home. We all, and -Mom's friends made sure someone visited every day for almost five years. She liked it there. They had daily reality orientation meetings. She told me about the "Staff Meetings" led by a tall nice looking male LVN. She made friends.

Step-Mom 24/7 would make me nuts, but if she couldn't afford assisted living we would figure out something. It is easy with husband. He is mentally very good, but his priorities are different in his nineties. When he tells me every detail about his constipation I know to just let him say it and not offer help or advice. We mostly enjoy each other.

I was visiting family in Fort Worth when Kinky ran against Rick Perry for governor. He had TV ads with his band. Jesse Ventura campaigned for him.

Along with many, including David Allen Coe the ULTIMATE Country Western song was by Steve Goodman. A talented song writer and a Jewish boy, who attended the same synagogue as my Dad's best high school friend. He was a Chicagoan and Cubs fan, neither Texan nor Southern. I was fortunate to hear him in LA. When I read in the paper that he was dying of Leukemia, i sent a fan letter. I was SURPRISED when he sent me his new album, "Artistic Hair". OK  Here is the ultimate Country song:

A quiet day, still gray and overcast; sun's fighting to come out, but not too successfully. According to the Sunday paper's forecast, there won't be any sunshine for AT LEAST 3 more days.

Nothing exciting going on. I shredded papers earlier this AM... w00t!

herring, That was so fun! I am more familiar with David Allen Coe's version, "I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison..." or was it the mom who was drunk the day she got out of prison? I'll have to go look it up here, as it has been kinda like 5 years since I heard the song. Anyway, thanks again! You always have the most interesting things to add to your posts! 😊

Hello all.

Nice to "work" an hour less, last night, but a struggle to get 12 hours of work done in 11.

The sleeping tech called in, and it was so NICE.

The unit was quieter, and peaceful. Several remarked on how nice it was without her drama.

She is a former opioid abuser, and I now wondering if she isn't using drugs again.

The constant nodding off, runny nose and inability to deal with stress in a normal way, make me wonder.

A day shift nurse shared the sleeping tech pulled the same stunt with her; getting frustrated with a patient, and walking out on the nurse and patient.

Unfortunately, the nurse, addressed the issue directly with the tech, and did not start a paper trail with management.

I've still got that photo of her sleeping in her chair Friday night!

Looking forward to breakfast with co-workers tomorrow morning, after shift.

Trying to convince my co-worker with the son with cancer to come.

She desperately needs a respite.

Hope everyone is enjoying the day.

1 minute ago, No Stars In My Eyes said:

Narco-tech-lepsia, maybe? 🤨

Given the other signs and symptoms, highly doubtful.

Sometimes she is talking a mile a minute, like someone speeding.

I am apparently not the first to complain about her sleeping.

But obviously, nothing has been done.

A nurse on my old unit would fall asleep at the nurses station, but this is nodding off while doing things like writing.
